Easily one of, if not the, best experiences with a Vrbo stay! Everything was perfect and we cannot wait to stay there again. Tom and Teresa

Second time we have stayed here. Everything is great. House, neighborhood and proximity to everything. We love staying here and it's the perfect size for us.

In a great location. Clean and comfortable. However if you are tall may be a concern. A historical home that has very low ceilings and has step-downs to several of the rooms.
Very rustic feeling.

We loved our stay at the Hobbit House. It's a charming little house in a great neighborhood, a five minute drive from downtown Columbia. Communicating with the owner was great, and the house had everything we needed.

Family visit for granddaughters 1st birthday. 5 adults slept comfortably. Very clean and very quiet. Thought there might be a lot of street noise, but were pleased how quiet it was at night. Comfortable beds. Convenient location.
Enjoyed our stay very much.

This is such an amazing property! We enjoyed reading about the history of this house in the materials that were in the living room. There were so many things we enjoyed from the comfy living room furniture to the long table for games to the patio seating area outside.
Thank you for sharing this house with everyone!

We were here for Mizzou graduation. The home is very close to campus and the downtown area. It was nicely furnished and looked very cute decorated for Christmas. We really enjoyed our stay!

The most comfortable, unique property. Great location. Truly felt like a quiet oasis near downtown. The indoor space (and fully stocked kitchen) was spot on. And the outdoor space was beautiful. The owner was proactive in all communications, and even sent us a note during our stay to make sure everything was perfect. The pictures don't do it justice. Stay here if you can! We'll be back.

The place is cute and charming. Just as described. Very clean - which I’m sure is no easy task in a historical home. We had everything we needed.
Jessie was attentive and took care of everything. As happens to everyone, a major appliance was struggling, but Jessie’s actions were quick, appropriate, and gracious. Even the gardener, who stopped by to mow, was so polite and asked if it would disturb us if he worked while we were there.
Couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Can’t Wait to Go Back
What a beautiful property! Spectacular attention to every detail. Comfy, cozy and clean. Beautiful garden was the perfect place to enjoy a beverage. The host was extremely accommodating and pleasant to work with. Close to downtown, a mall and grocery store, yet felt like living in the country. Planning future visits.

Quaint Historical home in Great location
This house was adorable and very well maintained for the age. The Hobbit House is actually quite roomy on the inside, even though from the outside looks dwarf-size.
We each had our own bed, with plenty of space in each bedroom. There are two bathrooms, one of which has vanity/toilet/and a tub, and the other smaller remodeled bathroom has a standup shower/vanity/toilet. The kitchen had everything we needed for our annual sisters weekend, tho we ate out most every meal. The living room with large smart tv was perfect for us. We did morning yoga using the smart tv, had game night in around the coffee table, and also made use of Bluetooth speaker for musical enjoyment. Sadly, due to the cold weather, we didn’t get to make use of the enclosed back porch and the large family-sized farm table.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at the “hobbit house”, in all its historical charm, and had a nice time in Columbia.
Thank you Jessie for being quick to always reply, as well as the terrific restaurant and activities recommendations!! The Barred Owl is a must for future guests, as is the famers market just down the road.

Mizzou football weekend stay
This house was greatly situated, about 1 mile to restaurants/bars/shops of downtown Columbia and about 5 mins to the Mizzou campus. Accommodations were as described, 3 comfortable BRs and 2 bathrooms. The kitchen was considerately stocked for a quick Kcup coffee and breakfast bars to start the morning. The living room and sun room areas were nice for hanging out with your group. We also used the outdoor fire pit one of the nights with the freezing temperatures. I would highly recommend this house for your Columbia adventures. Communication with hosts was very responsive and pleasant. Thanks!

Perfect place to stay for MSHSSA state wrestling weekend!
My husband and I opted for a VRBO property instead of a hotel for the state wrestling tournament and we couldn’t have made a better decision! Not only was this house more budget friendly than the outrageous prices they wanted for a decent hotel, we had so much more room….3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, full kitchen, sunroom and laundry room! The house was very clean and decorated so beautifully. Loved having the laundry room available to wash some clothes. Jessie was really great to work with. She replied promptly to my text messages and when the weather forecast was not great for the day we were traveling in, she let us make arrangements to arrive earlier. The location of the house was perfect for our plans for the weekend. We spent the bulk of our time at the Mizzou Arena and with the bad weather, it was so nice having a carport to park our car out of the snow and ice. Again, because of the bad weather, we decided to Uber to the Arena all 3 days and the location of the house for doing this was perfect! For about $10-15 per trip…depending on the time of day…an Uber driver picked us up at the back door and dropped us off at the front door of the arena…….no parking in the horribly crowded parking lot and walking forever in the snow and ice! Finally, when we left an item behind at the house when we left. Jessie kindly offered to mail it back to us. We could not have had a better experience and will definitely be back again! Thanks for the great hospitality Jessie!

DARLING HOME!
This DARLING HOME was by far the best VRBO rentals we have ever stayed in! It was extremely clean, absolutely precious, and such a perfect place for a long weekend in Columbia. We thought the communication with property manager was so personal. This precious place is one we will for sure be coming back to!

Another great stay at Hearth & Hobbit!
I was so excited to be able to book this gem again for our visit to Mizzou to see my daughter. It is so much better than any hotel! Jessie went above and beyond as usual especially when our flights got delayed then cancelled then when leaving we were delayed again! Really loved having a beautiful home and setting to enjoy the time we had in Columbia!

A trip back in time
I booked this house because I grew up in Columbia many years ago and I distinctly remember being intrigued by this beautiful cottage. I invited two close friends to visit from Chicago and help me explore this wonderful, vibrant town to determine if I would like moving back here. The answer is a resounding yes and we loved, loved the charm of the Hearth and Hobbit. The bedrooms and beds and pillows are wonderful and the kitchen is like a playhouse for grownups-beautiful upgrades while still maintaining the cottage charm! We all remarked that it was reminiscent of the English home Cameron Diaz stayed in in the movie”The Holiday.” Jessie was a joy to work with and we had no complaints or issues whatsoever. I must add we visited during one of the hottest weeks
Of the year, but the air conditioning was heavenly! You will be so happy you booked this gem, BUT if members of your party are tall, they will have to mind the entrances to the rooms. Overall, I can’t say enough good things about this vrbo and highly recommend a visit when you are in CoMo.

Best hidden gem close to Mizzou
We reserved this adorable, charming home for move-in weekend at Mizzou. It was so awesome, from the history to the garden seating to the linens! We can’t wait to come back to visit our daughter and stay in the “Hearth & Hobbit” home again. And I’ll mention that Jessica went above and beyond with quick communication and information! Just so impressed!

Exploring Columbia
Had not been to Columbia before. Just exploring it for a get-away. House was nice and comfortable. TV set-up was nice but sort of hard to understand how to use some things. Some instructions would have been helpful. Otherwise, house was nice. Kitchen handy and useful. Porch was nice to use. Laundry room was top-notch!
