Welcome to the Mountain Treehouse! We recently renovated the home with all upgraded amenities. Enjoy comfortable living spaces, outdoor decks, and gorgeous views. After heavy rains, you can even hear the rushing waters from the mountain stream at the base of the property. You will relax and breathe easier here.
Our large, peaceful home is nestled in the tree tops, with oversized windows allowing natural light to fill the space. Vaulted two story ceilings make the home feel wide open and spacious. A two sided wood burning fireplace is the focal point that anchors the main floor and warms the home on chilly nights. A 65 inch t.v. on each side of the fireplace make entertainment easy, no matter which room your are in.
Custom live edge dining room table seats six. Eight unique teak root bar stools surround the enormous kitchen island, completing the seating. Enjoy cooking in this fully equipped kitchen, including both a full sized and beverage fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, griddle, baking supplies, and cooking supplies. There is a coffee station with both drip and keurig options. Afterwards, you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy the views on one of our two outdoor decks.
There is a laundry room on lower level with industrial full sized washer and dryer, drying rack, ironing board and iron. The main level deck with BBQ gas grill, outdoor table with seating, and rocking chairs. The level lower deck has seating and a classic ring hook game.
Split unit air conditioning and heating units mean that each room can customize the perfect temperature for them. There are extra blankets for those cozy winter nights and some beach towels for summer fun. If there has to be work done, use the high speed wifi, and a small office space with a printer. For those traveling with young kids, we have a pack and play, high chair, and plates/cups/ silverware. There are many toys and board games in the loft, perfect for family fun! Settle into any of the cozy spots with a new book to read.
In the backyard, after a 5 min hike to the base of our property, there is a hiking trail along a creek. In the summer time, supervised kids can play in the creek while adults breathe in the peaceful nature. Along that trail is a moderate hike out to Shamokin Falls, wintergreen's own waterfall!

Had the pleasure of staying here for a few days for a yearly reunion amongst old college friends. Loved the nearby lake and hiking trails as well as having any basic amenities needed for various reasons. Thanks so much for letting us stay!

This is a wonderful property located inside the Wintergreen Resort. The kitchen is one of it’s best features and is well stocked, which was really appreciated. We did have to completely clean the deck furniture & grill before it was useable but enjoyed starting & ending each day in that peaceful outdoor space. Overall, we were pleased with this property and the owner was responsive to our questions. HOWEVER, I recommend getting VERY specific with your questions regarding the details of resort amenities available to VRBO guests because it may very well impact your vacation plans. I suggest calling the resort ahead of your booking to learn exactly what is available to guests renting through a VRBO vs. renting directly through the resort itself. Some things we experienced > Pools-VRBO guests only have access to 2 of 3 pools AND can only swim AFTER 2:00. A big disappointment. > Lake Monacan-VRBO guests are charged $20 per person, regardless of age so be sure to have plenty of cash on beach day or you won’t get in. Also, paddle boats/boards, water trampoline & inflatable slide are all additional hourly charges. > Fitness Facilities-VRBO guests have NO ACCESS UNLESS you buy costly spa sessions. > Golf-VRBO guests can only play on 1 of 2 courses. Lastly, there were 9 of us with 3 cars and parking was a real challenge. More than 3 cars would have been a serious problem. The driveway and turnaround area is very overgrown so your vehicle may well be impacted while maneuvering exits.

Incredible vacation rental experience from start to finish. Started with excellent, detailed communication from hosts. Home was amply stocked and contained everything we could possibly need and more. Loved the decor, comfort and layout of the home. Fireplace and comfy couch with snuggly blankets and plenty of firewood. Floor plan allowed all 8 of us to be together but house was also big enough to separate if we needed a quiet place to work, etc. Appreciated little touches such as tips about snakes and bears, and champagne left in the fridge for our reunion. It was also wonderful not to have to do too much clean up at the end-no stripping beds or doing laundry! We loved the location and convenience of this property, and all agreed we would stay again. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

The property is beautiful and the hosts are so welcoming! There is plenty of room for guests to hang out together without having to split into different rooms. The only thing is there aren’t curtains in two of the bedrooms so if you aren’t used to the sunrise you will be by the end of your stay. Sleep masks were provided by the host.

I booked this stay to celebrate my partner’s birthday with all of his friends and I cannot express enough how amazing everything was! Liz and Chad were extremely detailed and communicative. They even had a binder with all the necessary information about the house and things in the area. The house is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures from the listing don’t even grasp how beautiful it actually is. We all slept very comfortably and had plenty of space for each person to have a bed. They truly had everything you might have needed for a trip like this. Everyone in our group had an amazing time. I highly recommend this place for any large groups or families!

All I can say is WOW this property was great and fit 12 adults perfectly! Close to the breweries and wineries, the beds were so comfy it made my 40th birthday celebration amazing! Thank you for being such great hosts. Communication was on point and will be staying here again :)

We spent a long summer weekend at this amazing cabin and we were all sad to leave. It’s spacious and modern with everything you might need for a relaxing time. We had 3 families with 6 kids between us and the kids loved the giant bunk room. The beds were super comfortable and each family had their own full bathroom. The kitchen is huge and modern with tons of counter space (it even has a separate wine/beer fridge!) and was extremely well stocked. There are two back decks with a lovely view of the forest (we appreciated not being surrounded by other houses). We explored a rough trail from the cabin down to the old Appalachian Trail and followed it to the Shamokin Falls trail. It was a little tough for some of our younger kids but they made it, and we ended up sending a few people back by the road to bring a car! We also hiked the Paul’s Creek trail which is about a 30 minute drive and has a natural waterslide. Worth noting that Upper Crust pizza delivers to this address and has a great Friday night arrival special. The owners were incredibly responsive and even left us a celebratory bottle of champagne! All in all this is an excellent rental and we hope to go back for a longer stay in the future.

The kids love the house - all 6 get to sleep in the bunk room and there’s plenty of room for hide and seek. The sofa in the living room is big enough for all to watch movies. The adults love the kitchen - enough room and supplies for making meals instead of going out. We loved hiking to the Paul’s creek water slide and wintergreen adventure park and the wintergreen fireworks. Perfect place for making memories.

We had a great time here. The house was very well maintained and clean. The only issue we had was with a part of the bed frame falling off on the first night. We moved the queen mattress to the floor of the master bedroom and my friend and her son crashed there. The main bedroom was big enough for that and we did not mind. We contacted the owners and they responded right away. Since no one was available to come and fix the bed, we received a refund of $100. Overall super clean space. The kitchen and patio are both spacious enough for large cook off.

The property was wonderful for a family gathering. The grandchildren loved staying in the bunkroom. There were 6 adults and four children. We had more than enough room. The kitchen was well stocked which made cooking meals easy. The owners provided information about the area. There were lots of activities nearby. We especially enjoyed the hike to the waterfall. The owners were very responsive to any questions or needs. We highly recommend the property. Our family made lots of fun memories.

We've done tons of cabin trips and have often ended up in places that have been unbelievably good--the pictures were unable to do them justice.
This space provided a great backdrop to our family gathering to help kick off the summer season. There were some things that didn't work well--the grill didn't heat well and we had to purchase propane, or the fridge took a long while to get cool. However, all in all, we enjoyed cooking in the well-stocked kitchen, using the wood-burning fireplace, and fairly private bedrooms--the bathroom in the primary suite was pretty awesome!
Liz was super responsive and even supported us in recovering a lost item. This place is great for some quality family time and memorable meals together.

We initially booked this beautiful home and to bring family from MD/VA and NC, 5 days before check in we were informed that the resort was closed (BOO) of course we didn't cancel.... We still managed to enjoy the house and our little weekend vacation, the kids room was perfect where all the kids stayed. WAS happy to see the doggy bowl ready for our pups, the trail in the back yard was awesome. The only thing was the shared bathroom did not have curtains (since the deck extends to the window) so we had to make sure nobody went to the deck. BUT other than that the fully supplied kitchen. (Keurig was a life saver) .. NO COMPLAINTS, WE WILL BOOK AGAIN WHEN IT SNOWS

Newly decorated home has beautiful views. Very clean. Great open kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook family style meals. Open fire place warms the house. Open loft not really ideal for a 4th family if coming with a large group due to open to the downstairs. Bunk room great setup for 6 kids/teens. Master bedroom located below the kitchen with nice views.

The whole family loved it. Watching sunrise from the bedrooms was wonderful. Kitchen had everything we needed, and plenty of it. Cooks loved pans, bowls, utensils - so much more counter space than anyone has at home!. Kids loved the 6 bunk bunk room - enough room for all. Kids and adults spent time on the sectional sofa watching the giant screen tv. Convenient to the tubing and skiing. Enough towels!! There was big plastic ball that the kids played with for most of the weekend, and they loved the loft room. Fireplace was so easy to use and we made s'mores in it. We will be back!

There was ample room to hang out, watch tv, enjoy the fire and play games. We would recommend window treatments, blinds or shades in bedrooms and bathrooms for privacy.

When you walk inside of this house you will be amazed. The house is amazing. The house is very well stocked with kitchen ware, the fireplace was great! Such a great place to go when you want your family all together ! We had 2 wonderful days of hiking, eating and laughing together.
Our ritual was to hike in the morning ,go to a brewery or winery in the afternoon then eat a delicious meal (brought from home ) in the evening with the fireplace roaring and the music playing on your large screen TV !

We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The house was exactly as pictured (if anything, better in person) and had everything we needed for a couple relaxing days with friends. Highly recommended and hope we get the chance to visit again.

An oasis in the trees! This house is even more beautiful in person than the photos show. We were supposed to go camping but due to the hurricane found this Wintergreen getaway. Even though it rained the whole weekend, there was plenty to do for our family indoors. The house had everything we needed, was incredibly comfortable and Liz was a great communicator - always quickly available! We hope to be back!

Winter Weekend Getaway
10 of us and our dog had a wonderful weekend at this property. The home is beautiful and well furnished. We enjoyed the double sided fireplace and the large tvs in the kitchen & family room. The bathrooms are nicely updated. We took advantage of the nearby hiking trails off the property and thoroughly enjoyed them. The owner was extremely responsive and very amicable. We highly recommend this house for your getaway!

Great sat at the Mountain treehouse
My husband and I just spent five very relaxing days at this property. The house was clean, private and well stocked. While it was just the two of us, the house would be great for families and groups of friends. The view to the mountain was really pretty. The house has been updated and the changes were very thoughtful. The fireplace worked great and set a really nice tone. We took some nice hikes and only went to the market on the mountain- which, for a small market, was really well stocked.

Amazing house!
We loved our time at this house in Wintergreen. We booked this location specifically for the tubing run but due to Covid that was closed. We had no problems finding other things to keep us busy. The house is even better than the pictures. It is laid out great for a big family and had all the basic necessities. We drove down to a few of the breweries for meals and enjoyed a few days of hiking - the waterfall hike was gorgeous. We will definitely come back.
