Friendly helpful staff.
Great bar facilities.
Good food.
It’s a proper old school social club.
The double bed mattress was really uncomfortable.

Could do with a major upgrade and deep clean

Staff were very helpful and friendly, room was very clean.
No tea or coffee making in the room. No cups or glasses for drinking water. Very basic amenities. Thin walls, noisy neighbours. As there's no 24 hour reception cover, you can't complain.

Close to Villa Park Stadium for work
Mattress was quite thin and very hard

It is very quiet spacious room and very comfortable room . large parking area
entrance towards rooms from 1 to 11 is little awkward as you need pass through the common area although once you entered it's give you very pleasant vibe .
and the WiFi its not available into rooms it's only for common area that's not a good thing.

We booked the Aston Inn at very short notice due to work running over whilst in the area, I am always apprehensive about booking rooms attached to a pub but The Aston Arms was a very pleasant surprise. Big free carpark, very big bar area with full size snooker and pool tables. Quick and pleasant check in, room was very well presented, clean bright and had everything you would require for a comfortable night. For the price we paid for one night it was well worth the money.
We arrived late and the car park is not very well lit, feels a little unsecure but we had no problems. If I had a work van I am not sure I would be happy to leave this here. Food was limited and I am not sure what meat the burger we ate was made from!

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is great. Food is basic but enjoyable and great value. Rooms are bigger than expected. Quiet location.
A few little things, no kettle in bedroom. Dusty top shelf in wardrobe. No shelf or towel rail in bathroom. Toilet roll holder behind toilet so not easy to reach when on toilet. No air conditioning.

Next to Villa park great location.
A bit rough and ready but did what it said on the tin !!

Absolutely nothing.
One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, the windows still had mold. The heating didn't work, the TV didn't work. I understand the price isn't high but I least expected working heating, especially during winter times. I hope this gets a proper check-up because this isn't acceptable. After 12 there is no one you can ring so if you happen to lose your key, you will be sleeping on the street.

Ideal location as I was attending a Conference at Aston Villa Stadium.
The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
The food choices were limited due to my late check in at 7pm.
No kettle in the room.

I liked most of the staff. The staff were very lovely. The drinks I had were nice as well. Good hot water in the shower. If you’re there overnight definitely recommend.
I understand they have policies and cleaners have a certain timeframe to clean rooms but I really think that checkout should be a bit later and there should be more leniency. The room was very cold as was the pub itself unfortunately.I was to attend an event there today and I ended up being 3 hours early. Maybe a booklet on how to get in and out of the property, breakfast etc. and wifi username and password would be sufficient especially if staff are not easily accessible. I understand it is an inn and not a hotel.

The staff were brilliant, the location great, surprisingly quiet
Just one thing - the mattress was very thin and soft, I didn't have a comfy night's sleep

Nothing the place is not for family trips away do not book.
Everything from pulling up in the car with our 10 year old daughter we wasn't told it's the Aston villa's supporters Pub the place had door staff stud at door I checked in with the Manager she told me to get to our room we had to walk through the bar full of drunk football fans I declined and was shown another entrance around the back of the pub the door has no handle so have to pull the bottom of the door the had been urinated on many times. Our room was very basic with no tea and coffee facilities we drove to tesco and bought our own kettle etc I had to go to the bar for a tea spoon Bar staff drinking Alcohol. We eventually settled down to bed as we had plans for the Sunday. 3am fire alarm starts sounding a young lad said it was been looked into 3 the Alarm went off we decided to drive home at 03.30am to drive back home to Hull and cancelled our Sunday plans our daughter was very upset I have contacted the hotel many times to be told head office is looking into as I asked for a full refund I asked booking.com to looking into to be told weeks later No refund hear is £20 basically to tell me to stop getting intouch with them so I would recommend staying somewhere else especially with children.

Friendly staff and loved the room. Cheaper breakfast if you only have cereal n toast.
Photo id put me off staying. Booking .com should make it clear when you book. As a lodger it is extremely difficult to get it. I was very worried that I would be turned away with my expired provisional and have to sleep rough. I feel this is discriminatory, and also no one should be allowed to take copies of photo id. It should be illegal.
The deposit-having staff check the room before giving it back is humiliating. Also cheaper hotels normally have a minor fault/fault somewhere. It makes me feel like I will be accused of something I didn't do and makes it difficult to enjoy the stay. It also makes me not want to eat or drink anything in case I accidently spill it.

Quiet...had everything we needed, good bar, reasonable prices..pool table, dart board, snooker table..plenty off room..food excellent price and very good too...rooms did the job..plenty of towels, good bathroom..what more would you want for the price you pay.. definitely recommend and would stay again.
Had no complaints at all..train station right across the road,2 stops from new street station.

The rooms was good size for money
I asked for more pillows and they said we don’t have any spare as all rooms are full your are a hotel so should have spare pillows

Very cheap for a family room. Just wanted a bed for the night and this was fine. Nice to have bar facilities downstairs for breakfast in the morning. Bedroom facilities were very basic but fine.
It is a way away from the centre of Birmingham, but k ew that at the time of booking. Staff were not very attentive at all, basic instructions at check-in. Ordering breakfast was difficult with staff on their phone rather than serving. When breakfast did come it something was missed.

location staff friendly
mattress spring uncomfortable dated
no towel rail no shelf for wash bag
no coffee, tea making facilities in room
breakfast served to late earlier for contractors

Staff were lovely and very helpful which all helped with the experience for my boys and their first Villa game,
The Aston inn is full of Aston villa pictures and memorabilia which for any Villa fan is always nice and made my boys very excited when they first walked in,
The rooms are basic but clean and that is all you can ask for,
The location is a short walk to Villa park so the location was perfect for us to take in all the joy of match day and close enough so we could get a change of clothes after waiting in the rain for player signatures,
Thanks again for a few days my boys will never forget.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating.
The lovely lady that cooked us breakfast was so super nice, nothing was too much trouble
The rooms were cozy and the breakfast was lovely and affordable, and the lady made a proper decent brew 👌
Would definitely recommend and we hope to stay again 😊
This is more a suggestion than a negative.
The only thing I would recommend.
This is more for people with babies, is a kettle in the room. I struggled to try and heat the babies bottle during the night, as I had to use the sink hot water which took alot longer.
Everything else was spot on 😊

No food on Sundays and not a lot nearby - just one to be aware of

The location to where i was working and the shower was good
The food wasnt very nice and the rooms very basic
3.7
Good location to my work trip at the Villa park , it’s inside a pub which means food and drink is within easy reach. Although inside a pub , the atmosphere was quiet and calm no noise distractions.
The room facilities needs improvement. It took a while to understand how the heating works, no rubbish bin in the room or toilet , not much toiletries was provided (Just a bar of soap and shower gel) . No tea/coffee facilities in the room, not even a kettle . All in all the room was very basic , but clean. And very polite and helpful staffs.
3.7
Very nice atmosphere and very gentle staff. I love the bar also, they didn’t charge for the tea or coffee because we were staying.
Nothing.
