About this apartment rental
This Summer we are offering 25% discounts for stays of a week or more. There is a LOT to explore in the Canaan Valley ecosystem. You NEED a week!!
NOTE TO SUMMER RENTERS: A/C IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. DO NOT TRY TO COOL THE APARTMENT WITH A/C. Most nights are cool and comfortable. Open the bedroom window and kitchen door. Both are screened. We have only one or two renters in the summer, so A/C is not our priority.
How about our "STAY FOUR, GET ONE FREE" special!! Choose any 4 days, and we will (upon request) work with you to modify the booking BEFORE YOU PAY, so you only pay for 3 days (LOWEST COST DAY IS FREE! No Saturday check-in or check-out rule applies. May not be combined with 7 night stay discount. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you "instant book" before we redo the quote, we cannot refund the VRBO fees or taxes for the free day. Not applicable on Holiday bookings (days which include a recognized federal holiday) AGAIN: If you "instant book" before we redo the quote, WE CANNOT REFUND THE TAXES AND VRBO FEES FOR THE "FREE" DAY.
Conveniently located just minutes from State Parks, ski slopes, golf, fishing hiking, biking, kayaking, Davis, Thomas, breweries. And short drives to Dolly Sods and the Allegheny Front, Seneca Rocks, Smoke Hole Caverns, and one day in the future, the national hyper-loop development and test facility!
Note: The base rate is for two guests. Additional guests are $15/night/each.
First, you need to know about Canaan Valley. Take the time to research this amazing region. Canaan State Park, Black Water Falls, Dolly Sods and so much more. Oh my.... And the valley itself is an outdoor mecca of wetlands, fishing streams, hiking/biking trails, birding, not to mention the winter downhill and cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and all the rest. Nearby Davis is the highest elevation town in WV, and Thomas, just a bit farther north, is blossoming with interesting restaurants and shops too. Plus an outstanding brewery. This is vacation land in the mountains, if you are a newby.
Our cozy one-bedroom is perfect for a couple. There is a pull-out couch, but this is not made up, so the extra person or two would need to bring bedding or sleeping bag(s). 4 people would be the absolute maximum occupancy, and really not recommended.
The bedroom and carpet are all new, and we'd like to keep it this way. Shoes off at the door is preferable. Help us keep this place fresh and nice for your return visit!!
Nice covered deck offers view to the south.
Kitchen is pretty well equipped, but BYO slow cooker.
Two new Samsung smart TVs.
Internet offers "rural reliability," (not the best, especially on holidays or otherwise busy weekends) but your cell phone should work fine for calls or "casting" to the smart Samsung TVs..
Code lock for keyless convenience.

I was wanting to go to Davis West Virginia as a snow storm was heading that way and I am an adventure, skier, and by some miracle came across an ad and I got one hell of a deal and it was absolutely perfect and very affordable. I would definitely recommend this condo

Exactly as described. Close to Canaan Valley. Nice one bedroom with fold out sofa. Owner was responsive and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a long weekend with my wife and loved the place. Great location for a ski trip (about a 10 minute drive to Canaan Valley and Timberline). Place was very clean and had all amenities as described. Very cozy winter lodge feel. Check in and check out was a breeze (not having to lug stuff up any stairs was a pro). Would definitely stay again!

All very good, great host and good location for skiing at timberline, only found it quite overpriced.

Air conditioning not functioning properly, had to finish folding sheets and towels, had a mildew smell.

Nice and cozy condo. Parking was convenient and close to the room, with small bridge leading to covered, exposed hallway. Well stocked kitchen with good variety of utensils and pots/pans as well as common staples (spices and coffee filters, etc). Host was friendly & great at communicating with us, and place was comfortable for apres-ski relaxing. Water pressure and heat worked well, never a cold shower in morning or evenings.
Bed was comfortable and had warm blankets. Includes smart TV in living room and bedroom for those wanting to cast shows from their personal devices. Wifi was adequate for the location and fast enough to stream shows. Highly recommended and will stay here again!

Wonderful base camp for anything you want to do in Canaan Valley.
I stayed there with my husband and 11 year old daughter in the summer. The condo is easy to get to, easy to access. It is attractive and very pleasant to stay in. We went to multiple hikes in multiple parks, then came back and used the heated pool, which has quite a view. Another bonus, from the porch you can sometimes hear the beautiful songs of a Hermit Thrush. Enjoy.

Great condo
This was a great condo-- clean with everything in working order. It was about 10 minutes away from the ski slopes. We'll definitely be back!

Modest digs in a great location
This is a snug condo in a spectacular spot. It's quiet, comfortable, and just 10 minutes from ski areas and state parks. It's tight for more than two people; the owner bills it as accommodating four, but one couple will need to sleep on a fold out couch and bring their own linens. Bring your own soap, laundry detergent, and TP too; there's little or none of those on hand. And don't expect to stream movies over the intermittent wifi. Come for the hiking instead.

Great Place!
Really enjoyed our stay! Jim communicated everything well and there were no issues or concerns. Would definitely consider staying again in the future!

Comfortable, clean, great location
Comfortable beds (even tried out the sofa bed), enough space so it’s great for 2-3 people without feeling cramped. Handy that it has a small washer/dryer in the unit. Great location for local ski areas. The owner Jim was quickly responsive when the door code didn’t work when we first arrived. The condo is neat and tidy, but not cluttered with lots of extra entertainment, just a Parcheesi game and a couple old VCR movies, so you should bring your own books and games.... WiFi is typical rural service, as mentioned in the listing, it worked well 85% of the time. Two TVs, one with a working DVD and video player. Would rent again when we come back to the area.
