This home has been recently renovated inside and out. New air conditioning installed upstairs and down for 2022 season. Although in a quiet cove, the private dock has deep water, great views and lots of space to hang. There are 2 paddleboards, wonder noodles and water lounges as well as some water toys and beach towels available to use during your stay. There are lots a places here to relax and enjoy the lake - my favorite is the hanging chair on the top deck! There are rocking chairs on the top deck, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee. A love seat and chairs on the lower porch for sipping a beverage with friends. A table and chairs with umbrella on the pier for eating lunch while fishing and swimming. A set of lounge chairs on the dock for reading that neglected stack of magazines. A large patio with dining table and picnic table, perfect for sharing a meal with family while enjoying the sunset. Then flip on the string lights and enjoy those perfect summer nights by the water. The kitchen is fully appointed with dishes, utensils, cookware and small appliances including a blender, coffee maker, toaster and crock pot. There are also some cooking basics such as common spices, flour, sugar, oil and coffee. A 36" Blackstone griddle is located on the upstairs deck, close to the kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms in the home. The first and second bedrooms have queen sized beds and the third is a bunk room with a full sized bed on bottom and twin up. Crib and highchair provided upon request. There is wireless internet available as well as 3 flat screen TV's with Roku, Netflix and Disney+ service. There are also books, board games and cards. A half bath up is located upstairs, and a full bath with deep soaker tub is located on the same level as the bedrooms. We recently added an outdoor lake shower with hot and cold water for rinsing off. The lower level also has the washer and dryer.
We truly want all our guests to enjoy our Green Heron Cottage as much as we do and try to provide everything needed to simply come and relax.
For the protection of the home and the safety those who help maintain it, there are security cameras on the exterior of the cottage viewing the front porch and garage area.

We had the absolute BEST time at the Green Heron. The owners thought of everything that I guest might need. Those little details mean a lot. The house is decorated so cute and it’s so clean. It was so nice to relax and unwind. We will definitely be staying here again!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The home is beautiful! Just what we needed for our stay! The amount of thought that was put in to every detail from the cute signage, labels, having all of the convenience items you could think of, and more! The lake was quiet and there was so much room for boating, riding jet skis, paddle boarding, kayaking and just floating! The perfect getaway!

This recently renovated lake home has everything you need. Sheets, bath towels and lake towels are plentiful. Kitchen utensils, pots, pans snd appliances are readily available. The kitchen is stocked better than my own- even a crock pot! The place was clean, the beds were very comfortable (I wish I looked to see what kind of mattress it was!) and there were even plants and flowers in large planters for some nice landscaping. This home is on a quiet cove of Lake Norman. The location is a bit more remote than I expected but stores and pharmacy are less than 10 minutes away. The only thing to be aware of if you experience any kind of mobility disability is that there are quite a few steps to get to the dock, as with many lake homes. Really nice house with all the extras.

Awesome place to stay!! The house was sitting in a nice quiet cove that was very peaceful. Grandkids enjoyed fishing and swimming off the dock after long days tubing on the water. Everyone had a blast!!

We needed a “get away” from the holiday hustle and “real life” in general. The Green Heron did not disappoint.
The house was the perfect size for us to relax, unwind and regroup to begin the new year!
Upon arrival, we found the home to be clean, beautifully decorated and just as described in the listing.
Because of the season, we didn’t use the outdoor amenities, like the boat dock, grill, outdoor shower, etc.
The bed we used was comfy, and we were comfortable in general. The water pressure / temperature in the shower was great. Plenty of extra towels, blankets, etc.
We noticed a high chair in the kitchen closet, a baby gate too, in case you have toddlers with you for your stay. We have grandchildren, so we noticed, even though they didn’t stay with us on this trip.
The kitchen was well appointed with cookware, utensils, coffee pot, tea pot etc and we did cook a few meals during our stay.
I am a quilter and used the dining room to sew a bit while we were there while my husband enjoyed the television / internet with Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions.
We will definitely consider renting this precious home again in the future.

The cottage is in a great neighborhood and fairly secluded, not like other places along Lake Norman. It was the perfect size for 2 adults, 2 teens and a younger kid. The kids really enjoyed fishing off the dock, every day, all day!
The house has everything you need for your stay, including towels for the lake! We were grateful for all the amenities that they provided.
One of the best surprises, the house is SO close to a mountain biking park. It is the perfect place to bike, trail run, hike and there is even a playground. The pickleball courts were pretty busy, but that is also a bonus! There is a pier to fish and a spot to launch kayaks, paddle boards or a canoe. Great location.
Overall, we were extremely pleased with the house, the location and the amount of things to do in the area.

We had an absolutely wonderful (and most relaxing) stay at your place! It was a great location and all of the included amenities truly impressed us. Our kids enjoyed fishing and swimming off of your dock, and we loved having our family dinners on your patio (outdoor space with string lights was a bonus). Thanks for sharing your little gem and hopefully we'll be able to visit again!

Exactly what I was looking for! My boys and I had a great weekend on the water swimming and fishing. The house was perfect for us, although we were hardly inside. We can't wait to come back!

Our family spent 5 days visiting North Carolina and stayed at the Green Heron cottage. It was a quiet getaway, right on the lake with beautiful views. We are a family of four and had plenty of space. The amenities and interior decor were exactly as described. So cozy and cute! My only complaint is that the outdoor spaces (patio, stairs, etc) were not cleaned up from the winter months in time for our visit. We were close to the grocery store and we went to a few restaurants within a 20 minute drive. We spent some time in Charlotte as well. Our host was easy to access for questions and responded quickly. I would love to visit again in the summer to take full advantage of the lake and warm North Carolina weather!

I rented the property for the fall NASCAR weekend. It was relaxing to be away from the city and have a quite location to wake up and come home to. The host, Jennifer, is extremely kind and gracious. She made sure we had any essentials and answered all questions before and during the stay. Next time I come to Charlotte, I would love to stay here again.

This property was very accurate with the listing! Cute and quant for our 5 girl weekend getaway. Away from town, in a quiet cove but not too far off the beaten path. The property was very clean, kitchen was equipped with the necessities, and the beds were very comfortable! We swam and paddled right of the dock, and enjoyed the evening sunset on the water.
Our only complaint was the monstrosity of spider webs!! 😅 Although it is September, I get on the water there will be bugs but the spider webs were overrunning the outside amenities.

The green heron lake house was a wonderful escape from everyday reality. Jennifer was an excellent host and put incredible thought into the organization of the house. To wake up to the lake was so calming and peaceful. Would definitely visit again.

Perfect Lake Norman Getaway
Green Heron Cottage was the perfect rental for our recent trip to Lake Norman. There were so many thoughtful touches that really elevated our stay--pre-loaded firewood and kindling in the fire pit; ample oils, spices, food storage containers, and cleaning supplies; and great lake toys, including stand up paddleboards. We really enjoyed trying out the Blackstone outdoor griddle, and the picnic table area with string lights was perfect for a small family get together. We would definitely return to Green Heron Cottage for our next lake stay!

We just arrived home from our wonderful week at this lakefront home on Lake Norman. The home is far better than we ever expected and we would absolutely return in the future. The area of the lake upon which this house resides is so quiet and uncrowded. We rented a pontoon a s tubes for hours super close to the house. The paddle boards were a wonderful addition and the kitchen has absolutely everything one could think of. The home was immaculately cleaned with wonderful linens and towels. One of the best things was of all were all of the hooks available for hanging wet things. The only improvement that I could suggest would be an air conditioning unit on the lower level — you have to absolutely freeze out the upstairs in order to be cool enough downstairs in 90 degree days. All in all an amazing rental.
