About this house rental
Toss your tide tables when staying at 2128 Bruce Drive because you'll have has sandy beaches at both High and Low Tide You have four public beach accesses. One is only 450 feet away. This mid-century modern single-family home is located on East Beach, voted the best neighborhood on Saint Simons Island by Elegant Island Life Magazine and has sandy beaches at both High and Low Tide.
A total remodel was performed in 2018, but numerous of upgrades have been added since then. In 2020, the owners added a private heated pool and hot tub. In 2021, they added a massive back deck with a dining table and dining bar, all set under a beautiful live oak with hanging outdoor lighting. In 2023, they added a patio in front of the home. It has all sorts of hip decorations, jungle plants, chairs, and a swing that hangs from a separate Live Oak. These historic trees really make the property and are a feature the island is known for.
Enter through the foyer to access the open, vaulted living room with seating for six and an adjacent six-person dining area. Quartz counters, updated appliances, and shaker cabinets, along with an integrated coffee station (drip and single cup options), a farmer’s sink, and a large pantry complete the kitchen. Seating for four can be found on the kitchen’s bar.
An adjacent family room includes a sweeping curved sectional seating six, a work area with a large desk and chair, an additional chair with a side table, and a gas fireplace. The fireplace is only available for use between September 1st and March 1st. French doors open for outdoor dining with a grill and large table for eight. There is where you'll find the pool, hot tub, and large back deck. If you would like to heat either the pool or hot tub there is a fee. The backyard is fully fenced.
All three private bedrooms, including two luxurious en-suites, are located in a separate part of the home, accessed from the foyer. Premium bedding and linens are used throughout the home.
The first bedroom includes a king bed, walk-in closet, chair, 50-inch television with Roku, and an additional queen Murphy bed, disguised as a chest. A pocket door leads to a beautifully updated bathroom with double vanities, a glass-enclosed walk-in shower, a separate tub, and a large linen closet.
The second bedroom includes a King bed, with an additional day bed with a trundle (2 twin XLs), 50-inch television with Netflix, Prime Video, and Samsung TV Plus. A vanity sink, large shower, and walk-in closet await in the oversize bathroom behind the chic barn door.
A third bedroom includes a Queen bed, and an ample closet. The hallway bathroom for this bedroom, includes a single vanity and shower/tub combination. A laundry room with a folding area is located off this hallway as well.
All in all, this is one of the best vacation homes on Saint Simons. The owners upgrade this home constantly. This is a true second home, not just a house crammed with beds for profit. Beautiful, clean and well maintained home. Kitchen had everything you will need, and more. The backyard amazing with the pool and seating areas that we enjoyed every day, lounging and playing games. Beds are on the firm side, which was fine with us. The beach is a very short walk.

The house was very clean and just write for our family of 6 plus 2 small children. The property manager was very helpful and prompt on all communication. There was a problem with the pool and we were unable to use it but the realty company representing the property provided us with a refund. The other thing is we wished there were beach towel and beach chairs provided for use when going to the beach. We had to buy towels for everyone to use.

Had a wonderful stay for my daughter’s 18th birthday! Location was great for a short drive to Pier Village and Redfern Village. The short walk to the end of the street to the beach/Gould’s Inlet was awesome! Nice beach with shells and locals walking their dogs. The layout of the home was great for my daughter and her friends to hang out while allowing me to relax in my own private area. I was also impressed at how clean and organized everything was in the house. Pride of ownership definitely shows in this beautiful home! The pool, hot tub, and deck were a great addition ( wish we would have been able to enjoy them more but weather did not permit it). I was also impressed with the excellent customer service when booking this property. Crystal was wonderful and responded quickly to my questions. Loved this property and would definitely stay here again!

Overall, the place is perfect. The home is situated a few blocks from our favorite beach on the island (Gould's Inlet). The kitchen is well provisioned and the space is organized thoughtfully for a group visit. The couch and beds were very comfortable. The majesty of live oak tree in the backyard can be fully appreciated. There are lots of seating options outside which we enjoyed. We visited in winter and paid for the pool/hot tub to be heated and were disappointed with the condition of the pool The pool had been shocked and significantly faded bathing suits, the pool lights and the exterior string lights weren't operating. We had to call to get directions for turning on the hot tub as there was no guest book, II asked for a partial refund for the pool expense and was told to expect one.

My partner and I absolutely loved our time over the weekend. Breakfast in the backyard dining area under the Live Oak, late nights in the hot tub, skateboarding to the ocean - this place is a dream come true with a bench swing in the front and cute natural offerings everywhere.
Feedback for owner/operator: we loved our stay but wanted to share some insights that could make this place even better for next to zero cost but would be hugely valuable to guests.
Obviously vacation stays are very much what the guests make of their time and we had an amazing time - but for the price it would have been such a mega value add if there was some water bottles or coffee pods for the morning. This was by no means an expectation that we had going in but once we got back from dinner the first night we realized that a couple of really small things would have made this place perfect from an experiential standpoint.
The bedsheets and pillowcases were almost crispy - probably a comfort preference but I think that if you spent the night there one time you’d understand what we mean. Kind of the feeling that you have to try too hard to make comfort instead of just finding it.
Walking to the back yard is so aesthetically pleasing however it is audibly stressful with the volume of the door sensor alarm which is so punishingly loud and in your face every time you open the door. If you can program a time delay for 20-30 seconds it would be much better for the experience.

We loved our VRBO. We rayed here for 8 days while my son was married. It was a perfect location. Convenient for trips to Mallory Street and then out to the Winn Dixie. The house has all the comforts of home and more. It would be nice to include the hot tub fee in the rental fee and that it was all working when we arrived. I will definitely stay again.

I reserved this home last November to give my family space to be together, heal and enjoy our extended family while attending my mom’s funeral. It exceeded my expectations. It is spacious, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The backyard with the pool and hot tub was the perfect space for everyone to visit, reminisce and console. An easy walk to the beach and short drive to restaurants and shopping makes this home the perfect place for family and friends.

We took our granddaughters to St Simons for 5 days. We rented the house at 2128 Bruce Drive. It was a wonderful house (just as described in the pictures) - plenty of room for everyone to have their own space - beautifully furnished and super clean - everything we needed for a fun stay at the beach! The heated pool and hot tub (which our granddaughters thought was their own private kiddie pool) were a big hit. We got in every morning and every night (they loved the changing lights in the pool). Close proximity to East Beach access and seafood restaurants. The realty company was very responsive - check-in and check-out couldn't have been easier. I would highly recommend this property - we definitely plan to rent it again!

Kitchen is well equipped with all the items needed to prepare a meal at the house. We LOVED this rental. It's steps from the beach, and a short drive to the East Beach entrance...it's also a close drive to everything else (i.e. the Village/Pier, etc). The house had enough parking, and we loved that it was one story. It's beautifully renovated and we liked the layout. We felt there was enough space for everyone. The pool in the back was the highlight and having 2 masters was a plus. Enjoyed it very much
