About this house rental

The Maiden Rock Barn is an ideal place to gather with friends, family or to spend some time alone. Located in the beautiful countryside of Maiden Rock township, WI, at the top of Pine Creek Rustic Road known for it's great birding and trout stream. Maiden Rock Barn is a few miles from the Mississippi River/Lake Pepin. The Barn is a short drive from the river towns of Maiden Rock(5 mi), Stockholm(7 mi), Pepin(11 mi) and near the birthsite of L. I. Wilder; 20 miles from Red Wing or Wabasha.

The space
The Vacation Rental is a 1500 square foot, walk-out apartment with a Southwest facing patio. The interior has a spacious living area with a gas fireplace and satellite TV leading into an open kitchen with a harvest table for gathering. There are two private bedrooms with comfortable queen beds and another queen bed under the back stairwell. The outdoor area has a fire-pit and charcoal grill for the guest's enjoyment.

The owner lives upstairs, but there is no shared space. The vacation rental is completely separate with its own entry and parking space.

Booking Rate based on double occupancy with additional fee per each additional guest.

This is a very modern update to a farm barn. The three Queen beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets. The three large dogs were very friendly The cat never came close. Very clean unique place. Be sure and buy food before you get within 30 miles as there are few offerings any closer. There is a small grocery in Stockholm and a C Store/liquor store at a cheap gas station in Maiden Rock.

We can't give Brenda and Maiden Rock barn enough stars! She was very fast to respond and gave us tons of suggestions and tips for our vacation. The Barn was so private, we felt like we were the only ones there (along with her sweet and very friendly dogs) :-) Place was immaculate, so well stocked and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed coming back to the Barn and relaxing as much, if not more, as going out and about. We highly recommend staying here!!

This is our 4th time staying at this location- Brenda, the owner, is always helpful and communicative. The property itself is located in a beautiful location- close to the Mississippi River and centered between lots of quiet towns to explore. This is the perfect place for a girls weekend or a quiet couples getaway.

The barn was great. The location was very close to a number of small towns that had fun things to do. It was clean and comfortable. The owner was quiet upstairs but helpful and available by text. She stopped out once to make sure the dogs weren't bothering us... They weren't. My kids loved playing fetch with them. We didn't get to use the fire pit because it was so windy, but we would definitely come back next time we're in the area.

What a cute rental this was. We had everything we needed than some. Nice area to go for a walk nearby as well. This is an old barn. That has been renovated and was absolutely adorable. Would highly recommend.

Very spacious, welcoming, and comfortable space. We appreciated the star-filled sky, shooting stars, the fire pit, mornings on the patio, good sleep in comfy beds, nice shower, comfortable living room with a welcoming gas firplace, high ceilings, open space, privacy, fresh country air, conveniently close to the Maidenwood wedding venue, games at the table, convenient parking, and playful labradors, wifi, TV, sliding barn doors - everything really. Upstairs owner was quiet and respectful, even though we were not always quiet. 4 steps to the bathroom (for those who need mobility) and a very small step at entrance. Probably the best place I have ever rented. Owner only gave us one easy task (to put towels in the washers) and left us a stack of menus and brochures rather than a book of rules. I highly recommend and would definitely enjoy coming again.

My party and I loved this open concept property tucked away in Stockholm, IA. The owner was very communicative and provided us with tons of suggestions for activities and restaurants to do in the area. Huge bonus points for the almost zero light pollution in the area which made for excellent stargazing. Thank you again for sharing your lovely home :)

This property was everything it said, and more. We were in the area to celebrate our anniversary, and found this property to be just what we needed for a relaxing stay. The property was peaceful and quiet, and the barn was furnished with everything we needed. The owner even had shampoo and conditioner for us, which was perfect since I forgot mine at home. I will recommend this property to everyone, and will definitely be renting it again in the future.

The property was beautiful, the barn was amazing. Gorgeous decor, all of the amenities, including great a/c on a hot summer weekend. Beds were very comfy, patio had a fire pit and a table to eat outside. We loved our stay as it was so quiet and relaxing and we loved being greeted by their very friendly Labradors! That made the stay even more enjoyable! It was also close to the fun downtown of Stockholm. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone!

This place was magical for us! My husband and I spent the weekend celebrating 22nd wedding anniversary. During a very hectic time in our lives we needed a place to just get away and reconnect without having to be running constantly. This place was the hidden gem that we were looking for. And to make it even more special we love the welcoming committee~ the two white labs were so fun to have around and make us feel at home! I told my husband that I could live here!! The barn is close enough to towns to check out but far enough away to feel like you are getting away! Perfect in every way!! 😊

My sister-in-law and I stayed for two nights. After our first steps thru the doorway, we could see how clean it was and how much attention was paid to detail. Beds were very comfortable, every kitchen utensil you can think of was supplied, the indoor air quality and temp was perfect, and the dog is super friendly. It was a great place to stay!

The Maiden Rock Barn couldn't have been a better place for my husband and I to stay, relax, and enjoy an Anniversary Stay-Cation!!!! First of all, Brenda has done an amazing job at remodeling this Barn!!! It's GORGEOUS! And so comfortable! It has everything you need! Including fun bonfires in the evening. :) We enjoyed our time in this secluded & quiet spot so much that we booked it again in mid-October when our daughter is home to visit. Brenda was fantastic in sharing her sweet dog and farm kitties; as well as great ideas for walks around her area, a fabulous bike ride (Red Cedar Trail) starting in Downsville and visits to both Villa Bellezza Winery and Lucette's brewery/brick oven pizza. Brenda is a fabulous host and a genuine delight to work with.

This was a delightful place for a Sister’s getaway. The accommodations are very clean, with comfortable beds, lovely decor, a well appointed kitchen, and are all nestled in beautiful farmland surroundings. Brenda was friendly, responsive and respectful of our time together. You cannot get to Maiden Rock Barn with traveling on at least one gravel road, which we thought added to the charm! Highly recommend for a secluded spot to stay when visiting the beautiful Lake Pepin, Pepin, Stockholm and Maiden Rock areas.

We loved our stay at Maidenrock Barn. It was cute, clean, & spacious for 2. It had everything we needed, and was very comfortable. Beds were wonderful. Pillows were nice and soft. And the dogs that live on the property were friendly. And when we did have a question, it was answered promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!!!
