For the price, a very good small hotel. Excellent location. We were visiting an exhibition at the Ställe which was aleasant 20 minute walk away.
Breakfast was a little limited but fine

It was very hot when I visited, but they has a fan inside the room to keep cool!

Location was excellent; we could walk to grocery store and cafes very near by.
Staff wasn't particularly friendly, and parking was very difficult.

The stay in general was great. Friendly staff, decent breakfast and a really good location. The bed was pretty comfortable. Since the hotel building is pretty old, there's only a service elevator and a pretty steep staircase, be prepared for it.
I guess my only complaint would be the lack of the A/C unit, or I just haven't figured it out. I visited during a quite warm period, so just slept with an open window and closed the rolls for the day.

Great location - quiet, central, good shopping nearby. Pleasant and efficient room, though a bit warm without cross flow ventilation or AC. Nice breakfast and helpful staff.
Warm at night.

Excellent, friendly and efficient staff. The Maingau is in a great location and I always enjoy returning to the hotel for its peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with very good showers.
I would have like to have been able to make a cup of tea in my room but that may be a reflection of the room/budget I booked as I am sure the last time I stayed this facility was included.

great location in a cool part of town
pillows were terrible, and room was very cramped

The location was fantastic! Easy to walk to the Old Town centre & to the museum area. Loved being across from the park & near Sudbahnhof. Very convenient.
The room was light & spacious. Having windows that opened was wonderful, although the wine bar across the road was a little noisy in the evening. That didn't really bother me too much though.
I suspect in hot weather it could be very warm in the room with no airconditioning but again, with opening windows & mild weather I had no problem.
Bathroom was cozy but had a good sized shower.
The bed was fabulously comfortable.
Breakfast was fine. Not excessive but perfectly satisfactory & plenty of choices.
Staff were very helpful & friendly after seeming a little reserved initially. Perhaps that's a cultural thing though? Everyone at the reception desk spoke excellent English which was very helpful for me as my German is terrible.
Some great restaurants within an easy walk.
Having to lift my suitcase up & down stairs to reach the lift was not easy & there was no offer of assistance from reception staff. Equally, I didn't ask, so perhaps my fault.
Had to ask to have my room made up each day which is probably a good way to reduce the work load on staff but not so great as a guest. In addition, one day the duvet had been folded for me but the sheet hadn't been straightened - one of the things that drives me mad but is really not a big deal overall!

Great location, close to all historical places of Frankfurt. Excellent cost -benefit.

Perfectly located private hotel in the heart of Sachsenhausen next to a nice park

Separate elevators serviced different sections of the hotel so had to travel to lobby and back up to pick up family.

We arrived at the hotel around 19.15 on Friday night. In the first room we were given there was hair both in bathroom floor and in the bed. We notified the receptionist, but i assume it was due to language barrier, he was very offensive and kept telling us that he is not the cleaner and if we want our room to be cleaned we need to tell him in the morning not at 7pm. I guess he forgot that we just checked in. He was very upset, kept moaning, asking us again and again if the room was clean, and gave us another room. I would just accept an apology instead of being told. The second room was cleaner, hair free bed, but the shower was located inside the room instead of bathroom itself and there was a heavy sewage smell. After his reaction i didn't mention him anything and just left the window open. As a result of that the room got super cold at night of course when it was minus outside.
Apart from that, the bed was very comfortable, we didn't try the breakfast so i cannot comment, the location was perfect. Few minutes to walk to historic & business district, very lovely area on the south side of the river, with lots of cool bars, restaurants, cafes around. Also it is so accessible from the airport. It was 20 minutes on the train to the Frankfurt south station and a shortish nice walk to the hotel. The area seems to be super safe.
The rooms could have been cleaner, and the receptionist could have been better at handling requests/complains instead of telling off a pregnant woman.

The location is excellent because it is within walking distance from the city centre and many restaurants and shops. The guy at the reception was very pleasant and helpful.
Our room was very small. Breakfast was decent but there is plenty of room for improvement.

great room size and excellent value for money in the centre of town.
the reception guy was the rudest hotelier in 30years of travelling! he was sulky, kept us waiting 10” without apologising. then spoke in monosyllabic answers. when I asked for help with my heavy bag he said “no. we’re not a 5 star hotel. “. he was so very bad tempered and downright rude throughout the Check In process. I understand we all have bad days but it was my first - and based on this last! - time in Frankfurt. if you don’t like the public don’t work in the service industry!

I have choosen this hotel by its location
The room sold as a room for two people, but it was too small and very uncomfortable. It has been designed with contempt, disdain and disgust to the future guests. For instance, you will have no possibility to hang up your hands towel anywhere near the sink, or you won't be able to place your bath towel anywhere near the shower, but just on the floor. There is no airconditioner in the room. At night you'll have to choose either to charge your phone or to switch on the fan, as there are not enough electric sockets. The breakfast is a shame for any German - Brötchen and Croissants were hard (not even from yesterday), roastbeef, pate and scrambled eggs looked like borrowed in a charity canteen at the end of their day. WiFi is available, but it is occillating, so my VPN connection for work went down multiple times per hour.

There was no air conditioning in the rooms and rooms were incredibly hot and humid.
