About this apartment rental
Ca’ Delle Vele
Presenting you the keys to this 2-bedroomed Dorsoduro beauty… magically placed near the domes of Salute!
Mid-century modern in mood and giving onto the Rio Terà dei Saloni – a wonderfully evocative and peaceful tree-lined avenue linking the breathtaking Zattere waterfront to the glittering Grand Canal – apartment Ca’ Delle Vele sleeps 4 guests in a characterful setting of rough-hewn timbers, oak flooring and velvety Marmorino walls.
West facing and bright – particularly in the afternoon and early evening – and providing comfort and style in abundance and equal measure, this 1st floor apartment offers air-conditioning** and Wi-Fi plus a relaxed and homely ambience promising maximum holiday pleasure!
Situated in an area historically famous for the salt warehouses once found here and within a stone’s throw of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Fondazione Emilio e Annabianca Vedova, the Punta Della Dogana Center of Contemporary Art and the ‘traghetto’ gondola ferry crossing the Grand Canal to the San Marco sestiere, Ca’ Delle Vele’s accommodation comprises:
A communal entrance on the ground floor with stairs rising to the
1st Floor – private door into:
• A cosy, welcoming and softly lit sitting room picked out in tasteful teal-blues and furnished with a large L-shaped sofa set beneath a wall print of the ‘Chiesa della Salute Venezia’ by Gaspare Vanvitelli (1653–1736) and a splendidly detailed tapestry giving warmth to the room, and featuring 3 tall French windows opening onto a long balcony with window boxes overlooking the delightfully tranquil Rio Terà dei Saloni* and the little 15th-century Gothic palazzo opposite, with the Zattere waterfront and the Giudecca Canal just visible at its southern end!
• A modern, streamlined and well-equipped kitchen / dining room to the side with a dining suite seating 6
• 2 attractively presented double bedrooms of approximately similar size and style – one in a cool eau-de-nil to the front and the other in a warm buttery yellow to the rear and¬ both with built-in wardrobes and double beds which can be made into singles upon request
And completing Ca’ Delle Vele’s well-planned accommodation:
• 2 separate bathrooms with contemporary-style fittings – one with a bathtub and hand-held shower and the other with a shower
* A canal filled in many years ago to create a paved street
OUR COMMENT
A charming place to call home in an idyllic location where time seems to stand still, generation after generation…
A very short stroll via the wide Rio Terà dei Catecumeni to the magnificent votive Church of Santa Maria Della Salute and its breathtaking views over to the Campanile at San Marco… and peacefully positioned (except during the ‘Festa Della Salute’ which takes place on 21 November each year *** – please see below!)
Within steps of the popular little coffee shop / takeaway known as 60/40 – perfect for a morning cappuccino and pastry, a freshly squeezed juice, filled roll or a refreshing gelato or 3! (NB: only a small handful of bar stools available) – and within a short walk of the Accademia Galleries and Bridge (and the VOV office!), the Palazzo Cini Gallery and a variety of fine eating places and bars including Linea D’Ombra, Ai Gondolieri and Ristorante Riviera for fine dining and Corner Pub, Osteria Al Squero and Cantinone Gia Schiavi for panini / cicheti and spritz.
A scenic waterside stroll to the Conad supermarket at the western end of the Zattere and within easy reach of 4 vaporetto (water bus) stops – Zattere Spirito Santo, Zattere, Salute and Accademia – for travel around the city (note that St. Mark’s Square can be reached by vaporetto from Salute in under 5 minutes on Line 1!)
Also moments to the ‘traghetto’ at Calle Lanza / Calle del Traghetto S. Gregorio which, during operating hours, ferries passengers by gondola across the Grand Canal to the stand beside the Gritti Palace Hotel in the district of San Marco, and within easy reach of the Alilaguna boat stop connecting the Zattere to Venice's Marco Polo Airport.
*** One of the most moving and best loved of all Venetian events. Every year on the 21 November, Venetians make a pilgrimage to the plague church of Santa Maria Della Salute (St. Mary of Health) to pray to the Virgin Mary and to light candles, while gondoliers visit bringing their oars to be blessed. A pontoon bridge is built across the Grand Canal from Santa Maria Del Giglio over to the Salute and the huge doors of the church are opened to the city and its visitors, while the area close to Salute is busy with stalls selling candles, balloons and all manner of sweet temptations!
**Please note that the operation of air conditioning and heating are subjected to the municipality regulation. Generally, the heating works from middle of October to middle of April, while air conditioning works between middle of Aprile to middle of October. Please contact us for further information.

The apartment is beautiful and in a quiet location. It is roomy and very well equipped. The air conditioning and shower worked well; the beds were comfortable. The people we interacted with were very helpful and kind, going out of their way to meet us at the dock. Highly recommend!

A lovely apartment to have as a base for a month. Helpful staff at VOV when needed. Excellent position for peace and quiet with easy access to all the wonderful sights in Venice. Great restaurants locally as well as excellent sandwich boutique at the top of the piazza!
A small dustpan and brush would have been helpful! Maybe instructions in English for the air conditioning please but it worked very well.

This flat served us well and was located in a convenient location. The hosts helped us with transportation reservations.

We enjoyed our stay immensely! One of the best apartments we have ever stayed. It is very clean, located in a quiet neighborhood of Venice but very close to Academia and Guggenheim museums. There are numerous restaurants within 5-10 min walking distance facing Giudecca Canal. And of course, numerous bridges and picturesque canals of Venice just two minutes walk.
Service provided by the host was extraordinary as well as check in process. Host reserved water taxi for us on the way from the airport and back (140 Euros one way) but certainly worth every penny!
We will be definitely back!

Stayed here with 3 other adult women - great location on a quiet street but close to salute and accademia. Lovely living area with large windows looking onto the street. Only request is to provide coffee pods that work with the coffee machine - we bought 2 kinds that didn’t fit the machine before we finally stumbled on a shop by the coffee maker. A minor inconvenience to be sure!

Loved it. Super location--near a quiet stop on the #1 Vaperetto and just one stop to the "other side". Easy walk to the grocery store, our favourite museums and the Accademia Bridge. Apartment was lovely, light, spacious, well-equipped and quiet. Couldn't ask for better.
Annalisa and Caterina were both incredibly responsive. The communication from them was genuine, helpful and so polite--even when we called Annalisa with a question about the kitchen at 8:00 am on a Saturday morning.
Would absolutely stay here again.

Easy walking distance to main sights and cafes/restaurants/shops.
Beautiful bright apartment with good sized rooms.
Excellent service from VOV - easy booking, great communication re check in. Really liked we could leave our bags before the apartment was ready. Used them to book private water taxi transfer, which was a great experience and would recommend.
Both bathroom taps spray water when you wash your hands so you end up looking like you have taken a shower!
The beds were made up with only a sheet. We found duvets in the cupboards but no duvet covers so had to improvise with sheets. Please could duvet covers be provided

The apartment is spacious and would be comfortable for a number of guests. The sun streamed into the living room which is vital for me. The decor was very calm and tasteful, a bit Danish modern. There were feather comforters which gave the apartment extra luxury. The kitchen and bathroom fixtures are new and worked!
The couch offered very little support and light for reading was a challenge. This is not unusual in Italian, rental apartments.

Great location steps away from Valporetto stop. Clean, safe. Well stocked kitchen. AC. Fast WiFi internet. A bath tub. Excellent and mots helpful staff.
Nothing at all!

Das Apartment liegt sehr ruhig aber dennoch zentral.
Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Von Kaffeemaschine, Regenschirm und Bücherwand - es ist alles vorhanden um sich "zu Hause" zu fühlen.

This is a beautiful apartment which is well equipped. It is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood with many amenities but within walking distance of many of Venice’s attractions. Salute vaporetto stop is close. Excellent customer service from Views on Venice especially from Cristina. It is exactly as described. Highly recommend.

Great Design in a lovely location
Great Design in a Lovely location with wonderful service.
Lovely sun filled Living room with floor to ceiling French Doors to a standing balcony overlooking the tree lined Río Terra. Don’t miss the charming corner view from the Guest bedroom.
The bed is very comfortable and so is the sofa. The rooms are well proportioned for the size of the apartment.
I would have loved to book it more, but others obviously already discovered this gem of an apartment.
Put an opake curtain or sliding door to the laundry room…
