This house was perfect for the large group of people and perfectly private given it was the only house in this cul-de-sac. Although there was not direct beach access to this house, getting to the beach was not difficult and the subdivision is very close to a shopping center making the need to gather groceries and supplies a short trip. The pool was perfect size for a group of 14.

Simply travel booked this house for our family outing (12 adults, 4 kids) and we had a blast. The pool was a HUGE hit and number of bedrooms was perfect for all the families

The house overall was great for our family vacation. Having a pool on the property was amazing! The porches on each level were very nice & the clothes line for our suits & towels was a great touch. I would recommend this home & may book it in the future.
5.0 / 5.0
This was the largest house we could find for our group's dates in the outer banks. We loved our trip and this house was a big part of that. The pool was especially perfect. If you look at the matterport tour you can see that each of the bedrooms has an attached full bathroom. We didn't look carefully at this, so it was a great surprise. Also I would say that generally, the house was SO much better than the pictures showed. I was a little nervous about the living room/dining room/kitchen not being big enough for 14 people, but they were much larger than they seemed. The dining table was amazing and had 11 chairs + two barstools. The pool table was also a lot of fun and the drink fridge in that space was nice. The wraparound decks were lovely to enjoy the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. The house is close enough to walk to the beach if you really want (about a mile). This wasn't possible for some of the people in our group, so we drove and there are several spots within a five minute trip.
There were a few things that we thought could be improved/added to make it perfect. The house only has a small charcoal grill without a cover (like one you'd find at a campground). We would have loved a larger gas or charcoal grill. It seemed like the pool would have been a natural place for this. We wanted to grill one night but just ended up cooking everything on the stove because doing it on such a small grill for 14 people would have been way too time consuming.
We had the maximum size for this place (14), so this may not apply to smaller groups, but we wished we had an air mattress. There are seven bedrooms, which is amazing, but five of them are single king/queen beds. A large portion of our group didn't make sense to share a bed (e.g., teenage siblings). A couple of people ended up sleeping on the couch to solve this but they were always woken up by people hanging out in the living room in the morning. An air mattress that we could have put on the floor in the pool table room would have helped solve this issue.
I was worried about the cleanliness of the house based on other reviews and this is definitely the thing that could use the most attention. I agree that the house could use a thorough, probably days long, deep clean. There were some trash and fish guts in the pool house. Some of the bedrooms had trash under the beds. The oven in the kitchen had dirty pans in it. Overall, it was mostly clean so we didn't feel the need to have someone come clean it and interrupt our stay.
A few other things: You'll need to bring/buy your own laundry and dishwashing detergent. I was only surprised because I've never rented a place where this was true. There are very few towels and linens (~2/room). There was only one kitchen towel!
Overall, an amazing place for a large group trip to the outer banks with a few minor flaws.

We should have stayed longer but we enjoyed the house and all the amenities. Kids really enjoyed the pool . Even when we went to beach they begged to come back to the pool! House is big so I would get lost at times! Lol

This home is older and there are definitely some minor issues that maintenance needs to address (outdoor shower not working, 2 toilets stopped working, second dishwasher leaks, and needs a REALLY good deep clean). The pool was great and we loved the tiki bar. The outdoor shower wasn’t working which was a bummer and it’s near impossible to reach a local Vacasa staff member. Nothing we complained about was enough to ruin our trip, the location is perfect and it accommodated our large group.

The house was spacious and fit our group really well. There were some appliances broken and needed to be swapped out, hair in 2nd floor tubs, and underwear left in pool shower but other than that, the house was lovely. Great view from third floor deck for sunsets on the sound.

Pool and hottub. Spacious too beautiful place.

House had great 3rd floor open space, wrap around decks on 2 floors, all bdrms were nice. On the downside, washing machine seems to tear clothes, dryer leaves stains, Keurig coffee maker has internal water leak.

We had an absolutely awesome vacation in the Outer Banks. We loved the house, even though it was far larger than we needed. I would highly recommend this location...only a minute or two to Food Lion and Duck Donuts. We also loved that it was further away from the more populated areas of OBX. We took a trip to Corolla to do a Wild Horse Tour and was SO thankful that we chose Avon since it isn't anywhere near as busy as Corolla, Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. During our vacation, we took a fishing charter and a family adventure charter out of Hateras and were very happy with both!
The pool at this house was amazing...though the deck around it was a bit dirty and had broken glass when we arrived. Our little girls loved the fish cleaning house, which they turned into the "Shell Shack". Having two dishwashers was amazing! I also loved that each room had its own bathroom. The wet bar in the lower level was great and we used it all of the time when swimming, since the kitchen was up on the third floor!
If we didn't like to visit new cities and states each year, we'd definitely be back!

This house was everything we hoped it would be!
When we decided to rent a house on the Outer Banks my family did a lot of research. We looked at hundreds of houses, and reviews, so I know how important they are. This house was exactly as advertised, the cleaning crew did a wonderful job before we even got there, every room was almost exactly as pictured. The pool was clean and the grounds well kept. We had 12 family members including three children, there was more than enough room for everyone and not one person was disappointed. The game room with a pool table off of the first floor deck and pool was one of the highlights for everyone. If you’re thinking of renting a home with seven bedrooms in 7 1/2 bathrooms it is worth every penny! It is also two minutes from a grocery store and shopping center with restaurants and about 5 minutes from a public beach. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat! I can’t say enough good things about it!

Ceiling fans
The house was ok, except the ceiling fans in two of the second floor bedrooms, need to be replaced. Both are real wobbly and noisy.

Cottage has many good features, lots of bedrooms. You can spread out if you have several guests, which is good in todays world. Only exception is the kitchen area, which is quite small in comparison.

Our stay in August 2021
The house was plenty large for our family. The pool was great, larger than expected and well kept. However, the bathrooms drains for both the tubs and sinks on the second floor were clogged and it took several calls to the property manger to get a plumber out and that didn’t happen until later the next day. We felt the house was not as clean as it should have been when we arrived but it wasn’t terrible. The basketball net was not useable as it was surrounded by foliage. The location was great, not far from the beach (a five minute drive) and near shops and restaurants and the grocery store. Great views especially at sunset.

wonderful house
Perfect amount of bedrooms for our family. The pool and hot tub were great features. The 28 stair climb up to the main floor may be hard for elderly people. I was going to book again for next year until I saw the price went up $3,000 for the same week next year so sadly we won't be returning but the house itself is great and nice location.

It was good
No complaints really. Pool wasn't heated and had to be cleaned very often due to the surrounding trees. Also the basketball net is un usable due to the large bush right under it. Overall it was good.

Amazing family vacation
Our stay at this location was amazing. The house was perfect for our large group of 15+. The house was a very minimal distance from grocery shopping, the sound, and the beach. Each bedroom having a private bathroom was perfect for each family, and the double dishwashers was a game changer!!
The pool and hot tub were both clean and in good working order and our group spent many evenings relaxing and playing together.
There were a few items that need maintained, the grill is not usable, there were a few lights out, and a tv was missing a remote, but all things were very minor.
Overall our group had a great stay! Thank you for a vacation that we will remember for a lifetime.

Fix it up
Overall the house was very nice but there were a lot of little thing to be fixed like the toilet on the first level.
5.0 / 5.0
Hurricane interruption
It was a nice property however the experience fell short of our expectations. The mandatory evaluation spoiled the experience after just being on the premises for 2 1/2 days. The charcoal grill on the premises was a small 12 inch square grill you find in a state park. Certainly, not large enough to feed a family of 13.
