The location good for where we wanted to visit. Quiet area.
One shower didn’t drain properly. The other one went from boiling hot to freezing cold, also the lights flickered when the shower was being used, as though there was a power supply problem. The dishwasher probably needs replacing, due to the fact that plates, dishes, cups and cutlery taken out of cupboards were dirty. The cooker hood extractor fan was disgusting. Cooling fans would be helpful in the rooms all very hot. A high chair that we were going to use was broken.

Home from home. Very clean
Sofa bed not practical as a sofa

it was a great open plan layout, we could all hang out together in one space but be doing different things. Plenty of seating for 8 people, both soft seating and dining table. the bedrooms were really charming and comfortable.

The place close to the town but in the proper village with cows and meadows. Great hot tub!Owner very quick to react on issues
Require professional cleaning! Disappointed that there wasn’t a hair dryer. Some furniture, carpets and one bedroom would do with some cleaning fixing and getting new replacements. Table in the dining room should probably be painted as it’s bare wood and it’s difficult to keep clean.

A beautiful cottage located in a beautiful area.

Lovely location. Peaceful, private hot tub, good spacious rooms and very handy for Ashbourne and the peak District
It's a barn so couple of bumps on the head from the beans 😂

Hot tub was great fun for both adults and kids. Location only 20 mins from Alton towers.
Located next to a farm who was nice enough to invite kids in to see calf’s and cows.
No signal on phones and had to rely on WiFi which wasn’t the best.
Could only use one shower at a time.
Garden was nice although alot of trees which ment did not get the sun.

Nice touch, Christmas tree set up and a bottle of wine on arrival.
There is a need for extra lighting on the path down from the hot tub. Could do with more lighting near the steps and perhaps a hand rail.

The cottage is located in a beautiful and quiet location. However we did have difficulties finding the property as it has no number, and is not well sign posted on the lane. This wasn't helped by the fact that we arrived when it was pitch black. Once inside the garden, there are good signs, but it's difficult to pin point from the street and almost impossible at night. So much so that the Sainsbury driver who was delivering our groceries for the trip, could not find us and left. Not a good start to our holiday. On a plus note, the owner left us a welcome pack of tea/coffee/biscuits and wine.
The property has three good sized bedrooms, two ensuites and a separate bathroom. Great to have the flexibility to have twins or king-sized doubles in the rooms. The second ensuite is very small but has everything you need.
Hot tub a great addition. Soft beds which I liked, and comfy sofas.
As others have noted, there is an unpleasant smell in the large ensuite as if the shower has not been installed properly. I think the return valve in the shower is faulty as the drain smells are coming back into the bathroom, rather than being shut off outside. So my husband and I gave this room to our daughter and we took the smaller ensuite room. The only problem with the separate bathroom is that the ceiling is combed so much so that my two boys couldn't stand up in the shower. They are both 6ft, so if you are smaller this won't be an issue.
The main problem we all had was the heat in the property. As it is at the top floor of the cottage, and heat rises, it was very warm in the house, even though the temperature was from 18-21. Easy answer was to open all the windows, which we did, but as it's a rural location beside a farm, we were inundated with flies in all the rooms. So in the end we tried not to open the windows. A fly swat would be a great addition to the house.
The kids did not enjoy the patchy wifi coverage, but all rooms had their own TV with Netflix and Prime.
