About this house rental
Suspend time in this beautiful hilltop home away from home with views of the city and ocean. Centrally located between Disneyland, Universal Studios, the beach, and the mountains! You get 2000 sq/ft and a beautiful 1/4 acre yard and patio with grill and fire pit to yourself. If you've seen those views of the city lights in the movies, that’s what you'll have.
NO GATHERINGS are permitted. This applies to quinceañeras, weddings, birthdays, media productions, and family gatherings. We allow a maximum of 6 guests overnight. They must be included at the time of your request. Then we allow no more than 8 people at once on the property at any given time,. We charge $50 per person for any unregistered overnight guests or people over 8 regardless of age or relational status.
The advantages of this house are the central location, the views, and large space and lot which you get to yourself. There are two large bedrooms with a king and a queen and two living areas that include an additional queen bed. The living room, bedrooms, and kitchen/dining area have enormous windows for viewing the city lights all the way to the ocean. The backyard has a large patio with table/chairs, BBQ, fire pit, grassy yard, beautiful plants, and outdoor lighting. You can also walk up the street to explore miles of trails with stunning 360° views of the city, mountains, and ocean!
There are Ring doorbells on the front and back doors and a ring camera on the driveway. These can be used for communication. They only cover the areas right in front of the doors and the driveway. They do not activate or pick up information when using the back patio, back yard, or front yard..
It is a quiet residential neighborhood called “The Hill.” It’s truly hard to believe you are right in the middle of the LA area. There are almost always birds singing and flowers blooming. There are many restaurants down the hill in “Uptown” Whittier- which in most cities would be called downtown.
The 605 freeway is very close, which is a pretty big deal. Some places in LA it takes 15 minutes just to get to a freeway. Make sure to check traffic, as distance is measured in time, not miles, in LA. To access most, places it’s better to get started before 12. Except downtown LA. That’s actually easier to get to in the afternoons and evenings during the reverse commute.

Spectacular views and optimal location! The host was highly communicative and gracious. My family and I were so very happy to have found this property. We had a great time!

The house is very well cared for, in a great neighborhood with a wonderfully pleasant and relaxing view. The owner is very friendly and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this house if you are looking for a great place to stay while in LA. If you’re looking for a rental that is conveniently located or just want to spend a nice time with friends and family BBQ’n and just hanging out, this is a great house for that. It’s very peaceful here. I will definitely be renting again if I need a place to stay in this location.

Loved looking over LA from the Whittier hills in this home. Great place to spend a couple of nights outside of the city.
The host, Nathan, was very responsive and helpful.

Seriously though, the view is spectacular. Watching the sunset from the bay window is really wonderful. House was very nice and set up well. Good kitchen if you like cooking.
If you're driving a larger vehicle, be careful with the driveway. It's narrow and at an odd angle so I had to swing wide in a compact car to get in.

Really easy to work with! Everything was better than expected. Beautiful views and comfy beds. Definitely would stay agat.

Property has a great view, neighborhood has a very mountainous feel. Loved the nature and quiet aspects of the home. Was a great stay, will stay again! Thank you Nate!

The home itself is located well. The house does sit on a hillside so you have a pretty view of Whittier, especially at night. The neighborhood is really quiet all of the time. The home is older which gives charm, but parts are updated. The kitchen has a lot of counter space and the laundry room had a useful folding surface. The backyard is absolutely beautiful. However, there are cameras on the back of the property that aren’t disclosed in the listing description or photos, one on the garage and one at the backdoor. These do record audio and video, which made me feel uncomfortable sitting on the back patio given that the movements and audio of my family would be recorded. I would have preferred that the listing reflected these. The other thing that was really awkward is that checkout is at 11 am. I began noticing a white Jeep with dark tint driving by the home about 30 minutes prior to check out. I didn’t think too much of it because cars drive down roads, but when I walked out to get in my car the Jeep was at the end of the driveway waiting. As soon as we pulled out they pulled in. They were waiting for us to leave and that felt very uncomfortable.

I grew up in the Whittier area and returned home to visit with family and friends. This house was not only perfect in location but because it's tucked in the Whittier Hills, it's quiet, serene, beautiful, and relaxing. Lovely place!

The property was as listed. We had such a relaxing time. The garden and patio was amazing. The neighborhood was quiet but still close to restaurants and other attractions. We enjoyed the sunsets and views of the city.

Brought the family to LA for dodger games. The house was a simple 25 minute drive to the stadium. Nate was awesome to work with. Also loved the great patio for morning coffee.

Nathan‘s place is a beautiful property right on the outskirts of Los Angeles proper. We had privacy and relaxation aplenty. Would definitely stay again.
