Would have liked to be on the water but we did take the ferry to see the wild horses and lighthouse. Home was well maintained.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This lovely home is in a great location ~ can see the water from the living room, close to the Museum & Ferry, easy to get in & out of. They’ve made the most of the space - it was very comfortable for our whole family. There’s also a great back yard for grilling, etc. Kim was very communicative & helpfully, even on a holiday weekend!
Kitchen could use a few more staple cooking items, but I think they’re building that up.

It was a beautiful house. Great location, water view. Close to the ferry. We really enjoyed our stay. It had been about 5 years since we had been and it was good to see the island.

We stayed here with 6 family members for a yearly family reunion held in Morehead. The property was well-appointed, spacious, clean and updated with nice furnishings. We were very comfortable and enjoyed our time here very much.
We only have 3 suggestions: some towel bars or hooks in the bathroom,a little more attention to cleaning is needed around the bottom of the toilet at the floor and I'm not sure if the house is supposed to be smoke-free, but every time we came back to the house, there was an odor of cigarette smoke. None of these things would prevent us coming back at all. These are just suggestions. We really enjoyed our visit!

The owner was very responsive as we had one issue with the ac unit which was fixed with 2 hours. This place is perfect for families or couples. If you are looking for quiet relaxation then you have found it. Only downside was only one TV and with a teenager that wanted to play Xbox at night and the rest didn't. However, he enjoyed the local fishing pier. Harkers Island only has one small public beach so I highly recommend the ferry to Cape Lookout and the beach shuttle to the point. We also went to Sand Dollar Island. Other beaches are Radio Island and Fort Macon. There is Billy's store and Dollar General on the island but the nearest big grocery is about 30 minutes. I would recommend this vacation home and the owner.

Very clean, fully equipped home with 4 bedrooms. Definitely max 8 people with only 2 bathrooms. Only queen beds in 3 or 4 bedrooms. I wish one bedroom had king but just a preference. Bring bug repellent, mosquitos are bad outside . Home was cozy, comfortable and clean.

Great stay
The home itself is clean, well-stocked and perfect for a family of adults and those with little ones. Kim was a very responsive and helpful host.
This was our first time to the area and wasnt sure exactly what to expect. The island itself is isolated and quaint but there are a couple general stores, 1 restaurant and gas close by. The drive to Beaufort is about 20ish mins and the ferry from Harkers is just down the street. If you are looking for a nice base to take the ferry or just relax, this place is great... just bring bug spray, the mosquitoes are unrelenting, at least in July!

Seashell adventure on harkers island
We stayed and found the place to be very roomy and spacious. The place was nice but we were hoping for some beach access. We ended up going over to see the lighthouse and found a beautiful beach.

Peace and Tranquillity
Beautiful home and community. Wonderful experience for entire family, great fishing, historical sites. No immediate beach access, but several options between a short ferry ride to Cape Lookout/Shackleford Island. Other beach options within an hour drive to Emerald Isle, Indian Beach, or Atlantic Beach. The NC Aquarium at Pine Knolls. Be aware that there’s no major stores on the island other than a dollar general and local operated general store/gas stations and restaurant/grill. We loved the area and didn’t mind driving to go out to eat or attractions. If you preference a walk to the beach, large crowds, bars, restaurants, and stores on every corner you should do your research on the area before you go. If you seek peace and tranquillity this is the place for you.

Enjoyed our stay. Very Clean and close to the ferry.
Only thing we had problems with was the lock to the door would not open on the second day. The owner came out and he couldn't get it to work. He send a door man out to fix it the next day but we had the key. Also, I took the owner it would have been nice to have towel racks and something to hold onto in the tub since I'm 77 and withouts much support it was hard getting in and out of the tub.

Clean nice newly renovated property with large enough parking space to fit a trailered boat! Convenient location. There was an issue with the tankless water heater, so tepid showers for two nights, but the property manager did give us a partial refund. The property managers were easy to contact and quick to respond. Will use the property again in the future with assurance of hot showers.

Lovely place on a beautiful island
Lovely house, plenty of space. The owner was very responsive to our questions. I would stay here again (but I would make sure the hot water heater is fixed first.)

Beautifully Renovated w Everything You Need
We really enjoyed the stay Memorial weekend! Plenty of space for everyone including a nice backyard and deck area for the kids to enjoy. The beds were very comfortable and provided a nice nights sleep so we were ready for the next day. Nice view of the sound from the living room and bedroom windows. Plenty of space for two full size vehicles plus our 23’ center console. Highly recommend and we will surely book again in the future.

House is all new. Great host. The island doesn't offer much
Everything in the house is brand new. We were only the second hosts after renovation. It is roomy and bright, well furnished with all the essentials, and decorated very tastefully. The host is very friendly and responds quickly. The island is a little far from the popular touristic areas and, as such, it doesn't seem to offer much in terms of amenities. There is basically only one restaurant in the whole island. The house it's located on the main road about 1/2 mile from the terminal to the ferry for Cape Lookout. It's across the street from the sound but I didn't see a public access to a beach at walking distance. I didn't look hard as we were there for a short time only. It seems that the best option to go the beach is to take the ferry to Cape Lookout.

Harkers Island stay
My family had a great stay at Kim's Harkers Island cottage. The cottge is very close to a beautiful National Park Services park that has a lovely walking trail. The cottage was clean and well-stocked, and Kim was a great host. She always responded quickly to any questions or issues we had. Thanks Kim!
