You will love Hinterhaven Cottage, it’s a place of solitude, beauty and peacefulness. This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage is perfect for a fun, relaxing Door County get away. It is located on the end of a private drive, surrounded by a mature birchwood forest; so you feel like you're away from it all, but actually, you’re only minutes from all of Door County's best villages and sites.
2.8 miles to Al Johnson’s restaurant in Sister Bay,
1.9 miles to Anderson Dock in Ephraim,
2.4 miles to Wilson’s Ice Cream,
3.6 miles to Peninsula State Park golf
less than 15 minutes to Fish Creek, Egg Harbor, and Ellison Bay
Less than 10 minutes to Baileys Harbor

At Hinterhaven Cottage, you can enjoy a peaceful morning coffee, read your favorite book, or simply enjoy the wildlife from the beautiful wrap-around screened in porch.
Outside, you can shoot hoops, play yard games, swing, BBQ on the grill, hang by the fire or explore the woods. In the evening, you will enjoy roasting marshmallows at the campfire pit. Bring your guitar and sing your favorite camp songs. If it’s cool, gather inside around the fireplace playing games or doing puzzles.

The main level of Hinterhaven Cottage has a living room with a fireplace, fully stocked kitchen, a master bedroom with a queen sized bed and a bathroom. Upstairs, there is a spacious family room, two bedrooms (one with twin & full beds and one with a queen sized bed), and a full bathroom with a washer and dryer. The family room has a sectional, flatscreen TV, DVD player and toy area. There is Wi-Fi internet and a wide selection of DVDs, books, and games.
Updates in 2020 include new carpet, linens, furniture, flatscreen TV, outdoor firepit, tree swings, and electric grill. You will want to come back to Hinterhaven Cottage again and again!

We stayed at the Hinter Haven with our two young children, brother and sister in law and nephew. The property was set back in a quiet area, with lots of room to play in the yard with games from their well supplied shed. We so appreciated the well stocked kitchen and the books and toys in the family room (if we go back, I will save the space and not pack our own 😊). My grandfather was Norwegian so the Ole and Lena joke books ans Lefse tools brought a big smile!

The house exceeded our expectations. Plenty of glasses and dishes for the 6 of us. Lots of room for us to spread out. It would be nice to have 6 chairs at the upstairs table. That is where we played games because it was the only table with a light over. The beds were upgraded to a king in the 1st floor bedroom and a queen and single in the 3rd bedroom, which was nice. A negative was the road to get to the house - it is gravel with potholes.

We were 6 adults and a toddler. This was a perfect location in a quiet beautiful wooded area just minutes from the beach and shops and restaurants. The house is clean and well stocked with comfy beds , games for indoors and out and plenty of space to hang out together. We had a great time reconnecting.

This house was perfect for our family visit to see relatives in Door County. Communication with the host was easy and we received prompt responses to any questions. The location is perfect to get to see all the local must-see restaurants, shops, and parks. This charming home was filled with all the items you need to enjoy your stay. We would definitely stay here again when coming to Door County.

This was our second stay at Hinterhaven and enjoyed our time here just as much as on our visit last year. Wendy and Paul are phenomenal hosts and very responsive. Their home is beautiful and the property is situated in a stunning setting. The kitchen was very well stocked and the house is very nicely decorated. We especially enjoyed the screen porch on nights when it was raining or a bit chilly.

We had an amazing stay here. From the toys and books for the kids to the screened in porch where you can just listen to the whispering wind in the trees or have coffee and breakfast in the morning, staying here was the first time I've felt truly refreshed by a vacation in quite some time. The property is beautiful and secluded and it feels like a home that has been loved and cared for. We always felt welcome and comfortable. Highly recommend.

this property had a cute front porch plus enclosed patio; very well-stacked kitchen; appreciated that one bedroom / attached bath was on first floor; decore was cute; bedrooms on second floor were cozy (small) but sufficient; had written instructions on how to use tv on second floor ( something seldom found in other rentals and greatly appreciated ( though did not use tv) ; only caveats for elderly or those with mobility issues: stairs to second floor are somewhat steep: bedroom/hall a/cs worked well for the 70+ weather we had

Such a great property in a great location. We were 5 minutes from our Spa and great restaurants. The proper was peaceful and easy to find. Owners had such great personal touches - fresh cut flowers and local cherry salsa! The first morning while having coffee on the screened in porch, 3 deer approached the house!

We enjoyed our stay at Hinter Haven! The property was secluded and quiet, with nice landscaping. At the same time, it was close to both highway 42 and 57. We enjoyed relaxing time on the screened-in porch. The home was very clean and inviting and they really thought of everything you might need for your stay. Would stay again!

The house is on a wooded lot in a very quiet neighborhood. It is very close to Sister Bay and to all attractions in Door County. The beds were very comfortable. The yard games provided by the host were fun. A very relaxing stay.

We stayed at Hinterhaven Cottage for a weeklong family getaway (my wife, 2 adult children and me). The house was perfect for what we were looking for - beautiful yard, very clean, comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, fire pit and grill. It was also situated very conveniently to Ephraim, Sister Bay and Baileys Harbor. The wooded setting was also beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Hinter Haven was everything we were looking for in a relaxing Door County getaway for the four of us, including our son and daughter-in-law. It is lovely house on a quiet, beautiful, wooded lot "away from it all", but only 5 minutes from both Ephraim and Sister Bay. The house has literally everything you could think of wanting during your vacation, including a well stocked kitchen, grill, outside games, and a spacious family room with books and children's activities. We loved the screened porch, though bugs were not a problem - it was just a delightful place for morning coffee and evening refreshments. Everything is new and nice quality. We can't wait to come back.

Hinter Haven was the perfect spot to host a birthday weekend with family. We loved the peaceful location in the woods to watch wildlife; the screened in porch to read and relax; the large, fully stocked kitchen for family dinners and the cozy living room with a fireplace. The loft area was a bonus -- there is plenty of space to spread out! Paul was very responsive and welcoming. Thanks for sharing your beautiful property with us!

We loved the house and the location. It is conveniently located with easy access to Sister Bay, Fish Creek, Ephraim, and Bailey’s Harbor. The house is in great condition, clean, and the owners have taken the time to make sure it is well equipped with everything you need. The owner answered all of our questions and was extremely easy to work with. We definitely recommend this house!!
