About this house rental
Welcome to the Vermont Lake House North Bay, situated on a quiet dead-end drive on the North Bay of Lake Saint Catherine, offering incredible sunset views and private lake frontage on one of the best spots on LSC. With a lakeside patio and dock, large deck, horseshoes, fire pit, kayaks, and an expansive lawn, there is no shortage of ways to unwind and take in the serenity of this quintessential Vermont lake house, during every season.
The space
Well-kept home has been updated throughout, and includes a smartTV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, high-speed internet access (enabling work from ‘home’), a master BR with sliders to the waterfront deck, books and games, spacious bathroom, and a well-appointed kitchen with granite countertops and a double-door fridge (no freezer; bring a cooler if you’d like – ice can be purchased nearby). There is a pack-n-play, and the deck has a gate to keep little ones from going down the stairs. The lawn does have a slight slope to it, so watch the kids. *Maximum occupancy is 8 adults.
The water is shallow near the dock for wading (NOT DIVING!), and drops off just beyond the dock – great for fishing, swimming, boating, and floating.
LSC boasts some of the cleanest water in New England, and is ideally located to take advantage of everything the area offers. The LSC Country Club just across the road has a challenging 18-hole golf course and restaurant & tavern open to the public. Within biking distance are the Slate Valley hiking and biking trails, with magnificent mountain and lake views. The fall foliage cannot be beat – and be sure to check out Hick’s Orchard. In winter, reach six ski resorts within an hour, bring your snowmobile just down the road to ride, ice fish or ice skate on the frozen lake, or snowshoe on any number of nearby trails and properties. Look to the charming towns of Manchester, Dorset and Rutland, 30 minutes away, for shopping and farm-to-table dining. Want to catch a world-class concert or watch the thoroughbreds run? Saratoga is a leisurely one-hour drive! There are several breweries and a winery nearby, too.
Then come back to the lake, settle into an Adirondack chair, and – if you’re lucky enough – catch a glimpse of the resident bald eagles.
Security cameras: One outside camera on the side the main entry, to view road and driveway. Another outside camera on the rear of the house to view the lake condition. A third pointed at the slate walk away. All cameras will be on during your stay .
Need more space? Check out VT Lake House across the lake!
.
*There is no freezer, there is an ice maker that makes ice in 7 minutes, we suggest bringing a cooler and putting ice in it.
**House does not accommodate more than 8 adults. If this is exceeded, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and/or charge the extra guest fee.

The North Bay Lake House was great for our family vacation! We love Lake St. Catherine. Have been coming here for years. First time staying ant this property, and we couldn’t have asked for a better place. Beautiful house, and great location on the lake. The view from the deck is fantastic! The house came with everything we needed. Paddle Boards, canoe, and kayak available. Jesse was always so responsive and helpful when we had questions. We loved it and would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My mom and I stayed for just a few days on a visit to my son. The host was easy to get in contact with and pleasant to communicate with. The property is very nice and on a quiet place on a beautiful lake. I loved that the SUP boards and tubes were available for use. I will definitely keep this property on my favorites list!

We spent a weekend with my husband and friends. Excellent experience. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. My husband is currently recovering from surgery and is in a wheelchair. The house is handicap accessible and he had no problem to move from room to room and also enjoyed the beautiful deck. The view from the house is amazing! We definitely will book again during the summer. Thank you Jesse!

Over the years we have stayed at several lakeside properties. This one had such lovely views, short distance to lake, great kayaks and toys and a clean clear lake. The rental was sweet and compact. Had eveyrthing we needed and was such a great location. Highly recommend Lake St. Catherine and this property for a true lake vacation.

House itself has all that one needs for a pleasant stay on the water. Lake has minimal boat traffic and water was perfect for swimming. We also had fun with the 2 paddle boards, kayak and canoe. Golf course just down the road was fun: great staff, treated kids well.

Beautiful House, Beautiful Lake. Perfect for a peaceful escape. Enjoyed chillin' on the dock.

The house on the lake was clean, neat, very comfortable, and warmly inviting. It was well equipped with most everything we needed for a relaxing week. It had a nice view from the back deck, where we ate outside on the big table. The waterfront had another nice deck area and dock for enjoying lake activities. The owner was very kind and helpful when we arrived back home and realized we forgot something while packing!

We escaped to your lovely place, pre-season, for a peaceful getaway before my birthday. It was perfect! Loved the kayak, the deck, the two lower levels at the water. Sweet!!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The home was clean and as described. The beds were very comfortable and everything (wifi, tv, etc) worked very well! It would be a wonderful summer spot with direct access to the lake, a fire pit and kayaks. We'd definitely recommend it highly!
We did have a problem with the VRBO app and getting into the home. But Jesse, the owner was accessable and helped us out!

The house was as specified. We were only there in the evenings as this stay was for a ski weekend. It met our needs and was very comfortable.

We can’t say enough great things about our stay here! The home is so cozy - yet spacious enough for our family to enjoy hanging out, playing games, watching movies and cooking together. It is very clean and organized with comfortable furniture & beds. We felt very safe & comfortable here, and are already talking about rebooking for next year. The highlight of our trip was sledding in the backyard with our daughter & having fires by the lake. The hosts are very kind, helpful, and responsive, which made our trip overall even better.

Everything you need to enjoy the lake
We found this rental to be very accommodating.
The unexpected hot weather was a bit ruff with no air conditioning but fans were provided and we did well.
The deck was amazing for morning coffee, lunch and dinner.
Our daughter said "it's perfect for kids" able to watch them at the dock. The kids caught 20 fish each! Great memories were made.
We would go back again.

Lake St. Catherine is a piece of heaven!
We love staying on this lake and this house has a great location and dock. It is on a quiet northern bay north of a state park and so even on the busy July 4 weekend it was nice and peaceful. The house was cozy - but plenty big for our family of four and we had guests pop-in for day visits to enjoy the lake. We did have some typical lake house issues come up while we were there (septic back-up; water pump failing...) I think it was just bad luck and timing but the owners were very responsive, service was rendered, and the issues were fixed extremely fast! Faster than we can get service at home!

It was a nice little camp. Very clean and updated. Small bathroom and kitchen. No freezer, wouldn't want to stay long without one.. You had to bring your own sheets for the bed, which was in small print. Not what I wanted to do over a quick weekend stay. We were comfortable, though. The lake is gorgeous.

Weekend getaway
Property was wonderful. Just as described. Beautiful little cabin but felt quite spacious. Very well maintained, can tell owners take a lot of pride in it. Scenery was beautiful. Weather didn’t cooperate for fishing, but if it had, it would have been great! Nice large dock to entertain on by the water. Owners were very responsive to any questions I had about the house or surrounding areas. Would love to come back in the summer or fall. It was a quiet location, very peaceful.

We had a great time overall, despite the un-cooperative weather. We planned to ski two days but due to freezing rain and icy road, we had to stay in one of the days. The home is very cozy and comfortable. We may come again in the summer to enjoy the lake.

loved the kayaks and fire pit !
Since we were visiting in November it was a little chilly for most lake activities. But the kayaks and fire pit worked wonderfully!
We also appreciated the holiday decorating that welcomed us. Thank you!

This property had stunning lake views and it was only enhanced by the late fall foliage. This rental was extremely comfortable and had most amenities. We did miss not having a dishwasher and a freezer, but being on the water certainly made up for those voids. My husband had a wonderful time kayaking and fishing on this beautiful lake. It was also centrally located to many of the attractions we wanted to see in Vermont. Jessie was an excellent communicator and always available to answer questions.

Property is as advertised. Great location. Close to Otto's for putt putt golf and ice cream as well as Lake St Catherine CC. Beautiful views of the sunset from the dock. A must visit.

North bay lake house was the perfect setting for a laid back family vacation. We spent 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the location. The house is on a quiet street at the north end of the lake. The kitchen was well equipped, even without a freezer. The counter top ice maker and cooler that we brought was sufficient. We made light meals and grilled. The bedrooms are roomy and the beds were comfortable, just remember you need to bring your own linens. The back deck faces the yard and lake. We spent most of our time on the dock, which was great to sit on the adirondacks, do yoga, read, fish and hop in the water. The kayaks were awesome! We also enjoyed a fire in the pit, and a swing on the hammock. Poultney was a short drive to 2 great meals at Taps Tavern for the best root vegetable salad and tasty calamari, burgers and mac and cheese. Order the Bees knees special drink, if it's still on the menu! We also went to Otto's every day for quick stops, ice cream and convenience items. We went to Manchester and Dorset for shopping and enjoyed an early dinner at Barrow's House Inn and the mussel's were the best I've ever had. Our last night, we went to Slate Town Brewing for local beer, cider and pizza (get the figgy piggy!) Local trails were a few minutes down the road and quite picturesque. My son spotted an owl! I highly recommend a stay here for a relaxing, beautiful spot on the lake. We would love to come back in other seasons, as well.
