About this house rental

It's been our dream to live on one of the Twin Lakes for many years. Our family of six now lives on South Twin Lake and we absolutely LOVE IT!!! The Twin Lakes in Howe Indiana are some of the cleanest lakes in the entire state! Each lake has an inlet, outlet, and they are both spring-fed. We know that you will love it too!

Keep in mind, this is a nonsport private lake. This is a perfect spot for your family to swim, fish, kayak, and just relax. There are no speed boats or jet-skis on this lake.

Our home on North Twin Lake has 4 bedrooms and sleeps up to 11 people!!! There's a LARGE kid's bunk room that sleeps 5!!! There's a floor to ceiling glass patio room that faces the water that you can enjoy year-round. There's plenty of parking with a two-car garage and a parking pad out front. The lake is only a few steps from the back door!!! You can even see the adjoining South Twin Lake from numerous rooms in the house.

We have kayaks and paddleboards that are available for a small weekly fee!

We are only an hour from Kalamazoo Michigan, South Bend Indiana, and Fort Wayne Indiana, and only 15 minutes away from Shipshewana Indiana. You'll get to know some of our Amish neighbors when you visit Shipshewana. Shipshewana has a flea market and authentic homestyle Amish cooking, and even carriage rides available.

The 80-90 Tollroad is about 10 minutes from the house. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis Michigan where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, Dollar General, Kroger, and many restaurants.

We now have High Speed Internet! Enjoy the free wifi!

Our home is smoke-free and pet-free and we vigorously disinfect the entire home after every visit. We wash ALL linens and bedding, including comforters, after EVERY guest. Every surface is disinfected with Clorox wipes. We also provide hand sanitizer for your use.

Parking for up to 3 cars free. No street parking available.

The lake is quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The house easily accommodated our family of eight and would have fit a few more. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of pans, bowls, utensils, etc.. The house includes several spacious gathering areas, including the kitchen, living room, and a screen porch.

We did enjoy ourselves. Just couple issues; A black cat our entire stay was in the yard, when we moved in the garbage can was full with 2 bags setting outside the can, moved in on Saturday no garbage pick-up until Wednesday. (3-1/2 days with no garbage pick-up) Last blinds is kitchen broken when we moved in so I took pictures of the blinds & garbage. With that said we'd still stay there again. Thanks-you!!

We had great weather. Was in the 90's all week but the breeze off the lake and the shade on the property made it perfect. If you like to fish the lake was ideal. Caught some really nice size bluegills in the 9 to 10 inch range. Once we located them. Just off the pier our 5 year grandson caught fish for the first time ever. Lots of younger bass up on shore made for fun catching. Water very clean. Spent lots of time in it with the whole family just floating and tubing. Very quite lake very relaxing. Inside very roomy and clean never seen one bug inside.Hope to be back again soon.

I love this place. This is the third or fourth year that we've stayed there. We had 2 adults and 4 teenagers. It is extremely well maintained, convenient for us and the owners are great. Highly recommend!

The house was absolutely beautiful. The screen in porch was perfect for looking out on the lake since the weather was not so good. We had to ask for the heat to be turned on. Everything we needed was there. Lisa the owner was quick to respond to all our questions. I would love to stay again.

This was our second year. The home is very clean and the water access is great for young children and babies. The home accommodates our group of 11 quite nicely with its 5 bedrooms. We like the yard sets in the shade, especially on hot days. The owners are warm, friendly and very responsive. We highly recommend this cottage.

This is our second time at this lake house. So obviously we really enjoy. Quiet and secluded but close to restaurants and shops and attractions if you want to. Our kids are grandkids are the perfect age to enjoy the pontoon, kayaks, paddle boards, and swimming. Our host provided a well stocked house and was easy to communicate with. Miss it already!

We have been looking for a lake getaway place like this for years. It’s perfect for multiple ages. Our family enjoyed the crystal clear lake for swimming, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The design of the house is ideal for kids to have their own space, while adults can easily fine a spot to curl up and have a cup of coffee or read. We never felt like we were on top of each other. The proximity to Shipshewana made for a couple of fun family excursions. The response time of the owners to questions big and small was outstanding. They were extremely welcoming and gracious. It’s obvious they care about their home and delight in others enjoying it. We are all eager to return.

We found the property to be roomy and comfortable. It has several places to gather together or to separate from the group for a bit of downtime. I appreciated the eat-in kitchen that accommodated the eight of us easily. There’s also a nice screen porch to enjoy the outdoors without bugs, etc. as well as a comfortable, air conditioned living room. Early risers enjoyed gorgeous sunsets and boaters enjoyed beautiful sunset views. The property sits very close to a street, but we were not bothered by noise when indoors with the air conditioner running. The kids enjoyed being able to play in the shallow water. The hosts were very responsive to one minor maintenance detail during our stay. I was very pleased with my choice of location for a family get together.

We had a group of all ages and there was something for everyone. The lake was amazing bit cold but that didn't stop us from going in. The home was very clean and spacious. There was enough room for a big family! we really enjoyed our stay and hope to go back soon.

We enjoyed our stay. We had 3 couples and 3 kids ages 6-15. The kids room is wonderful! With bunk beds and a cold out futon, board games and video games. We stayed in the winter, so we did not use the lake, but we spent a lot of time around the big kitchen table playing games and looking out the windows all around the kitchen with a great view of the lake!

Traveling for competitive volleyball it's hard to relax in hotel after hotel, this lakeside family friendly space allowed parents and teenagers to enjoy quality downtime by the lake. It was a quiet atmosphere, perfect for three moms with three daughters to enjoy some time between games. The girls stayed in the bunk bed room, which worked out perfectly for our needs. We invited the other families to the lake house for a nice pitch-in meal and some campfire s'mores. The three season room has a great view for your morning coffee, and is a great place to relax and watch the sunset.

Had a wonderful time celebrating our dear friends 90th Birthday. There were 9 of us and the house was perfect! Weather wasn’t the best but was still nice to look out at the lake. Beautiful sunrise on our last day. House is close to Shipshewana. We shopped until we dropped. And never went hungry!! Lots of great places to eat. Hopefully back for the Quilt Gardens! Thanks for opening your house up to us.
