About this cottage rental
Welcome to Birch Narrows Cottage! Our family bought this charming cabin on Daggett Lake in June of 2020 and made several updates while maintaining that up north cabin feel. There is new flooring throughout the cabin, brand new comfortable furniture, freshly painted walls, the kitchen completely redone with new countertops and brand new appliances. During the winter months we have 3 bedrooms and 1 bath in the main cabin. From April 1st through October we also have a beautiful guest cabin. See description of the guest cabin below.
We have 3 Bedrooms on 1 level. There are two Queen Suites that are both lakeside with unbelievable views. The 3rd BR is a bunk room with full sized beds up and down. The kids will love the bunk room! We also have two queen sleeper sofas, one in the living room and one in the oversized master bedroom for younger kids if they want to be in mom and dad’s room!
The views of the lake are just beautiful from each of the Queen Suites and from the living room. Cozy up in front of the gas fireplace in the living room, enjoy a game of cribbage at the family style dining table, or get lost in a good book.
There is a 2018 Bennington Pontoon SLX Premium at the property with a 115hp motor (21 feet) for additional rent if you wish to cruise the chain of lakes or go to dinner at one of the 4 water accessible restaurants (The Wharf on Rush Lake, Zorbaz on Crosslake, Moonlite Bay on Crosslake or Manhattan Beach Lodge on Big Trout Lake) or just do some fishing with the kids. We also have 4 SUP's (2 adult, 2 Junior), and 2 kayaks for your use.
New in 2021 was a completely renovated bathroom in the main cabin with a new vanity, new tile throughout and a large walk-in shower.
We are also very excited to have finished our guest cabin in May 2021 which completed our property. We built a 350 sq foot guest cabin for our guests, or a place to put the kids during your stay. In the guest cabin you will find beautiful oversized windows with some lake views, but more importantly a large bunk system with 2 queen beds on the bottom and 2 full sized beds on top. The guest cabin also has its own 3/4 bath. We expect to have families of 4-6 sleep very comfortably in the guest cabin, or have it be a great clubhouse for the kids during the stay. It has a mini split for air conditioning or heat depending on the season! Our guest cabin will NOT be available for rent from November 1st- March 31st 2023 (3-season use only).
There is a Weber Genesis 4-burner grill for your enjoyment. Fire pit with wood included also on property!
Let our up north getaway be your oasis from the stresses of life! The beautiful trees, proximity to Crosslake (2.7 miles) and full access to the Whitefish Chain of Lakes.

The property was as described and the owner was a great communicator. The 2nd cabin was great for the 6 kids. They had a blast

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the property exactly as described and Jason, the owner, a pleasure to work with and extremely responsive and genuinely interested. Everything in the house worked fine and the location was great - quiet part of the lakes in front of the house and easy access to the busier lakes for cruising around. We'll be back to stay!

Great property for a large family or group. We really enjoyed the lake! The close proximity to Crosslake was great for a grocery run, there is also a wonderful playground which our littles enjoyed. Communication with the hosts was amazing!

You cannot beat this place, great location!!! Awesome view, great to place to travel by boat, awesome bunk house, all around a wonderful experience!!

The lake home and guest house were perfect for our family. The outside seating on the deck was a favorite of ours every morning and evening. We rented the pontoon and really enjoyed the lake. We used the kayaks one night and wish we would have used them more, but just having them as an option was great. There was a nice selection of games, puzzles and DVD’s. The only drawback was that we didn’t stay longer. Our Texas family had a first time MN up north experience that will forever stay a top memory! It was an awesome place. There was sufficient kitchen items…and plenty of toilet paper and paper towels. That may seem trite but we have stayed at some places that barely have one role each. :)

We enjoyed our stay at Birch Narrows! Kids loved fishing from the dock & swimming. Beautiful location, the furniture on the deck was so comfortable. The large kitchen was great for making meals. We also enjoyed playing Kubb in the backyard. The little cabin was great….plenty of room.

We had a wonderful time at the lake over the Fourth of July! Jason made sure we had everything we needed and the process was very smooth from booking to check out. We loved staying on Daggott (previously stayed on Cross and Trout) and enjoyed the quiet lake and neighborhood for morning walks. Plenty of space to gather with family for meals and great open concept kitchen/living area. Thanks for a great stay!!

We snuck in a last fall weekend before the Minnesota snow. Myself and 3 teens, hiking and mountain biking nearby at Cuyuna, paddle boarding and kayaking from the dock, will bring jet skis this summer!

We had a group of 12 girls stay here for a bachelorette party. The property was beautiful, the cabins were clean and it was in close proximity to town - everything we were looking for!
Jason and team were very responsive and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property!

We really enjoyed Jason’s rental. The property is in an amazing location on the lake and has excellent views. The bunk house was perfect for our other family to stay and have their space when the kids needed to go down for the night while we stayed in the main cabin and played cards or games. Will definitely be staying again!

The main cabin and the guest cabin (or the bunk cabin) worked very well for our family. The large deck has comfortable seating and the best view we have experienced in our past 20 years using VRBO. We used the pontoon every day to explore a chain of lakes we had never been on before. Stopped to swim at sandbars and to eat at the many restaurants nearby. So much fun for all of us !

Enjoyable stay at Birch Narrows Cottage. Jason was extremely prompt to respond to questions and was reliable and helpful to repair the gas grill quickly. Our group of 10 enjoyed the quiet location (no wake) in front of the cabin which was perfect for SUP. The cabin is located close to the town of Crosslake for groceries, restaurants, gas and a coffee shop.

Wonderful Property!
We had a lovely stay at the property! Our group included 10 adults and 2 children. We all stayed and slept very comfortably. The property was spotless, well-stocked and beautifully decorated. We also rented the pontoon to explore the expansive Whitefish Chain of lakes. We will absolutely rent this property again!

Perfect Weekend!
Annual trip to White Fish Chain of lakes and this property did not disappoint! 10 of us fit comfortably in the main cabin and extra outside cabin area! The cabin was well equipped with everything we needed inside AND outside! The location was perfect! We were able to rent the pontoon right from the owner saving the hassle of trying to find one to rent close by! We will definitely be returning!

Friend Getaway
This property is wonderful! We had 14 adults and we all had enough space for sleeping and moving around the property. Especially loved the deck seating and access to a great fire pit! Close enough to town if you forget a couple things or are wanting to explore. And the view of the lake is gorgeous and calm! Will definitely visit again when the temps are warmer!

Great setup for a bigger gathering
Aside from the beautiful patio (with ample seating) and the view of the lake, the sleeping situation was perfect for a larger group.
We had a group of 7 women -- everyone had their own bed, and we had one bed to spare.
The home and property were very clean, and Jason was quite easy to get ahold of.
Definitely recommend this VRBO!

Perfect Weekend
Our girls weekend was spectacular!
My sister is struggling with cancer and my daughter in-law is 8.5 months pregnant so a weekend away to relax and just be girls (ages 25-65) was what we all needed.
The cabin was beyond our expectations, and we aim high.
Everything from the view, the cabin and fantastic bunk house, perfect!!
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us.
Definitely coming back.

This place is even more beautiful than it appears on the pictures! It was very spacious and accommodated our group of 11 with room to spare. 50th Reunion
Beautiful location on Daggett lake. Excellent views, superb deck and terrace overlooking the lake. Clean, modern and comfortable. Would have enjoyed a dishwasher but four 68 yr old guys who've been coming to the Cross Lake area for over 50 years together at a family cabin do know how to do dishes!
We had a great stay. Highly recommended.

Such a wonderful stay
I booked this for family who used to have a lake cabin in the area. It was so great to have our own “lake place” again even if it was just for a couple days. The home was clean, the neighborhood quiet, the lake beautiful. We took advantage of the pontoon and the beautiful weather. The host was available and responded quickly to communication. I cannot recommend this property enough.

Adorable and great location
Our annual famiky women's weekend was a success here. The home and bunkhouse were perfect for 9. The bunkbeds were fairly easy to access and very comfortable once you did. The deck overlooking the dock and channel was perfect. Seating for 8 comfortably and an easy walk down to the water. Everything you need was found in the kitchen and pantry. Jason (and neighbors) were kind, prompt, helpful and great hosts. To sum it up, stay here-- you won't regret it! It was clean and super cute!

Great location, quiet, scenic and easy access to all lakes and open water for water skiing. Air conditioned both the home and new bunk house. The teenagers loved the bunk house with everything that was needed. We rented the pontoon and it was great for the family to go and do whatever they wanted. Water was clear and swimming was great for all especially for our young competitive swimmers to work out every day. We would recommend this site to family and friends.Alice and Tom

Best hosts ever!
This is a well kept property in a great location. Owners provide all amenities one needs-something we have never encountered in the past 10 years of renting. The new bunk house was a great addition, grandkids loved it. Would recommend renting their pontoon, we used it daily. The owners hospitality was simply the best!
