Just look for the green shutters on the Beach road at milepost three in Kitty Hawk! We are so excited to bring our home to the rental market for the first time. We know our home will be your favorite getaway on the Outer Banks. Enjoy a unique semi-oceanfront vacation home with 100% unobstructed views of the ocean and vegetated dune line.

We had 9 family members. The home was lovely, spacious and had that pool which was used a lot. The house is near the ocean, shopping, restaurants and points of interest. The only con would be more umbrellas/shade sails by the pool and the multiple decks. It was really hot while we were in Kitty Hawk!

This is our 2nd year. Great location. Great for family vacation. Nice home with lots of amenities. We love the tiki bar with TVs and the kids love the large back yard for corn hole, throwing football etc. We definitely will be back next year! Thank you!

Myself, my wife and our dog, along with my brother, his wife, 4-year-old son and my parents, had a wonderful stay at Herbst Cottage! The location was especially ideal for us, being right across the street from the beach and close to all the stores, restaurants and entertainment we wanted during our weeklong vacation. The house was incredible, and we especially enjoyed the pool and the tiki bar. We also appreciated that there were lots of different nooks and crannies on the property to sit and enjoy the views or to play games together. The host was incredibly helpful and promptly responded to all of our questions. We would love to stay again sometime!

We are a family of 9 and found this home to have all the amenities we hoped for and more. Well stocked kitchen, close to beach access, pool, (not heated), comfy furniture, and very clean outdoor furniture. We appreciated the host family’s communication and quick response time. In sum, this home exceeded our expectations. If there was a con worth mentioning it would be that we had no bar soap or any toiletries for the bathrooms. Easily solved, though, with a quick trip to the store. Thanks for the use of your lovely home.

We had a wonderful trip! The house had everything we needed and more. The house had lots of room and was very clean! We really enjoyed the pool and hot tub and the easy access to the beach. We had mom, dad, 3 kids ages 3, 9, 10 and grandma. It was perfect, everyone had their own space and plenty of room to all be together! They responded to any questions we had right away and were incredibly nice.

For the most part all was good. The windows could use a little more attention, as obviously there had been a large dog there and had left nose prints on the windows, no deal breaker for sure and the sliding glass door, bottom rail needed some cleaning. The door was difficult to open and close due to the build up. We actually cleaned it a little our selves. I am definitely looking forward to staying at your home again. It is absolutely perfect for our group of ladies.

We had a fabulous time! The house is perfect for larger groups. We loved having the option to split up and stay at pool, or cross street to go to beach. The tiki bar was a great touch- the automatic ice maker being one of our favorite aspects to the house! Check in was easy and the house was ready a few hours early, which was a delightful surprise. We had 3 toddlers and appreciated the security on the gates to the pool/backyard. Also the carpet was very comfy and clean which was great for little ones.
Our weather wasn’t great but the family time was priceless. Excited to book the same home again next year.

We stayed early May 2023 for 4 nights. The house was clean, well stocked, and had and plenty of supplies. Lots of room for the family to spread out. The hot tub was nice and relaxing. The location was great. Beach was just across the street. The beach was nice and quiet. Not crowded at all. We saw dolphins, pelicans, and sanderlings. Host was quick to respond to questions. Great places to eat nearby like Art's Place and OBX Bagels. We lucked out and happen to stay during a week they were having a car show in nearby Nagshead. We got to see many classic cars I have not seen on the road in years. The family enjoyed going to the Aquarium, golf carts, mini golf, aracade and shopping. I give this rental a 10 out of 10!

This home was beautifully furnished and well maintained. The artwork and decorating added to the welcoming feel of the house. We truly enjoyed our week and didn't have time to take advantage of all the amenities. The pool was great, the yard was great for the dog, and there were so many wonderful outdoor gathering spaces as well. Although the location was very convenient to get beach access, the road is quite busy and it was a little scary with small children to get across the street, so this was the only drawback for us. This house has it all! Location, pool, several refrigerators, wine/beverage coolers, 2 grills, 6 beach chairs, plenty of pool loungers & seating. A bathroom in each bedroom AND down by the pool. Brittany was excellent to communicate with, Anne, the housekeeper was incredible. They even made our stay extra special by sending a birthday cake for my Mom and 1 year old niece! My Mom said multiple times that she was in love with the house. There were a few cosmetic things needing repair or replacement, but they were working on them. We cannot wait to book our 2 weeks next year!

Great house, great location, not quite up to the description.
Great house, fully stocked, nice furniture. The extra fridge space and ice makers were fantastic! Our family really had a great time here. It's super close to the beach and has a pretty good view from the front porch, all great things!! However, after meticulously cleaning up after our pet every day, we forgot to cleanup the last morning when we left at 4 AM. $50 fee to clean up 1 pile of poop which probably took 1 minute of time seems a bit crazy, especially after a $150 non-refundable fee. The listing mentions umbrellas by the pool but there was only one and it was broken. Cornhole boards are broken. That really large grill which looks awesome in the picture barely worked and you can smell gas leaking. My brother was carrying a case of water and stepped down one of the steps and the trex board snapped right in half. Upon further examination, those boards are on 20-inch centers which exceeds the recommendation.
I'm still giving it a 5-star rating, but hopefully they help out the house a little -- just a little would go a long way to making this house absolutely amazing.

Kitty Hawk vacation
This was a perfect home for our extended family of 10. The house was ideal for all our needs and the proximity to the beach was ideal. We had perfect weather to enjoy the tiki bar, pool and hot tub as well. We also spent a few early mornings sipping coffee on the front porch. My grandson loved it so much that he is already planning his vacation next year at the very same house!

This home is no nice I hesitate to give it a good review because it will get booked up before I can book our week. Everything is just as described in the listing. Close to beach access, ocean views from upper deck, very nice pool and hot tub. The house and yard were clean and ready to go when we arrived. If I had to complain about anything the ceiling fan in the living room didn’t work as the remote was inoperable. But I advised Britany and she is working on that. I will return. 👍

We had the best time here! The house is amazing and spacious. We had 6 adults and an infant. The pool, hot, tub, and tiki bar are so much fun and such nice amenities. I loved the ocean view and the very short walk to the beach. Location was central to everything. The house is updated and welcoming. The home was beautiful. The rooms are spacious and comfy. The pool deck and hottub were very nice, clean and refreshing. The younger adults enjoyed the TIKI bar at night. Would definately reccomend.
