The home is lovely, with many thoughtful amenities provided. We loved the beautiful, quiet & very private location. Jenny, the owner, was great. We needed no contact with management. We hated to leave & hope to return.

My wife, daughter and I had a restful and relaxing stay. The house has a beautiful view of Holmes Bay out the back windows. We loved curling up with books on the couches by the back windows that overlook the bay. We also really enjoyed the Adirondack chairs on the platform in the back overlooking the bay. We saw some incredible sunsets and saw a bald eagle fly across the bay from trees near the house. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed hiking on the many trails in the area and visiting Campobello Island. My wife is already planning a trip to return next summer!

This property did not disappoint with its amazing amenities, views of the ocean, peaceful environment, and kindness of the property manager. We recommend travelers stay at this home if they want an stress-free time away from their home.

This location was what our family needed for a long weekend of nothing!
The Rocky beach was isolated, yet a perfect place for our young grandchildren to explore and search the ‘pirate cove’. A few trips up and down those beach stairs were better than any gym workout!
Amazing hikes were within short driving distances - all levels of hikes.
The house is exactly as described and has everything you could possibly need or want!

Third time to Woodland Pointe! Have made trips in 2008, 2017, and 2024, each successively better and more impressive than those previous!
This gem in the forests of the Bold Coast never disappoints and provides easy access to areas such as Acadia/Bar Harbor, Campobello Island, Grand Manan Island, and local hiking trails near Cutler. It is clean, warm, inviting, cozy, and simply feels like home!
On a scale from 1-10, it is a total 10 out of 10!

This was the first time visiting Maine for half of our group.
Everything was great. The host had sent plenty of information about the property and things to do in the Downeast area before we arrived.
The place was very clean and neat when we got there. The amenities were great (everything we needed). The house had plenty of room for our group (10 people) and was very comfortable.. The firepit and decks were great for time to relax with family. The views from the house and decks were phenominal. Everyone loved the ability to walk the beach and watch the clammers. It was a convenient location as a base when exploring the Downeast area ( Lubec, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park local lobstering villages, etc.). Definitely reccomend this property and would stay here again. Thank you Jenny for providing such a great place and Sabrina for your help while we were there.

We had a terrific stay at this home. It is located directly on the water with 2 different decks to enjoy the view and stairs to the shore. The house is spacious and beautifully decorated with all the items you would need. Next time we're back in this area we will be staying again. Great place!

We stayed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night so we would be close by for my college graduation. This place was a dream for me, I have always loved the ocean and being right on the water and seeing so much wild life in the woods was so nice. The property was beautiful, clean, and well-stocked with any supplies you could need. The hosts are so friendly and communicated well, making the check-in and check-out processes a breeze. My family and I are wanting to return to this place every year! Thank you again for having us!

From the time you arrive to the time you leave you are surrounded with peace, quiet, nature and beauty. Every detail to provide comfort is found at Woodland Pointe. My husband and I and our dog settled right in and found it difficult to leave. The house is fully stocked with everything you need. Streaming and Wi-Fi are available for your pleasure as are table tennis and foosball. The surrounding area has many many things to explore. If you need the perfect get away you need look no further! Thank you Jenny it was just what we needed!

We had a great stay, traveling with our son and daughter in-law and their Golden retriever. This a pet friendly property and boy was it ever. Maggie was greeted with a basket of toys, super convenient covers for the furniture made her feel right at home. My wife I and I chose the 1st floor bed room with attached bath. Upstairs bedrooms shared a large bath. The first floor rear deck was huge and had great views. A short walk to the second deck overlooking the water. The views were awesome. The house was very well organized and labels helped guide you to find everything you need. Very well equipped kitchen. Everything was spot less. There was a welcome breakfast gift waiting on the counter. We were traveling off season but used this as a base for day trips to NB, Lubec and the West Quoody light and more. We extended a day which was done with a simple message. The host is top notch, returning messages almost instantly. This is truly a great place to stay, we hope to return and enjoy the Bold Coast. Maggie gave it five stars for pet friendly and we all agree this was a 5 star stay!

Beautiful home. Has everything you needed.

Very nice property, however the immediate ground surrounding the house could have used some trimming. There was debris and underbrush making walking other than the trail to the steps to the water difficult. We also found very strong urine left in the downstairs bathroom toilet, someone forgot to flush and of course that's the first thing you have to do upon arrival. overall we loved it, didn't have any communication with property manager.

The peace and quiet, the sound of the water ebbing and flowing, the well-stocked and comfortable home all made for a magical vacation! The owners are wonderful to work with and added to our enjoyment. It was our second stay at Woodland Pointe and we are making plans for stay #3!!

This property is as close to perfection as anyone can expect -- and it's clear that this results from the owner's efforts.
We stayed here last year but our trip cut short by one of us contracting covid. So we were looking forward to this year and were not disappointed.
As last year, we've never visited a rental where so many of our wants had been anticipated. Notable among these are the covers for sofas and beds to allow our dog to join us. This extended to enough coffee that if we hadn't brought our own we would have been good for several days. We're not tea drinkers, but there was lots of that too.
This morning my wife said: "I really miss sitting on the deck and looking at the water through the trees." I expect our dog misses running through the bushes and trees too.

This is an amazing property. My family and I really enjoyed it. The house is very spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Everything you need a s home away from home is provided. The location is great, private and quiet but close enough to drive to town. View and outside amenities are spectacular. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I spent several days at this VRBO while we explored the surrounding area. The lot is beautiful and private, the view is lovely, and the house itself was well equipped. We had some trouble with the door code, and it took about half an hour for us to connect with the person whose contact info we were given to resolve that and enter the house initially. Due to the recent rain and fog, we were absolutely eaten alive by mosquitoes every time we set foot outside. Other than that and a few small quibbles with the cleaning, this rental was perfect! (It’s worth noting the steps down to the shore are VERY steep which was fine for us, but the elderly, mobility challenged, and little kids would struggle. The weeds growing through the stair risers don’t help.)

This was our second visit to Woodland Retreat and we found wonderful improvments with the new deck and stairs to the beach. The house was, again, perfect, for our family of 7 including 5 adults, ages 49 to 81, and two children ages 6 and 10. We love the location and Downeast Maine and will definitely return next summer. Thank you Jenny and manager, Joey.

Everything was wonderful. Convenient access to everything we needed. The only problem was the bbq grill we were counting on was really in very poor condition.
Really needs to be replaced.

The property was beautiful and as advertised. Jenny was very responsive. We didn't do much. We mostly sat staring out at the water and watching our dogs play. We didn't have to worry too much about our dogs running in the street or getting lost. That, in itself, helped us to relax. Beds were comfortable. We enjoyed playing ping pong and had lots of laughs. Thank you for your attention to every possible need. We had a wonderful time.

My family had a wonderful stay here! The house is clean, comfortable, absolutely adorable, and the views are gorgeous! We loved the seclusion and privacy the property gave us, while still being close to so many beautiful sites and hikes. Highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to the Cutler area!

My family couldn’t have asked for a better property for our coastal Maine vacation. It’s a beautiful home—quiet, tranquil, and cozy. We would definitely stay at Woodland Retreat again! Jenny and the property manager are easily accessible and will help you with anything you need, and they’ve provided many little extras and special touches that make the property feel like home away from home.

My husband and I, along with 2 friends and their dog, enjoyed our week at your Cutler home. The location couldn't be better. We were able to visit our favorite spots and found some new favorites as well. Everythng we needed for a week away was available.
Thank you for your hospitality!

We enjoyed watching tide go out and come back in. Did a little clam digging in the bay. Very relaxing. Next visit will have to be during Lobster season we would have enjoyed watching lobster boats and eating lots of Lobster. Overall we enjoyed our stay and our dog Louiee enjoyed the outdoors. Thank you

The house is amazing, the best we have stayed at on VRBO. It has huge windows and lots of light. Everything one could need was provided including dog coverings for the many wonderful couches and dog bowls. The pancake mix and Maine blueberry syrup made for great breakfasts. We felt comfortable allowing the dogs to roam the property because of the amount of surrounding land. They did upset the wild turkeys, which I'm sure they enjoyed much more than the turkeys did. Overall a beautiful house in a beautiful location! One little suggestion would be a hammock for outdoor naps.

Great property - beautiful views and surrounding area! The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. Really appreciated the set up for the dogs as well. While the property is located in a fairly remote area - it was exactly what we were looking for this time around. Thanks!

The peace & tranquility soothed our weary souls. The beautiful cottage, with its uncluttered and comfortable decor and floor to ceiling windows that brought nature inside, welcomed us the minute we stepped in. All the basic necessities were provided and appreciated. The well-stocked kitchen made any meal possible. Foosball and ping pong tournaments were a daily occurrence and such fun! Working with the owner was a true delight and we will be back next year for a longer stay!

This place is magical. We were there in early October and couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The house is clean, comfortable and fully equipped! Every detail has been thought of. As for the outdoors, where do I begin? It's so private and the views!! Those sunsets and being able to look out and walk to the water's edge! We used the firepit, sat on the dock and were mesmerized by the tides coming in and out. We will definitely be back.

Property was as described. Beautiful overlooking tidal estuary. Lacked for nothing with respect to amenities. Close enough for shopping but isolated enough for peace and relaxation. Campobello island only 45 minutes away. Only thing I would recommend would be to wash all linen in odorless detergent. There are too many people with allergies ( my wife included).
Overall a relaxing time with good friends.

Our first thought when we entered the building was “What a pretty place.” That thought repeated throughout our stay. More exposure led us to realize that we have never stayed in a rental where so much thought and attention had been spent to make our stay pleasant; everything we might want was there. Furnishings are good quality and comfortable. While one of us prefers soft beds and the other hard, both of us were happy with the beds.
The canine accommodations are particularly good. There are covers for sofas so you can share the space with your pet. What a simple and useful thing to do! We’ve never seen anything like it, and were so happy to find it.
The location is lovely (as the pictures show). The adirondack chairs are comfortable and made of a modern synthetic (we have the same in rockers) that doesn’t peel and doesn’t need painting. Again, two different-sized people both found them comfortable. Waze doesn’t know where it is, but the directions and signage make it easy to find. Overall, a gem!

My husband, sister and II had an idyllic stay at Woodland Pointe! The home was clean, well stocked, bright and cheerful. We enjoyed sitting on the deck every evening watching the gorgeous sunsets and ever-changing tides. We saw many different birds, sea life and wildlife!!! Very relaxing and peaceful week!! Thank you!!
