Construction: Buxton Tower Top had carpenters replacing all the railings and pickets for the upstairs deck. The arrived every morning Tues-Fri so we could not sleep in or enjoy our bottom deck while construction went on all day. We informed Vacasa Property Management and were offered a 25% refund on the rental for the week which was acceptable to us.
Entrance road was covered by deep sand in places. This was not a problem for us as we brought our Jeep, but if we had brought our sedan, we would not have been able to get to the rental as the road was difficult to navigate unless you used 4WD.
We would come again to Buxton and rent from Vacasa Property Management, but would upgrade from Tower Bottom.

We loved our stay here. It’s not beach front but it’s close enough to the beach that it might as well be. You can see the ocean and hear the waves from the front porch. We LOVED that it was dog friendly which was our main reason for renting it in the first place. The kitchen has essentials (pots pans silverware glasses coffee mugs) but don’t expect extras, just plan to bring them. There are some nails that are starting to come up out of the wood in the front porch but it isn’t horrible. All in all, we had an amazing stay at this property, would highly recommend it to anyone traveling with pets who still wants beach front without paying a crazy amount of money. Loved it here! Good value for a nice rental.

Location was superb. Property dated and not cleaned when we got there. Sand piled up all around property including the outside shower. Don’t think we’d stay at this property again

Great location…Super beach vibe.

1) I thought we were getting a single house , not with renters above us with 3 dogs and banging on the floor half the night.
2) No drain stoppers in sink to do dishes.
3) Need to replace living living furniture, you can't expect a family to relax with hard-ass wickard chairs.
4) Not room for two cars when you have other renters upstairs MAKING NOISE!!!!
5) Not enough electrical receptacles
6) not enough porch chairs
7) need to upgrade cookware plus add (more pots, pans ,skillets

If you want a very short walk to a beach that is beautiful and not crowded, this is the spot.
Things we liked:
1) Location / Neighborhood
2) Parking
3) Quick access to the beach.
4) Short drive to great dining.
Things that we did NOT like:
1) Beds were uncomfortable.
2) The washer and dryer are in a shared location outside (locked room) and below the house.
3) You will hear the folks above you. How much that will interfere with your enjoyment depends on them.
4) Trash truck rolled through at 1230AM. Unknown if that is normal.

The property was clean and very close to the beach, however the upstairs occupants were extremely loud. We couldn’t even get a good nights sleep because of the noise. I would not recommend staying in the bottom unit if you are looking to relax. We actually left a day early because of this.

I was in the bottom half of the duplex. People above me had a dog that urinated on the deck and it hit me. Luckily just my feet but still not pleasant.

My family recently stayed at this property. While the house was clean and very close to the ocean we had a negative experience. On Sunday we tried to do laundry and noticed there was a significant issue with the water. It was gushing all over the floor. We called Vacasa on Sunday and they assured us someone would come out. On Monday I called two times and they assured me someone was coming. On Tuesday I called again. At lunch time we heard a backhoe pushing sand out back. To my surprise we were told there was a septic issue and needed to vacate. Vacasa was able to find us another home, but it was much farther south, not as close to the beach and they refused to adequately compensate us for the inconvenience, lost day of our vacation, lost groceries or additional gas needed. I do not recommend Vacasa as their customer service is terrible. Before renting this house I would definitely check to make sure the septic system has been repaired. I would also note the street the house is on has a significant amount of sand and the parking spots are sand and not cement. In my opinion some vehicles may have a hard time getting through the sand.

Not a lot of beach but perfect for wave watching or fishing. Cute house with just enough amenities. Will stay again. Great for the price.

Wifey and I were here first week of Oct. We didn't need anything special and that's what we got. If you are looking for the Four Seasons, keep looking. The basics are here. The AC is cool, water is hot, beds were comfortable and the beach is right across the street + they allow pets. This is a value play and it fit our needs. I will note that if there are more than 2 adults, who ever has to sit on the wicker chairs will be hurting. No cushions.
