I want to emphazise that the the Northern Lights are predicted to peak in 2025. 2021 was an exceptional year and so far 2022 has had some incredible Auroras. Generally, the peak season begins August 20-April 15. Realize that the earlier and later in the season, the darkness is less, so you generally have less of a window to view the lights. It is warmer, but your viewing period is shorter. I was just above the arctic circle for a week (Sept 2-11) and had 2 phenomenal evenings of lights viewing 4 hours and 2 hours. If you want to have a good opportunity to view the lights, check out the UAF Geophysical Aurora Forecast which can help predict peak times to have success. That being said, I have had excellent viewing with a 2 kp level. This year there have been a number of days with a 6 kp level which is extraordinary.. If you are interested in viewing or photographing the lights, let me know what you are interested in and I will do my best to help. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast

Close to the airport and great location for all we wanted to do. Not fancy but had everything we needed. Host was very helpful and attentive. Would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

It's a great place to stay, with everything we need, kitchen, laundry, parking and a nearby park. The host was very nice to us, offered tons of information about the area. Highly recommend, and will visit again next time we travel to Alaska

We enjoyed our stay a great deal. The reservation, communication and check-in process was great as Brian proactively kept us informed of everything we needed to know and responded to questions very quickly. The property was very nice as well, and everything we needed was provided. We enjoyed our stay and will stay here again the next time we are in Fairbanks!

Owner is a good friend. Also, a great Dentist! We were hoping to meet he and his wife, but time got in the way. Location is wonderful, and our extended family 70 + people were having a family reunion. We met Friday at Pioneer Park, at the pavillion, 1/2 block away
Very quiet at night, very clean, and yet in middle of the city. Obviously, 5 stars all around.

It was great! My family enjoyed staying there. Except, the diesel smell upon checking in & had to use a towel to block the smell from the laundry room and using the provided air freshners. The stove was pretty old, and when turned on, it sparked up, so we werent able to use the front big burner when cooking. But other than that, it was decent.

The home is located right next to pioneer park & close to downtown. There are few grocery stores within few mins drive. Also most of the well-known aurora viewing points in Fairbanks area are within an hour drive. If you are lucky, might be able to watch them right outside the home.
We found it perfect for short or longer stays. Brian is one of the best host we have ever seen. He was fast in responding to our queries and provided us with many good recommendations & suggestions to explore around. We will definitely be staying here in case we are visiting Fairbanks again.

Everything about staying here was super nice! The property is exactly like described and made our stay in Fairbanks amazing. It’s located really close to practically everything and almost anything we wanted to do was within 10 minutes. Two people slept in the bed and one on the couch and none of us had any complaints about comfortability. I’m not sure if it’s due to when we stayed there but this house ended up being cheaper than booking a hotel, which was a major plus as we really felt like we had our own space. Overall staying there was an incredible option and the owner was extremely nice and helped make our staff that much better!

This apartment was wonderful and we enjoyed availing ourselves of the fully stocked kitchen to make our own meals, including trout we caught in nearby lakes. The upstairs neighbor who lives there full time was friendly and approachable but not overbearing. Brian, the owner, was amazing and responsive, even providing suggestions on activities and places to check out. Walking distance to the park and other downtown attractions. Wonderful stay.

I was very impressed and pleased with how clean and well stocked this property was. Close to everything, a very responsive Owner and bonus, across the street from Pioneer Park! Easy to get anywhere from this location, highly recommend

Nothing flashy and a bit small for our family of five, but this was a perfect place for our stay in Fairbanks! Excellent communication from the host and a very nice location within walking distance of quite a few things Fairbanks has to offer. The place was clean and well stocked with everything we needed.

We previously lived in Fairbanks for 22 years, about a mile from this VRBO so were we very familiar with this area. We were there to move our mid-30 year daughter and granddaughter down to the Lower 48 to be closer to family. The unit was very clean and stocked with everything we needed, as well as some extras I wasn't expecting that came in handy. The location was great for us as well as for tourists. It's right next door to Pioneer Park, one of Fairbanks prime tourist locations. . We took our granddaughter to the park every day to take a break from the long hours and days of sorting and packing. The long-term tenants upstairs were warm and welcoming. Brian, our host was wonderful. We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years, both in the US and overseas, and I would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone looking to travel to Fairbanks, Alaska.

Decorated nice, clean. A lot of amenities. Upstairs tennant was very kind and helpful. No view as it is in the basement with stairs. Handy location for groceries, gas and dinning. A great place to land after a day of exploring.

This was a cozy, clean basement apartment, with some lovely photographs of the aurora borealis by the owner! The neighbors upstairs were very kind without being intrusive - definitely made us feel safe and supported! Kids loved having their own room (the family room space), and a table for games/puzzles. The air-perfuming products were overwhelming for me, but once we put them away the perfume smell cleared out pretty quickly and the space was fine. Kitchen worked great for us and was well supplied! Laundry was excellent. Really appreciated this safe haven during our travels.

We arrived at the property in the evening at about 8 and the upstairs neighbor was extremely helpful. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. We were here for a soccer tournament and the convenience of the location to the fields was one of the best features. Brian was very prompt to respond to any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again!

Our family of 5 (kids ages 16, 14 and 13) just returned from a week long stay at this property (March 10-March 17). From shortly after we booked through our stay, I feel the owner went above and beyond with regards to communicating with me and making sure we had everything we needed and wanted for our stay. He provided us a cot so we had plenty of sleeping options for our kids. He also answered several questions for me regarding activities in the Fairbanks and surrounding areas.
The property itself is very clean and fully stocked with bathroom and kitchen supplies. Having laundry available was fantastic as it allowed us to wash our scarves and dry our clothes after coming in from the snow. The Netflix access, playing cards and more were a nice bonus! There is also a large, private parking area which belongs to the property. The upstairs tenants, Paul and Jodilyn, were very personable and even surprised us with cheesecake and breakfast burritos. Please note this is a private rental and has separate access from the upstairs unit.
As for shopping/restaurants, there are several options nearby (including grocery, coffee and fast food) and would be easy to walk to in warmer weather. Glacier Coffee was a family favorite and has everything from a variety of coffee drinks to breakfast and lunch sandwiches.
Pioneer Park is practically next door and looked like a great place to enjoy during the warmer months.
Thank you Brian! We'd stay again!

Brian is an amazing host. He pays attention to all the details. House was clean and well kept. Communication was excellent. And he went above and beyond in sharing local knowledge when I had questions. He’s also a thoroughly nice man. Some others had mentioned a tenant upstairs: it’s probably helpful to clarify that that is in a separate apartment above, with no direct access between the two. FWIW the tenant is very pleasant and not disruptive at all, certainly no privacy issues. Highly recommended - thanks Brian!

The apartment is just as described in the listing. It is small but comfortable and well equipped. The owner was very helpful and suggested tours and activities in the area. I would definitely recommend it.

Great location, and super nice host and neighborhood
The apartment is a convenient and cozy place to stay. Brian is so generous and let us check in early and check out late. The tenants who live upstairs are very nice and welcoming. They shared their Christmas dinner with us when we arrived. When I notified Brian the thermometer doesn't work well, he called for repair man right away even thought he was on vacation, thousands miles away from home. It was far beyond our expectations.

Spring in Fairbanks
There is no place like Fairbanks when the snow disappears, the days get longer, and the sky is clear. This property is clean, convenient, and close. A short walk to fast food, Pioneer Park. Or River walk . Caring and congenial hosts. Everything you need, including washer and dryer. Thanks for sharing.

Great trip, great people
The apartment is cozy and well furnished. Brian was attentive, kind, and willing to help. We had record breaking snowfall during our trip which would have snowed us in if it were not for Brian bringing his snow plow to the house, and the upstairs tenant Paul removing snow throughout the storm. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip and staying at Brian's place. I would only say to be aware that there is a tenant upstairs so if you want total privacy you'll have to look somewhere else.

This highlight of my stay was the host Brian, who went above and beyond to check on me daily and ensured that my stay is comfortable. Prior to booking the unit, when I enquired about the internet speed and data limit (as I planned to work during the day) he went ahead and increased the speed to 200 Mbps! When I recommended that he gets an InstantPot for his guests, he placed the one he was using in the unit for me to use while the new one arrived! He explained me how the cars need to be plugged in overnight with sub-zero temps to ensure that they start in the morning, something even the car rental agency didn't bother to! After he realized that we both share a common interest in photography, he even invited me to his office to meet his colleague who is an expert at taking Northern Light picturess and I learnt a lot from him! He didn't leave any stone unturned to ensure that I have a memorable trip. Everyday he gave me recommendations of things to do and locations to go to for Northern light viewing. He is a real gem of a person and I might go back to Fairbanks just to spend more time with him! The unit is in a safe residential neighborhood and is very easy to find. Its location made it very easy to drive to usual Northern light viewing spots like Cleary Summit, Farmers Loop Rd and Chena Lakes. The unit is well furnished and stayed very warm even when outside temperature was -25F. It even has heated floors in the kitchen and bathroom! I didn't need to ask for anything more than what was already provided. There is a huge selection of spices, lots of pots and non-stick pans, cups, plates, glasses and silveware etc. The neighbors who live upstairs are very nice and genereous folks and gave me food on multiple ocassions! I was deeply touched by their gesture and hospitality.
