1688 Keystone Gulch Estate is a great home. It has all the luxuries of a top-notch home. The home layout has two bedrooms downstairs with a shared claw foot tub in the middle. Upstairs has a bunk room with bathroom and a HUGE master bedroom. The home has a great garage, living room, etc. We were fortunate to see a moose in the backyard!

I've tried submittng 3-star reviews which SkyRun blocks. So let's see what happens if I submit a 5-star review that contains truths about this property. We had 20 guests staying here over the July 4th holiday last month. The kitchen is beat up with damaged cabinetry, dated black tile countertops, and is very small. Too small for our large group of about 20 guests. When I say beat up, it has big chunks of wood taken out of the corner cabinet. The black tile counterops and smooth top stove never really feel or look clean. There's only enough room in the kitchen for 2 people and no prep space at all. Most of the main house has a deep pile carpet which is stained and looks terrible after a week of staying in the home even though we vacuumed it. When we called to have the trash bins emptied 3-4 days into our trip, Keystone told us they wouldn't empty it until we checked out (4 days later). It was lovely having smelly trash in the garage for several hot days, and we were unable to park cars in the garage due to that problem. Guests should not have to go find trash dumpsters at this price point. The guest house accounts for 3 of the 8 bedrooms advertised. The guest house walls are paper thin with cheap industrial carpeting and hollow floors. The bathrooms are very tiny and rival a cruise ship in size. The Wifi worked great. The TV/sound system was byzantine in complexity and basically didn't work. If you don't want your guests watching TV (like me), maybe this is a plus. We had to use some of the HDMI cables in their media cabinet to try and work around the problem. The locks to the bathrooms were challenging with a small pin that has to be pushed in to "lock" the door. But you're never quite sure if the door is locked. Our guests complained about being worried they'd be walked in on. Main level guest rooms share a "jack and jill" style bathroom with an enormous claw foot tub/shower. Very impractical if you have elderly guests trying to stay on the main level. The younger guests found it weird. There's almost no storage in the kitchen if you're trying to feed 15-20 people each night. We wound up trying to repurpose the foyer coat closet to store food/supplies for the week. At least 3 of the bedrooms feature pull-out beds (two in the main house, one in the guest house). There's a pull-out bed in the loft as well. If you have guests with back problems, just be aware that some of them will be camping. The kitchen table was nice and large, probably the one thing we liked most about the house. Easy to seat 10-12 people and use the folding card table as our "kids table". The outdoor space wasn't very usable. It has a narrow tile/concrete patio with just enough room for the grill and 1-2 people to stand. The lower patio is also narrow, and holds a small outdoor table. If you're planning on doing a lot of outside sitting in a summer rental, there's just not a lot of space for that. The deck on the small guest house is actually really nice, but the main house forget it. $10 says Keystone doesn't publish this review. They've failed to publish the last two.

Great House for Large Group
Great House for Large Group
We had 12 people stay in the house and it was a perfect size. We loved sitting by the fireplace and using the hot tub, We even saw two moose that strolled right past the front door and into the backyard. It was about a 10 minute drive to the resort side of keystone and not too far from a grocery store or any shops. We drove to Breckenridge, which was about 25 mins and Vail which was about 35. Great experience overall. Would return.

Beautiful home! My only suggestion is more towels! There wasn’t even close to enough towels for 12 people. Mattresses were not the best as well. Other than this it was a great home!
