I really can't say enough about our stay at the Lighthouse at Chauncey Creek. Let's start with the home -- it was spacious, charming, updated, immaculately clean, and the owners had outfitted it with everything you could want.
The access to Chauncey Creek was fantastic. You have your own spacious dock, paddleboards and kayaks, and the water was spectacular. It's an inlet off of the Atlantic, and always calm and easy to navigate (the tide can be strong though!).
Another highlight was the ability to walk down to the famous Chauncey Creek restaurant any time you wanted. A super-casual, fun, spot. We took full advantage of the lobster, clam chowder and oysters. Also, you're only 10 minutes from downtown Portsmouth, a real plus.
A final note about the owner, Gary. He is very responsive and completely non-intrusive. The perfect VRBO host.
I almost hate to post this, because I worry the place will get too popular, but I could not recommend it more highly!

Our stay in Kittery was wonderful! The lighthouse was the perfect setting for our family's vacation to the ocean. The house was very clean upon arrival and was very well stocked! We did most of our own cooking over the course of the week and the kitchen was well equipped for all of our meals. The bathrooms and linen closets were also full of towels, sheets, and toiletries for our use. The house was very comfortable with lots of space for our group of 10 to spread out, relax, and spend time together. Steven was a wonderful host! He was very helpful and responsive!

We had a lovely stay on Chauncey Creek. The house was beautiful and perfect for our large family with a combination of kids and adults. We loved having access to the paddle boards and kayaks. The house is also just a short walk to the Chauncey Creek lobster house which we very much appreciated. We kept the windows open most of the day and had a pleasant breeze throughout the house. The owners were responsive and thoughtful. We would strongly recommend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing Maine getaway!

Fantastic experience at this beautiful home. From the welcome snacks to the fully stocked everything (!) this was an exceptional week. The home overlooks Chauncey Creek (happy hour on the dock daily to enjoy the sunset) and is perfectly located for quick access to Portsmouth, Kittery, Ogunquit, and even Portland is not too far. Enjoyed many laughs in the comfort of this great space. We are all hikers, so loved the many stairs to keep us moving. Highly recommend!!

Steven was good to work with. He was responsive and answered all our questions. The Lighthouse was as advertised and was in pristine condition on arrival. We were delighted to discover refreshments and snacks available before we had to make a grocery store run. The availability of toys and games, especially watercraft and bikes, was a very nice perk - something for everybody. Also, we had no shortage of towels or cooking equipment and utensils.
The house itself is expansive, interesting and intricate. With so many levels and so many spaces, we had plenty of options to assemble as a group or to find space for quiet time. With background in design/build (non-residential), I found the selection of finish materials and the execution of finishes to be top-notch. All-in-all, my family enjoyed our stay to the max. Thank you Steven for a great week.

Three generations of our family had the most wonderful week at The Lighthouse! We loved the private dock and kayaked every day. The house was so comfortable and exceeded our expectations in every way. We appreciated the attention to detail–including the welcome groceries and treats! Perfect location for exploring other coastal towns too. We can't wait to come back!

Amazing
We loved everything about this house! The creek is beautiful, each and every day we spent kayaking, swimming and paddle boarding off the dock. Plus reading in the shaded area and enjoying meals on the patio. Can’t say enough about how enjoyable this house and vacation were for our large family.

Exceptional Vacation Getaway
My family, ranging in age from 17-90 had all their vacation needs met at this beautiful property. Host is very friendly and left us welcome items to make us feel right at home. Everything was provided including linens, towels, bathroom products, bikes, kayaks, paddle boards, ping pong table, games etc. Walk a few yards to a quaint New England Lobster Pier, ride bikes or visit beautiful beach a mile away, and Fort Foster is a lovely hiking and picnic spot, also about a mile from the house. We enjoyed Portsmouth and York and Kittery for shops and restaurants. They house was stylish and comfortable. Beds were new and also comfortable. The house offers many nooks and crannies to relax and get away for reading or quiet time. Chauncy Creek was enjoyable for fishing, kayaking and relaxing. The elevator was very helpful for my 90 YO mother. I highly recommend renting this beautiful home and hope to return in the future.

Amazing Home
We spent the first week of July at Steven’s property and had a memorable stay. Our group of 10 had plenty of space to spread out. The house was well stocked with everything you could think of and more! Beds and lines were comfortable and of nice quality!
We enjoyed use of the kayaks and the observation deck on the 4th floor. Great location!

Wonderful location, fabulous house, great hosts!
We had a wonderful time in this well appointed and comfortable home on the creek, enjoying the various patios, sitting areas and the kayaks! Right up the road from the outlets and York beaches. The owners were more than hospitable, even showing our young grandsons the dock and relaying safety info. They even left us provisions for our first breakfast the morning after! A great stay in Maine!

Beautiful property
We had so much fun on our trip to Kittery. My husband and I took our parents on a tour through Maine and the house was the perfect location. Steven and Linda were great! They answered all of questions, gave suggestions on where to go and were quick to respond. They had fresh flowers throughout the house and even had goodies for us to enjoy on our stay. The house is clean , comfortable and was perfect for the 6 of us. I would definitely stay again.
