About this house rental

Beautiful updated home, year-round waterfront on Douglas Lake, near Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, & the Smokey Mountains. Relax in privacy on 3 lakefront acres with a private dock where you can bring your own watercraft! Enjoy a fully remodeled interior with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and entertaining spaces both upstairs and down. Unwind on the front porch, patio, or at the boat house, and enjoy the lake views, soak in the hot tub, or sit around the fire pit. Come see what lake life is all about!

The space
A very secluded property on the main channel of Douglas Lake, with all the comforts of home, including high-speed internet and good cell phone service. This premium location means that no matter what time of year it is, you will have private lake access.

Two bedrooms available upstairs - one is a master suite with a king bed. The other sleeps up to 5 on a queen bed and twin over full bunks. A full bathroom and laundry is available upstairs as well. The house features a full kitchen with all appliances, a large dining room with TV and Roku, with walk-out access to a huge front porch with a grill and outdoor dining area with gorgeous lake views.

Downstairs can sleep up to 4 on a full bed and twin over twin bunks. There are extra sleeping spaces for guests on an air mattress or in the sleeping niche under the stairs. A kitchenette and water closet means extra privacy and convenience for guests staying downstairs. Large comfortable couches, a smart TV, and plenty of games and books for entertainment are available for you downstairs, and you can walk out to a covered patio, complete with a seating area and 4 person hot tub (more comfortable for 2)!

Other entertaining spaces include a large front yard with views all around, and a wood burning fire pit under hand-built pergolas. There is a private boat house with comfortable patio seating, which overlooks the private boat dock and the secluded cove where there's plenty of fishing and deep water for swimming!

Guest access
The whole house is yours for the duration of your stay!

Other things to note
A grill is available for outside cooking. There is a private boat dock available for your use, and there are boat ramps within 15 minutes of the property. There are also several boat and watercraft rental locations within 10 minutes of the property.

Please note, this is a TVA controlled lake. The lake is kept full from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but is lowered the rest of the year. The boat dock may not be available when the lake is lowered, but you will still have lake views and access for tying up a boat and fishing.

PS - there's NOT enough room in the driveway to bring a boat and trailer. Please don't try!!!

Four Ring security cameras are located on the outside of the home, and only view the driveway, the back yard, the patio door and the side leading to the neighbors. This provides extra security in a remote rural environment. Cameras DO NOT view the hot tub, the boat dock or inside the home.

Remote with narrow / slightly long and slightly steep gravel driveway but still good overall due to privacy. Very good water access but sometime in the very near future the steps / boat / covered lake house area will need shoring up due to erosion and weathering and will be a safety concern very soon if not already. Plus hot tub leaked but no other concerns. For the price, we would stay again. Host was very obliging and good to deal with.

Our stay was perfect! Its close enough to enjoy Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg but also far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. We absolutely loved being on the water! It was so warm and all ages enjoyed themselves. The owners have thought of everything at the house and have everything to make your visit enjoyable! We definitely recommend and would come back!

Cozy and livable. Almost everything we needed was there, so I had way over packed. Loved that the dinning table sat 10 so we could enjoy family meals before heading down to the dock. The dock house was a great place to have morning coffee and keep an eye on the kids while they fish and swam. Communicating with the owners was quick and helpful. 15 minutes to Food City and 5 minutes from a convenience market. Will definitely be back to this location. It’s perfect!

This summer, we opted to stay closer to home to avoid a long drive to the beach. I’m so glad we did! Our first experience renting a lake house couldn’t have gone any better. I picked this place based on the listing, but the photos don’t do it justice. It’s way better in person! While our group was small, there’s room here for a larger family or two families, etc. The stairs down to the lake weren’t as bad as I thought they’d be. The house is tastefully decorated, like a lake house should be, not trying too hard. (The house plants helped me miss my own a little less!) There are tons of games, cards, corn hole, etc., available, and the book selection was spot on. The lake was beautiful and peaceful, not like some lakes I’ve been on that seem crowded and/or dirty. Even though we visited in June (not the best fishing weather, so hot), we caught fish off the dock: drum, smallmouth bass, bluegill, and catfish. Because it was so hot, we played and floated in the water quite a bit. The boat house is great! Dandridge is a good spot, too, if you want to travel (hour or less) to hit tourist spots like Bush’s Bean Museum, Forbidden Caverns, or drive on into Pigeon Forge. I’m convinced this location is the best spot on the lake. Our hosts were quick to respond any time I had a question, which wasn’t often, as the home was well equipped and check in and out was easy. Thank you for sharing your lake house! We hope to visit again someday.

One of the best stays we’ve had in Tennessee! The house and lake are absolutely beautiful! The owners were very accommodating and always responded quickly. Can’t recommend enough!

We had a great time! The property is at the end of a private road. We felt like there were no other people around us for miles. The boat docks and boat house are a little walk away and some stairs, but nothing that would deter us from renting again. Mike checked in with us during the week to make sure things were going well. It was better than the pictures make it look!

The property was even more beautiful then the pictures do it justice. Everything from check in to check out was flawless. The house is on a point with neighbors to each side but you wouldn't even know it. Its located remote enough for solidarity but close enough to town that you dont have to worry about forgetting things. The kitchen had the perfect amount of essentials to grab food for the house or bbq. The boat house allowed great relaxing time while the kids swam and fished. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and hot tub listening to the rain fall one evening. For our 1st VRBO experience we couldnt have been more please with the host or the property. We've already discussed a return trip with another family!
