About this cottage rental
Mortehoe has been close to our hearts for some years and when we spotted Park Cottage for sale and in need of some TLC, we decided to invest our pennies in a renovation project and our first holiday let. This is a beautiful part of the country and we hope you enjoy it as much as us.
Mortehoe is a beautiful national trust village on the North Coast of Devon, spotted in between the sand-dune hills behind Morte Point, it’s within walking distance of Woolacombe and close to Lee Bay.
It's known as the gateway to a wild, remote coast with a rich history of wrecking and smuggling, and offers something for everyone; top surf, amazing walks (our cottage is located on the SW Coastal path), kayaking or cycling - and with an abundance of wildlife, if you’re lucky you’ll spot a sunbathing seal.
Mortehoe is a bustling little village with two pubs, a church, gorgeous couple of cafés with tea gardens, well stocked village stores and post office, a takeaway offering a range of home cooked healthy meals, and a fish and chip shop. The village has a children’s park and plenty of wide-open spaces to enjoy.
We are pleased to offer short breaks with a 3 nights min stay.
During peak season our min stay is 7 nights
Parking: Once you have unloaded, parking is in the village car park on Station Road EX34 7DT, a two minute stroll from the cottage.
Park Cottage is nestled in the idyllic coastal village of Mortehoe on the North Devon coast. Surrounded by spectacular vistas, serene coves and sandy beaches, and just steps from the SW coast path.
Interior designed to offer a seaside chic, open-plan space downstairs including relaxed lounge with wood burning stove, well-stocked modern kitchen, and stylish dining space opening out to the large enclosed garden and BBQ area.
Soothing coastal tones and sumptuous beds with luxury linen are designed for blissful sleep and rest. Considerable master bedroom with en-suite and super-king bed, across the hall from a second bedroom which can be arranged for guest preference as either a super-king or twin bed arrangement, adjacent to a luxury bathroom with both shower and bath. Upon request, a z-bed can be provided in either room to sleep a total of five.
With a dramatic backdrop throughout England’s four seasons; inside offers luxury furnishings and soft blankets to provide the comfiest place to kick-back in front of the fire as the wind whips up a frenzy on the surf. Whilst on balmy sunny days, open up the doors to feel the sea breeze and enjoy the garden into the night; as the BBQ embers burn out.
Known as the gateway to a wild, remote coast with a rich history of wrecking and smuggling, and for its stretch of award winning beaches, this coast offers something for everyone.
Whether surfing the waves, hiking the coastal path, or building sandcastles on the beach, we have a plentiful guide to help plan and perfect your stay. Whatever you do, soak up the serenity of this very special place and leave with a sense of peace.
Guests have kindly rewarded us with a 5/5 rating so far.

An outstanding cottage with a lovely garden, superbly located at the heart of Mortehoe. Generally well-equipped, but do remember to bring kitchen staples. Like many lets post-COVID, there is not much in the way of kitchen supplies at the cottage.

Had the best time in this beautiful house, we loved the log burner and had cosy nights by the fire!
The house has absolutely everything you would need.
The walks all around were fabulous with the most amazing scenery, we especially enjoyed our beach walks with our dog on woolacombe beach.
My partner proposed while staying here so it will always be a special place for us and will definitely return.

The cottage is decorated beautifully, really relaxing, comfortable and clean. It has everything you need as a home away from home. We were a family of four (kids aged 6 and 9) plus dog and the space worked really well for us. Lovely views to the back and loved the location, being able to walk from doorstep to Morte Point - we saw seals there. We also enjoyed Mortehoe village- pub, take-away and fish shop. We would definitely return.
The hosts are very responsive and helpful.

Great location with a combination of views, walks, peace & hospitality

Our stay in Park Cottage was perfect in every way, spacious, beautiful decor- modern but homely with a great log burner. The location was just 2 mins for our walks on the fabulous Woolacombe beach and coastal path with its stunning views. We recommend The Muddiford Inn and The Kings Arms if you are a Foodie. With Feb being out of season Mortehoe's establishments were closed so reviews and suggestions left by previous visitors was very helpful.

Park Cottage is totally perfect - it has everything you need, including lots of lovely touches like tea and milk waiting for you. Fab location for exploring the coast path and local beaches, as well as great places to eat and drink. Thank you!

Spent 4 nights at lovely Park Cottage in Mortehoe. Contemporary, cosy and very comfortable. Garden with seating and BBQ with great open views over the hillside. Coastal path on the doorstep, variety of pub, bistro and takeaway options in the village and just a mile to wonderful Woolacombe beach. Once we had arrived the car was hardly used. Remote yet central.

We booked a short break here as we wanted a short break in this country and my husband came to the area a lot as a child! We have a dog so we find it easier stay houses rather than hotels! From the moment we arrived we felt at home, the cottage is beautifully decorated with all the home comforts needed!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Park Cottage in July. It was the first time we’ve had a holiday with our 6 month old baby and the cottage suited us perfectly. It was clean, very stylish and wonderfully located with views of the coastal moorland from the garden.

We had a relaxing and comfortable weekend right on the doorstep of some amazing coastline in a beautiful property. Nearby Miss Fea's Bistro did a mean Sunday lunch and we had a wonderful evening meal at New Coast Kitchen in Croyde.

Beautifully decorated throughout- modern but homely with a great wood burner which was put to good use during our stay in Feb with logs, kindling and lighters generously provided by our Hosts.
Park Cottage feels very spacious with an open layout downstairs and the master bedroom with en-suite is just lovely. Garden is also a great size with nice views and fully enclosed ( safe for dogs and children).
