About this chalet rental
(Please take note of vehicle accessibility noted below)
A remote mountain chalet to charm, rejuvenate and discover. Each stay promises adventure and leisure among the finest the high-country-west has to offer. This retreat hidden in the western pines and dubbed “Our Lady of the Tall Trees,” will be a sanctuary for you of the warmest welcome. It is remote enough for restoration and accessible enough for whichever mountain-based recreation you desire. Nestled within 45 minutes of Grand Teton National Park, 1.5 hours of Jackson Hole, 65 miles from Yellowstone National Park and 25 minutes from the quaint Dubois, you can be game viewing, mountain climbing, lake kayaking, fly-fishing, petroglyph sighting, snow-shoeing or mobiling, antiquing, fine dinning or cozied up next to the fire at any given point of your stay. Minutes from dipping your toes in the sparkling Wind River or a stroll down the boardwalks of Dubois, you can have your mountain wildflowers and smell them too.
With northern facing double-decks boasting 270 degree views of three surrounding peaks, you’re transported to fresh mountain air and undisturbed starry night skies. Perched along the escarpment of Long Creek Road’s peaceful meadow, the chalet’s vaulted ceilings, meticulously crafted finishings and tasteful western art welcome you to rest and retreat. The property’s golden Aspen trees and regal pines will shelter you as you forage for mountain berries including elderberry and red current. The chalet features the artistic work of two noted women Donna Howell Sickles and Gabrielle Reeves; and other loved artists like Doreman Burns and M. Lee Good. Intricately hand-carved wood furnishings created by the chalet’s craftsman, John Nichols, adorn the dining and great halls. Thick Pendelton wool blankets available in any room assure your snugglability under the snow-laden bows of winter time. Quirky and modern design touches will keep you smiling and entertained. Nestle next to the great-hall fire place with a mug of cocoa, or listen to the birds and wildlife from the screened-in toasty sunroom with a glass of wine.
You're guaranteed deep and peaceful rest tucked into hospitality industry standard Egyptian cotton sheets, upon brand new king sized mattresses and surrounded thoughtfully curated interior design for your utmost comfort. Supplied with quality soaps, shampoo and conditioners, Turkish hand towels and proprietary Our Lady Blend lotion, you’ll want for none. The owners suite includes a huge walk in shower, large soaker tub with optional jet massage, and lengthy windows opening onto the meadow. Each of the guest rooms includes a king and full sized bed to configure your best stay. The two sun rooms can be converted to accommodate between one and four extra guests each. There is room for everyone’s ablutions with four toilets and two huge walk-in showers. The great hall, dining room, game room, movie theater, sun room and double wrap-round decks allow you to pursue whatever leisurely actives suit your fancy. Enjoy amenities like contactless key access, WiFi, cell-signal amplification, heated tile floors throughout, updated vinyl record player (including vintage Disney vinyl collection), gorgeous audio speaker system, outdoor grill, top of the line theater system.
The fully stocked kitchen with four ovens, gas range and dishwasher means you can cook up a delicious meal easily. Laundry also available.
Our Lady of the Tall Trees will be your new favorite mountain hideaway with capacity to host your next adventurous family vacation, romantic couples getaway, writer’s retreat or productive board retreat.

This is a rural access property - in an unincorporated subdivision of DuBois. We're a 20 minute drive from DuBois and 1.25 hour drive from Jackson.
(June-August) During the summer months, the chalet is accessible by most vehicles, All-Wheel preferred, 4x4 recommended. The road into the property is unpaved and not maintained.
(May & September) During rainy and snow months, you'll want at a minimum 4x4 access.
(November - April) During Winter you'll want to count on accessing the space strictly by snow-based mobility. You can park at the Tie Hack Memorial Parking lot of highway 20/26 and using snowmobiles, skis or snow shoes to access the Chalet. It’s about a 5 minute snowmobile ride from the parking lot to the Chalet and is roughly 1/2 mile "as the crow flies." There is room in the lot for trailers and trucks both in the lot. You can drive sleds directly from the Chalet to the trails, easy peasy. They're within 2 miles of the Chalet and a mile of the parking lot.
(November - April) During Winter the sun rooms/decks are not winterized or suitable for use.
This is actively used as a private residence. While we love to share our space with guests, it is not exclusively a rental property.

Twelve of us visited from South Dakota a four wheeling trip. We brought 3 pickups and large trailers with our machines. Getting up the road was doable and parking was tight but possible. I would not attempt the road if it rained or snowed as its just a black dirt road. The location is great for four wheeling or snowmobiling and you can ride right from the property, your pretty much right in the center of the mountain range. As far the house goes there is exvellent mountain views with very thougtful woodwork and decorations. The house is very well stocked with beds and bedding for up to 14 people. The dryer was broken but that did not affect our group. Would recommend to anyone with a sense of adventure.

Beautiful setting! Lots of room with comfortable areas to sit and relax. The decks provided amazing views. Kitchen was well stocked. Host was very timely with clear directions and pointers for enjoying the house. This is a must stay!

The location was ideal for us. The accommodations were roomy and super comfortable. The hosts were VERY easy to communicate with. I don't like posting reviews because then others will know of this little gem outside of Dubois. I will definitely be back!

Our Lady of the Tall Trees was the perfect destination for our yearly family vacation. It was as everything it showed in the pictures and more! We saw deer and foxes and the beautiful night sky all from the deck. It had everything we wanted/needed and more!

Beautiful spacious home with a great remote location. A perfect home base for a week of snowmobiling in the mountains.

Good location for visiting Grand Teton, but fairly remote. We had some issues getting up to the house with AWD, so I would definitely recommend 4x4 no matter what time of year. Great communication with host. House was well stocked with anything you may need. We wish there were screens in the downstairs bedrooms as it got warm throughout the day and was difficult to cool down. Overall decent place to stay if you have a large family/friend group visiting the parks.

We stayed in July of 2023. The house was great. With plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of towels and essentials. The house also has an extra refrigerator downstairs which was very handy.

The property is beautiful and the lotion and other tiny touches make a difference. The neighbor John is so helpful and very nice. I loved the view from the deck, the kitchen and music around the house. The house is located in an area with lots to do, hiking, horse back riding, side by side rental, white water rafting, and the Dubois Friday night rodeo. Or you can just sit and relax and look out the deck to watch the wildlife below, plenty of it. Antelope, dear, wolves, foxes, elk, and golden eagles are in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at this house. It is large, with lovely common spaces and a deck. The kitchen and bathrooms were great. It is a bumpy ride to get to the house, but very nice once you get there. Some screens were missing from windows. Even though it is not right in Dubois, it worked very well for us to attend a wedding and related events in Dubois.

Beautiful location and chalet
Enjoyed the upstairs sun room immensely! Spent every morning in there enjoying our breakfast/coffee. We traveled to Yellowstone and Jackson with ease from here as well as enjoying activities in the local area as well. Saw antelope every day while traveling in and out of the property. Also had a doe deer who frequently laid in front of the chalet and was in the area daily. Road into the property was definitely 4-wheel drive, high clearance vehicle only for the last 1/2 mile(ish) stretch. The GMC Terrain in our group would not have made it out had it rained while we were there as the ruts were deep and full of water when we arrived. Had no trouble with the Suburban going in and out, it was just slow due to the ruts and roughness as the road was tore up. House/Chalet was appropriate for our group & everyone enjoyed the stay. Would not hesitate to rent again!

Fly Fishing Week
The property provided us with everything we needed, plus. Accommodations were excellent. Plenty of room for all four adults. Probably the best place we have stayed for our annual weekly fly-fishing trip. The access road to the home is somewhat difficult to navigate, but manageable.
Thank you opening you home to us.

Love Dubois
Great house. Amazing views. Only shortcoming is the last half mile. The road needs grading. Everything else is perfect.

Great scenery and accomodations
It was a great place to stay with a short snowmobile ride to get in. Amazing place to stay off the beaten path.

We stayed in February for our annual family snowmobile trip. The home is beautiful and accommodated 10 adults and three children with ease, the home was clean and in excellent condition would highly recommend. The owners are pleasant to work with!!!

Beautiful private home
This house was really really nice, the owners has it set up perfectly for a larger group. You can fit quite a few people comfortably and it really is a high end home that pictures dont do any justice. They had everything in the kitchen that you need for meals, a huge TV in lower level for the kids and a really nice sonos system in the home for music.
The only negative for some (Which we were well aware of) is the access in the winter is tough. We parked on the highway in the TIe Hack lot and its about a two mile drive into the house. There are two ways in, via the road or a snowmobile trail. The road was mostly plowed so it was rough on the sleds and the trail was tight for towing in gear so make sure you bring the proper equipment to haul in all your stuff.
Also move your truck at the parking lot if it snows, the one person in our group didnt and he got plowed in and had a tough time getting out when we went home.

Beautiful house in the mountains
I had a great stay here, in the mountains between Dubois and Togwotee Pass. There's fantastic hiking opportunities nearby, or you can just laze around and enjoy this big, comfortable chalet. I'll admit to spending a whole restorative day reading and writing in the sun room, surrounded by windows, and looking out on the gorgeous view. The view from the deck (and the high end Napoleon grill) really makes grilling a treat as well.

Beautiful Home in a Beautiful State
The home was clean and had beautiful views. More room than we needed for 5 people and very spacious for visiting, dining and congregating as a family while at the same time allowing us all a little room to retreat when we felt like it.
Libby's detailed instructions and communication were very helpful and appreciated. There really isn't anything she did not explain well or address.
I highly recommend this home if you are looking for a remote place to disconnect and relax. Overall our family was very satisfied and we would certainly stay here again if in the area.

Backwoods House
This house sits in a wooded area on a Mountain Side. It is very beautiful and comfortable. We had three generations in our Family that stayed here (8 of us), and there was plenty of space for all of us to relax and do as we wished.
The house is fairly close to the Tetons, Lake Jackson and Jenny Lake. A bit of a drive to Yellowstone, but not bad. We also made it up to Brooks Lake, which is absolutely georgeous and not populated.
I also want to mention the Honda people in Dubois that set us up with Razors to rent for the day. They sent us on a very scenic and fun trail.
Libby was a great host! Would recommend this property to anyone wanting adventure in the Tetons, and Dubois area and don't want to pay ridiculous prices for Condos or Cabins in the Teton area.
Thanks Libby!

Fun vacation in Yellowstone
We stayed in this cabin for several nights. My in-laws came with and the cabin was plenty big enough for everyone.

Dubois Mountain Chalet
Ours was a family reunion based on hiking. The Dubois Mountain Chalet was perfect for hiking at Brooks Lake and the Grand Teton Park. The drive on highway 26 over Togwotee Pass was great. The Mountain Chalet was large with plenty of beds, kitchen and dining space and room for evening card games. The deck, four season room and dining room had great views over the valley.

Beautiful home!
This home was beautiful! We really enjoyed our stay. Communications with owners were clear and always received prompt responses. Contactless check-in was easy. This home had a lot of space for our family. We really enjoyed the decks views and being able to cook a nice dinner.

Spacious house in lovely setting
Two generations, two couples, more than enough room. Two living rooms, two sun rooms, verandas all around, spacious bedrooms on both floors. And the location provides for an easy day trip to Teton Natl Park, closer to the surprisingly scenic, charming Old West town of Dubois. We heartily recommend it.

A great family get away
Property was very beautiful and nicely tucked away in the trees. The rout to the snowmobile trail heads was not far. I recommended it to some friends for their families.
