one of the lamps was broken in my room. lack is art in room made us feel sad and lacked personality. some pieces of furniture were scuffed up.

Concrete everywhere. Cold and imposing features overwhelm original charm. Cheap furnishings clash with the original glory of the space. I had to google the hotel to call the front desk to ask for the wifi password. No phone, tv, or information of any kind in the room. Bartender had to check me in and was not helpful. No elevator? Isn't that illegal?

We liked the room size. Public area decor was nice. Appreciated that it was historic and is obviously cared for.

Highway noise. No elevator. Minimal room appointments. No TV. Nearly no services. Poor soundproofing in general.

Historic significance, proximity to Hopland Taproom, easy to locate

A bit pricey for "the middle of nowhere"

This was the perfect stay with my dog. I loved the hotel and the town. The train tracks behind the hotel was the perfect spot to walk my dog. I will be staying here again when I’m back in the area.

Everything! We appreciate the hotel accommodating our late arrival, and helping us with the luggage up the stairs.

Stairs are a challenge with luggage - but it is part of the historical nature of the hotel.

cold rooms, water in showers didn’t get very hot, bathroom was cold and no heater, breakfast not included.

We had a great stay, the staff was great. Loved the style and look of the hotel.

It is still an old building therefore you can hear anything - like the people next door snoring or people upstairs dropping something on the floor. I thought the hotel was great overall but was too expensive.

Optimally located close to wineries and within 1.5 hour drives to Mendocino National Forest, Lake County and Fort Bragg. Staff was very friendly, accommodating especially when everything was closed during Thanksgiving. Delicious food from the Poppy Cafe and kitchen. Great lounging areas, both indoors (library) and outdoors (fire pits). Very clean and newly renovated rooms with comfortable bedding and chic furniture. Highly recommended!

No trash can or waste bin in the room except in the bathroom. Staff could have also provided a breakdown of the invoice and charges at the end of the stay without customers having to ask for it.
