Property was very nice. We enjoyed our stay!

Our group consisted of 8 adults, 4 children (ages 9 to 13), and 2 dogs (German Shorthaired Pointer and Sharpei). We had booked this house a year in advance due to our busy schedules and the availability of the house during the 4th of July holiday. The house is laid out well, giving all of our party privacy, if needed. The "game room/media center" lower level was great for the kids and they used it whenever they weren't in the water. Our son brought his large (24 ft?) pontoon boat, which we had stationed at the provided dock, at the house. Paddle boards, kayak, and beach recliners were provided and used the entire time we were there. The house is located on a cove area on the lake that is a "no wake" area, which makes it nice, especially with smaller kids in the water. The property is on a steep hill and
the stairs/inclines are all done well, but anyone with limited mobility may want to look at other properties to rent. All of the deck and dock area was utilized continuously during our stay, although they where needing some work. I texted the owner while we were there about the condition of them, he stated that he was aware and he was planning on working on them right after our rental time was up. Overall, we all really enjoyed our stay at this house and we would definitely recommend anyone with a large group to consider this property for their next vacation.

This property was wonderful as far as sleeping a large family. Swimming area was great! However, it does need some attention as far as lots of spider webs and house needs pressure washing. There is a terrible squeaky floor situation upstairs especially at door going onto deck that needs to be addressed. It is a great location, and we enjoyed our week on Lake Norman!

We loved staying here!! The beach area was so perfect for the small kids. And the paddle boards and kayaks were a hit. We would totally stay again!!

We stayed here over Christmas and enjoyed our time. The house is comfortable and the lake view was great.

House was just the right size. Really liked the beach area and entrance into the lake for the kids! Will stay again!

We had a wonderful week at Lake Norman, a fun-filled time that we made work for our large family, despite several issues highlighted below. The site was close to the beautiful lake, with a moderate drop to the nice pier at the edge, accessible by a paved walk. We were able to dock our rental pontoon boat without any difficulty at the location. It was great to have a couple of stand-up paddle boards and two one-person kayaks available. A The kitchen had about all the necessities (although a small table or island would have been nice), and the place was clean. But we did not have a favorable impression upon our arrival. The grass had not been mowed and the trash cans were all overfilled. (It is a problem for this and possibly other rental properties in the vicinity since the trash is collected on Thursdays but turnover for renters is on Saturdays.) The gas grill was dirty and the propane tank empty, which we had to fill and would not mind be being reimbursed for. Moreover, indoors we had sixteen bath towels for the nineteen people we had listed as coming for the week. We finally received additional towels on Thursday afternoon, two nights before our departure. We became aware that the owner/manager was only at the job for about a year, and we can accept the fact that some leeway might be warranted for these deficiencies. In fact, he did request constructive comments. But given our experience, we give it 3-1/2 stars out of 5.

This property was great for the 14 of us that stayed there! There were enough beds for all of us. We did have to bring a few folding tables to put outside on the deck so we could all eat together.
My only complaints would be that some of the furniture (specifically the couch) has seen better days - might be time for an update! There are also no stairs leading down from the deck to the dock. There were plenty of other ways to get down, but would've been nice to have stairs directly from the deck.

This property was ideal for us. Big enough for 22 people and located in a perfect area of Lake Norman. Our little ones could safely play in the water at shoreline and others enjoyed playing in the water just off the dock.
A great time was had by all.

Our family enjoyed the week at Lake Norman. There was plenty of space for all 18 of us. The owner was nice and worked to meet our needs. Our family cooked all but a couple of meals in house. Publix was only ten minutes away. We appreciated the quiet serenity of the lake at this location. There was plenty of parking for our boat trailers and vehicles.

>>>> Jay, I wanted you to see the review I am going to post on your place. This review is a compilation of the input I received from my family as this was a family reunion. We do this every two years and Lake Norman is our chosen spot as it is in the middle of where we all permanently live. We have rented other large houses on the Lake so we all have experienced other rentals.
>>>> The biggest issue for us was that the house is infested with mice. One family left as the wife could not stay due to her aversion to mice. We did see mice on numerous occasions. There was a sighting in the kitchen/ living room are, one in the master bedroom and one in the downstairs bedroom. The pull out couches did have mouse droppings in them and also the the cutlery drawer. No one pulled out any of the couches to sleep on them once they found the droppings. We realize this is a lake property, butwe have not experienced this in any of the other rentals.
>>>> The second big issue was the lack of sufficient towels. There is certainly not enough for the number of people that can be accommodated. At most there was one towel per person. Usually two towels per person is provided. We do know that we are expected to wash the towels during our stay as needed, but we also expect an adequate number of towels for the number of guests.
>>>> The rest of our complaints are minor in comparison to the above, so I am just going to list them in no particular order
>>>> —-The overall appearance of the interior of the house needs some refreshing. It looks worn, and thus dirty( look at the door knobs around the door to the deck for an example).
>>>> —-No room for garbage as the cans were filled from the day we arrived. We assume it was garbage from the previous renter. I did call you on this and you told me you would stop by to empty them. We never did see you.
>>>> —-There are nails sticking out on the dock. Many stubbed toes.
>>>> —- When we looked under the kitchen sink we found a big pot . It was there due to a leaking garbage disposal. The pot would have been useful for cooking .
>>>> —— The refrigerator was leaking so much that there was a towel being used to keep the water from spreading across the floor from the time we first entered the house. This was also mentioned to you in the same call as the garbage. It was also never addressed.
>>>> —- No umbrellas for the deck. This made the deck unusable for large parts of the day except for the two areas by the bedroom

Family Gathering
Overall very nice experience. Beautiful lake sighting and access. Had kayaks, stand up paddle boards and paddle boat for use. Multiple large gathering areas indoors and out. Downstairs gathering areas had pool table and fuse ball. Downstairs wet bar. Multiple fridges.
We had 23 people stay for the week and had plenty of room to spread out.

Additional information
Property is in a no wake zone, which is very nice. Jay was extremely responsive to any minor issues that arose during the stay.

This is a very large home with plenty of space for our large multi generational family. Although described as accessible, there is no accessible bathroom or entrance to the first floor for a wheelchair. There are some issues we brought to the attention of the owner. A deep Cove for our sailboat was nice for paddleboarding and sitting out. The family had a memorable week

Great house for a larger group
This house was fantastic! We needed 8 bedrooms to accommodate a group of co-workers. The layout was perfect for our needs. We had our meetings upstairs in the living room and gathered in the downstairs game area in the evenings. I can see how this house could accommodate a much larger group. There are a couple of very minor maintenance issues that I am going to relay to the owner privately but overall this was a wonderful experience. 10/10, would stay here again.

First, I want to say this is an absolute hidden gem in this cove of LN. The description of the property was accurate; however, once you are on property -- it is even better. The layout of the home is outstanding with bedrooms located on all floors. The openness brings in the morning sun and you can view the sunrise over the lake from the master BR. The kitchen has very modern appliances, was open and airy. There were several areas for storage / refrigerated storage. It was definitely accommodating to our group. Jay was easy to communicate with -- responding to calls, emails and texts with questions and concerns.
However, there were a few things that did not allow me to rate this as high as I would have love to give it. They certainly are not deal breakers but hoping that with this feedback (as requested) improvements will take place.
From the check-in instructions we were given, we were advised to make sure that we did not enter at a certain time to give the cleaning crew time to complete their tasks. However, once we came in -- we had to go "behind" the crew and did our own cleaning. We cleaned out the main refrigerator, swept away dust and spiders. There were also a group of gnats present in the kitchen/ kitchen sink area. We ended up purchasing some insect spray to combat that issue.
Lastly, we were there for a weekend (Friday - Monday) -- on Saturday morning “early"(our first full day) the smoke detector starting chirping with the low battery indicator. We called and advised. We were told that someone would come out after we advised "no, we cannot take it down - it is too high". No one came out -- so we heard the chirping all day and night Saturday and all day and night Sunday. Other issues that we had -- that we worked with -- bulbs in bedroom lamps did not work, battery remote needs changing. We could not find the lighting for the outside (driveway areas) -- not the porch light (found those). It was quite dark out there - used phone flashlights to work around this.
Again, these aren't deal breakers as this property is definitely a showcase - just feedback for improvements.
My recommendations:
1. Have someone meet the lead (or person from the rental party) and go over any issues. Just like you would with a rental car -- so that all parties are on the same page prior to the transfer of the property for the time period.
2. Definite change the batteries in the detectors and remotes.
3. Add lighting to driveway and lower deck.

We had a great time at this amazing and comfortable home. From the bedrooms to the living space, everything helped make our stay at Lake Norman better.

Contactless check-in. Excellent communication with owner. House is HUGE. Group of 5 adults, 3 kids and we had lot of extra room. Open floor plan great for socializing; bedrooms nicely were spread out on each of the levels. Main floor is accessible from driveway, has bedrooms without steps and direct access to deck; all great for unloading groceries and for anyone needing to minimize up/down stairs. Well stocked kitchen, bonus full size fridge & mini bar fridge. Kids enjoyed all the amenities - kayaks, fishing & swimming from dock, firepit, game room, hot tub etc. Kitchen well stocked; bathroom towels well stocked; starter soaps/shampoos as expected. Gave a few minor recommendations to owner, but overall would highly recommend this rental.
