About this villa rental
If your dreams of Tuscany feature rolling hills, olive groves, quaint farmhouses and a touch of modern luxury, look no further than VILLA IL CASTELLO. Nestled into olive groves with views of Lucca in the distance, the villa has all the charm of rural Tuscany but makes a convenient base for exploring the area. And although the six-bedroom Villa was restored in 2020 to feature perks like its own Spa, its architecture is still beautifully traditional.
Get a glimpse of daily life in Italy as you stroll the villa’s garden, relax on the terrace, dip into the panoramic swimming pool, grill local produce on the barbecue and sip wine at the outdoor dining area while gazing at the far-off medieval towers of Lucca. Whether you’ve been biking in the countryside or just sampling the local gelato, treat yourself to a session in the villa’s indoor jacuzzi at candlelight and an evening in front of the antique chimneypiece watching your favourite movies in multiple languages.
Though you can see the past of VILLA IL CASTELLO in its traditional brick floors, beamed ceilings and fireplaces, the interiors feel bright and airy thanks to updated furniture and crisp light blue and white paint. Let yourself be charmed by the living room’s geometric-patterned rug and elaborately carved sofa table as you sink into the sleek taupe sectional. A long table, eclectic chairs and a contemporary chandelier make the dining room particularly inviting, and the fully equipped kitchen has a central breakfast bar perfect for gathering around.
The bedrooms at VILLA IL CASTELLO have the same intriguing combination of soft, traditional earth-toned walls and furnishings with a slightly modern edge.
Plan to fly into the Pisa airport, which is only 35 mins from the Villa. The museums, cafes and shopping in Lucca are just under 7 km from the property while groceries, supermarket and restaurants are just 2 kms away, and if it’s not a vacation without Thermal Baths, you’re in luck: Bagni di Pisa is only 15 km away. Take a day trip to San Gimignano, Pisa, Florence, Pistoia, Montecatini Terme, Cinque Terre, Volterra, Bolgheri, Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio or continue your Italian getaway in Rome, 278 km away.
The villa is fully private, and the visible houses at the borders are empty rural buildings.
The number of guests must meet the maximum occupancy indicated, children included, and no additional guests are allowed.
LAY OUT:
On the ground floor spacious entrance hall, dining area, Kitchen (with stairs leading to the basement and the first floor)
Twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom, single bedroom and main stairs
Basement: one bathroom, Laundry room
Room with a large Jacuzzi tub (Stairs leading up to the kitchen)
First floor: 4 double bedrooms each one with its en-suite bathroom

Our multi generational family of 11 had the most amazing stay. From the moment we booked everyone was so helpful in providing recommendations for our trip (wine tours, chefs, etc).
Upon arrival Elena was so helpful directing us to the house and walking us through all the details. The house speaks for itself. As stunning as the pictures are, the reality is shockingly even more impressive. Around every corner is another breathtaking vista. We enjoyed many hours in the pool and the house provided the perfect base for our visit to Tuscany! We dream of returning one day! Thank you!

We stayed here with three families (total 5 kids and 5 adults) recently and it was sensational. The property is everything you see in the pictures plus more. It is spacious and well proportioned and the grounds, pool and outdoor dining are incredible. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful and all their recommendations were excellent. We would definitely recommend this property!

The whole complete villa was stunning. There was not one thing I could complain about. We had a wonderful time at Villa Castello and the service was 100% perfect. We are looking forward to visiting again.

Sitio maravilloso y acogedor, ideal para grupos, aun mejor que en las fotos y con una localización inmejorable para visitar la zona. No nos queríamos ir porque era una casa de cuento de hadas. Muchísimas gracias por todo.

this place is unique and wonderful.
This place is stunning. Amazing views, wonderful grounds, super comfortable. Much better than the pictures. It is a little hard to find and the road up is a bit harrowing if you’re in a large vehicle, but this place is unique and wonderful.
