Good location and beautiful building and grounds
Didn’t like the plastic chairs on the terrace. Would have been better if you gave customers seat cushions to put on them.

Lovely fresh breakfast was served in a nice dining room which is also a restaurant in the evening. Comfortable bedroom, large bathroom with separate toilet. Good secure parking. Close to town,

Breakfast menu presented on day 1, then same food reappeared each day. Should have changed it but staff not always available.
1. Room too small for 2 people and faced road. Smallest room in hotel. We were there for 5 nights, booked well ahead of time and should have been given a larger room.
2. 16.00 is very late for checking in - most hotels receive at 15.00 and some at 14.00. We arrived 25 mins early and were given a charge of €60 for this early arrival. We complained and, to be fair, nice staff member waived the charge.
3. Our room wasn't serviced on our last day. Our French is limited so we thought when someone asked if we needed attention to our room that they meant a change of sheets. We said no so were rather annoyed to find room as we had left it in the morning.

Staff were excellent and friendly
The room was just too small - tucked into the attic with one small window. The room was not value for money

Excellent. Clean and chic dining room.
Shower room a little small.

The location was superb for a town centre hotel, with well-maintained spacious grounds. We believe that it has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. To arrive after a 4-hour drive and find our table on their sun-drenched terrace waiting for us lifted our spirits.
The following morning I felt unwell and they expressed empathy and suggested that we take advantage of the gardens and stay on as long as we wished.
Well worth a diversion if you are in t
that area.
The bedrooms on the roadside suffered from some late night revellers and early morning traffic.

Rooms were a little small but well equipped, service and the restaurant were all great although would grade the location and hotel overall more of a top three-star than a 4-star to be fair. Beds are comfortable and the Air-Con is good. Wouldn't have any issue with staying here again if in the area.
Rooms are a little small / tight and the location is not what we thought or expected as the hotel is located down a residential side road of a relatively large town. We thought it was a little more in the country but it wasn't an issue.

Walking distance to historical sights, medieval town , shopping and restaurants. Staff was very helpful and their food very good but we thought a little pricy.
Our room was in attic area or 2nd floor (3rd by American standards and very warm). The air conditioning would not go lower than 72 degrees as the hotel has it set very high therefore did not sleep well. Opened the small window but did not help much.

The hotel is a spendid old house with a large garden, located within easy walk of Moulins town centre. There is ample secure parking in the grounds. The building has character yet has been sympathetically converted and is now warm and comfortable. There is a small lift if you need it. The inhouse restaurant is small and very popular with locals as well as guest, so you need to book in advance.
We particularly enjoyed watching two beautiful jays gathering nesting materials right ouside our window at breakfast.
The only thing that could have been improved was the delay for service at dinner. We'd booked for 7.30 and it was after 9.00 before we ate. The reason being the lack of staff for service. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and this shouldn't put you off staying. On the plus side, it gives you time to try out more of the excellent wine list.
There seems to be a descrepancy between the price of the rooms and the figures shown on Booking.com. The receptionist explained that all their rooms are the same price and when we compared my view of the hotel availability with hers, the same rooms were showing at different prices. Fortunately, her prices were lower.

The hotel was just on the edge of the centre of Moulins. It was great to wander into the town through narrow streets with individual shops and cafes that were busy and enjoy the atmosphere of the town centre, drinking coffee and kir in the sunshine!
Absolutely lovely people running the hotel who were so helpful, kind and friendly. Very easy to get to on our way south, to the alps.
The food was excellent and the room was comfortable with a great bathroom and bed! Really clean too.
We will definitely go back there.

Great location and a michelin star level dinner with good but expensive wine list
Our room was in the eves of the hotel so i had to stoop to get into bed to avoid hitting my head on the sloping ceiling

The hotel has a very nice and authentic atmosphere, the room was spacy. Very nice and enthousiastic ladies who run the business. The garden is marvelous to sit and relax, read and talk. We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!
