I lost my back pack, and Sue on reception managed to track it down for me on her FB page. Sue was my guardian Angel she went above and beyond to help me, even taking me in her own car to the Ferry terminal where it had been left. A huge thankyou to her.
Nothing specific, the weather dampened our stay and that is the UK. Scenery is beautiful.

Handy location. Exterior has old charm - I’m sure it was once a great hotel.
*Having to pay upon arrival, rather than at check out.
*Breakfast not included but this was not clear on Booking.com and staff made no mention upon arrival or during dinner of having to pre-book the night before. Member of staff telling guests numerous times “I’ve got 16 for breakfast but only 3 booked”. Really inefficient - kids and I stuck to continental for ease.
*Reception area and rooms tired.
*Bedding/mattress protectors stained.

LocatIon and restaurant on site.
Room was old, damp and dusty. If had been for more than one night wouldn't of stayed. My husband hadls mobility difficulties and wouldnt of been worth while. Nevertl stayed in such a dirty room. Holes on side of bed. Dirty pillows. Mould in bathroom. Dusty everywhere.

poor customer service, poor quality, run down, bedrooms and toilet not ideal.
tired and needs an overall overhaul - from room door locks which don’t work, to smashed bathroom tiles, faulty toilet seats, tired and worn shower units.
location not ideal due to noise from outside pub trade - bedrooms attic like and sloped roofs not for folks to be able to move about easily.
staff especially female in bar and in dining very grumpy!

Location staff view from our room and food in the Italian restaurant.
Carpet and furnishings need updating if this is rectified this hotel would be excellent.

The hotel need’s major surgery to bring it up to date. Bathroom heater was not working as a result the bathroom was freezing

I had occasion to stay in Argyll hotel on 24th December and 31st December 2022. The building is architecturally pleasing. I was delighted on both occasions to find that the heaters were already on in the rooms, and the rooms lovely and warm. Everything was sparkling clean. The shower had very good water pressure. Staff were welcoming and friendly. I had dinner in the restaurant both times and the food was tasty. I ate breakfast there on one of the stays, and the full cooked breakfast was very good. This is a boutique style hotel, in a historic building. The price was very reasonable. Don't expect five-star levels of amenity - you'd pay several times as much for that. There is free WIFI for internet and it was rock solid (I had a little trouble connecting, but that is the fault of my new laptop, not the hotel's WiFi). I had a comfortable stay which met my needs perfectly, staff were nice, and I'd happily stay there again.
On my second overnight stay, Room 119 had only one hanger in the little wardrobe. This was not a serious inconvenience, however!

Location
The room was dirty, decor very tired. Shower was disgusting. Tiles and grout thick with black mould and bathroom door didn’t close without pushing it very hard. Check in was very slow. Too much furniture in a small room. No staff at check out. Carpet dirty with lots of stains. Lightening was shocking! Bulb above mirror was very low wattage and yellow. No ceiling light and very high wall lights which were pointless. Staircase was very dated and did not have a nice smell. Lift is very old and tiny!

It was close to the stores and the ferry.
My room was facing the bar across the street and I was woken up by people yelling and talking very loud until 3 am.
The carpet in the room was dirty and stained.
The bed mattress at the top was stained.
The cover for the light by the bed was dirty.
When you went downstairs to the restaurant the girl was very slow and you didn't get served right away.
One day myself and another couple waited for 10 minutes or so before someone came to the table. The other couple declined breakfast.

Staff couldn't do enough, Xiao is absoluely lovely. We've been to this hotel before (many times) and we will be back again. The view is spectacular, just a shame the window could not be lifted a little higher to fully appreciate it, but we understand 'safety first'.
We've never really had anything bad to say about this place.

Right in the center .
Had to pay separate for breakfast. Think it should be encluded in the room price.

Friendly, efficient and professional staff. Good location on the Loch front and free parking across the road. Easy access to the hills. Comfortable rooms, good wi-fi and TV, coffee and tea making facilities……excellent!! 😀
It worked for me, thanks.
