The staff is really friendly. The room is big, confortable and clean.
The hotel is completely overpriced. They say the room has a "view" however the view is the hotel stairs. No real privacy. The curtains are very light so you can see through. In fact the curtains don"t close all the way so you can see the bathroom from the corridor and stairs.
The breakfast is very poor. For this price you would expect continental. They served us a glass of juice, bread, 1 egg and jam/butter. The same as any cheap hotel in Huaraz.
I'd say the hotel is good. However they are completely overpriced for what they offer.

The stuff very friendly, helpful and professional. We had fireplace set up just for us in the evening in the garden.
Nothing. Everything was very good

I was really pleasantly surprised by this cute little hotel! Location is great and well-suited for doing the Santa Cruz trek or other adventures in the area. The central garden with firepits is lovely and welcoming. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were brand-new, comfortable, and sparkling clean. A great option!
Dinner stops at 6:00 pm so do be aware that you need to eat early if you stay here.

Great environment. Clean and tidy room. Kids friendly. The only problem is a little far from city center. Otherwise perfect.

Great courtyard close to Huascaran -- the Andes mountains are awesome!
The hotel is very clean.
Great hot water and the staff was responsive for random things (but we didn't ask for much more than towels).
Cool bonfire in the courtyard.
The restaurant is solid with good food.
I would stay there but pricing vs booking.com is in issue.
Summary: Booking.com and Alpamayo don't agree on pricing -- or just call ahead to clarify pricing.
We arrived at Alpamayo -- and the price was significantly higher -- 33% higher than Alpamayo.
I had needed 2 rooms for 6 people (3 adults, 3 kids).
I have booked this arrangement via booking.com before without problems.
I had entered 2 adults and 2 kids per room (so -- 8 people).
Alpamayo took that as 4 people total -- and said we needed to pay 33% more.
I disagreed but they would not change this.
I asked for a third room since it was equivalent to the cost of another room.
The staff was then: no -- that isn't how it works ... we can charge you the price of another room w/o giving you the price of another room.
The rooms are right next to a courtyard -- great for hanging out in the day but there is a bar that has loud music on until 9pm on weekdays, 10pm on weekends. If you want an earlier start to go hiking -- you will be awake until 9 or 10pm.

Very nice hotel and restaurant. Bed was comfy. Shower is great! Very spacious room. Staff is really great. Nice breakfast. We tried their own beer and it’s really good so you should definitely try it when you go there. Best option when you go to explore the cordillera Blanca. Don’t stay in Huaraz. Stay in Yungay. Way closer and you gonna save a lot of time.
The food in the restaurant was really good as well.
Nada.

Breakfast was nice although the waiter is a little bit overwhelmed and the breakfast quite simple with eggs, bread, marmelade. The coca tea was nice. The view on the mountains in the morning is astonishing and not alike anything else what I have seen before.
The rooms are modern and simple, really lovely and comfortable.
Especially the garden with hammocks and bonfires during the night makes it a lovely place to stay.
The wifi is useless. It doesn't work, breaks always up and even if it is there, you can not even have a proper whatsapp voice call nor stream a movie on netflix. That was really unfortunate because I highly depend on foto uploads from the trips and my friend had an job interview which wasn't possible to have over the wifi connection. Big improvement point.

They tried to scam us by adding inappropriate taxes to our reservation! They wanted us to pay more than 240 instead of 200 (which is already too expensive for this hotel in my opinion). When we refused, they showed us a reservation with the wrong price on an unknown application saying it was ‘Booking’, whereas it was definitely not.
They admitted 5 minutes later that the taxe was only for Peruvians, while they knew our nationalities from the beginning (we were also speaking English and we do not look like Peruvians). They didn’t even look sorry but just frustrated that their scam did not work.
After that, once again they showed us a price that was too high: they insisted that we paid in PEN (whereas we had a price in dollars on our reservation) and they used their own conversion rate and refused to take the official one from internet.
Reading others comments I can see that it is not the first time that it happens, so I would strongly recommend to book somewhere else!

-They let us checked in early in the morning after traveling from Huaraz.
-Its a beautiful property, looks very new and the bed is spacious.
-Coffee through out the day
-FIRE PIT on our last night was the best part.
-Peruvian family staying at other room, having fun and playing guitar was really nice to hear.
Service is hit or missed
They’re all nice but could’ve been more helpful.
For the price of the room and the prices of stuff they sell inside the hotel you would expect.
-Water boiler
-Help to arrange taxi
This is the first time in Peru no one could help us arrange taxi. They just told us to walk outside.
-Knowledgeable staff of things to do around the area
-Couple booked the room that means
Two towels
-Tiny pillow
ended up giving my pillows to my husband and just use the chair pillows
-English signs (Dont assume travelers speak fluent Spanish) we are learning.
You offer laundry service but nothing is specific its all in Spanish(fine) We are in your country we understand we have to learn your language
BUT!
$40+ laundry? we could’ve buy new clothes for that price! We kept asking the lady how much was the total but she keeps saying later! if we would’ve have known then we’ll just wait till we get to Caraz!
This means that socks is $1/pair to wash 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. Where am I at the Four season hotels?
They ended up given us a discount but still a ripped off!
-They allowed us to leave our bags while we explore a bit.
but he brought our bags in the middle of the restaurant outside (?.?)
Maybe he thinks he is helping us(?.?)
but the restaurant will have a tons of people dining at lunch time. Why on earth would we want our luggages outside in public??
The other lady was so nice to let us keep it behind the front desk.

Very nice Garden, clean and spacious rooms, hot showers, nice bar.
Restaurant closes at 6pm (almost no nice place to go eat at night), I had to be careful and negociate not to pay the 18% tax (only for Peruvians!) , the owner wasn’t able to find me a private transport to laguna 69 (well, he found one but told me he couldn’t garantee the guy would wait for us to bring us back, unless I paid more maybe, very weird…).
