About this house rental
This craftsman-style home sits directly across from the Barlow, in the heart of Sebastopol. With its ideal weather, Sebastopol is located in the heart of the premier California wine country. Each changing season brings its own beauty to the rolling hills of the vineyards. Sebastopol has maintained its small town atmosphere while offering visitors world class amenities.
The space
This home has been meticulously restored to its original beauty. The graceful architecture of the home is accentuated with furniture in the craftsman style. It is a house filled with light. The home is ideal for accommodating families or friends gathering for that special event or a tour of the wine country. The surrounding gardens with their plants and flowers add to the serene feeling of this setting. The side yard offers a private setting with two patio areas! The umbrella shaded patio table with chairs is ideal for enjoying that morning coffee or visits with friends. The second slate patio holds a gracious grouping of deep cushioned furniture with a sail shade and string of lights for lounging in the evening. The home's central location in Sebastopol puts it within walking distance to all of the downtown area. You're just across the street from The Barlow, a market complex featuring local food, wine, beer, spirits and crafts made onsite by Sonoma county artisans. And don't forget Screamin' Mimi's, the award winning ice cream parlor! Sebastopol is fortunate to be home to artists whose art work can be seen in local galleries and restaurants. The Joe Rodota bike trail, half a block away, is ideal for that walk, jog, or bike outing to Santa Rosa or Forestville.
Each of the beds is Cal King (with the exception of the bunk beds) and all the beds (including the bunk beds) have been chosen with your comfort in mind; in the quality of the mattresses, the softness of the mattress toppers, and the linens. Guests often comment on the comfort of the beds.
Guest access
The entire house is yours to enjoy (with the exception of a small utility basement). The gas fireplace, ideal for those cool evenings, can be lit with the touch of a remote button. The side yard provides a private retreat with two patios for a quiet moment or a serene setting to share with friends. The well supplied laundry room with its washer and dryer is also available for your use. You'll find a large basket filled with beach towels for that trip to the beach.
There is parking available for 3 cars in the curved driveway under the portico. Additional free parking is also available on a side street directly across the street from the home.
Other things to note
I welcome dogs with prior approval and know that many people wish to travel with their beloved pets. Because my home has wooden floors along with leather couches, it's important that these are protected from scratching of pets with long nails and enthusiastic personalities. I charge a $400 deposit to ensure for the possible cost of any damage caused by your pet. This is in addition to the pet cleaning fee ($100 per pet). If no damage occurs you will, of course, not be charged the $400.
Misc
My home's location (directly across from The Barlow and centrally located in Sebastopol), while ideal for easy walking access to Sebastopol's many attractions, does mean there is traffic noise, as in any city. Sebastopol is in the middle of wine country with many vineyards within easy driving distance!

This is the second time my family has stayed here. Very clean and well set up accommodations and great location. We would not hesitate to stay a third time.

This beautiful older home is conveniently located among many wineries, Armstrong Park, and across from the Barlow filled with great grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. Airports are close too. Owner gives prompt attention. Parking is somewhat restricted for a larger van.

It was a really great place for a family reunion, with everyone coming from other states and thus unfamiliar with Sebastopol and Sonoma County. Highly recommended!

Charming: built in 1927, the home has many of the original details from that period - wood floors, built-ins, large front porch
Comfortable: the house has been renovated and well-insulated against weather and noise. Beds are extremely comfortable; bathrooms and kitchen are updated and attractive
Well-equipped: literally FOUR methods to make coffee are provided; beach towels for outings (we used them to go swimming in the Russian River); a pet basket for our animal friends - we had our dog with us (pets are allowed which was a great help to us)
Location is stellar - you just cross the street to The Barlow where there are great restaurants, stores, and a market
Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

What a lovely old home that has been remodeled and is a perfect location to walk across the street to the Barlow. The mature trees on the property made sitting on the front porch very enjoyable. There is also a great seating area beside the house home as well. The beds were amazing and everyone raved about how well they slept.
Cathy communicated everything so well prior to our stay and I can’t say enough great things about this home and our stay in it.

Fantastic location, enough parking for all the guests (though getting in/out requires some attention). Some of the bedrooms that face the street get some road noise but back rooms are pretty quiet. Yard is not fenced if you bring a dog. Nice touches provided like freshly roasted coffee beans, towels for dog, and clear instructions.

Great location if you want to be within walking distance of main Street and the Barlow. Great outdoor area, comfortable beds and living room, well equipped kitchen, clean. Would definitely come back. Cathy even left us freshly roasted coffee beans.

Owner thought of everything: comfy beds and pillows, wine glasses, beach towels, a notebook with useful info, etc. We love the house and the backyard seating area. And the location couldn’t be better. Walk 2 minutes to the Barlow District and you’ll find everything: nice restaurants, bars and breweries, a river store… the works! We were 20 minutes away from Burke’s canoes and kayaks if you want to spend the day on the Russian River. Russian River brewing is even closer. And there are many wineries in the area, with great point noirs, chardonnays and more.

My family and I felt very much at home and even pampered with the luxourious bedding and beautiful Craftsman-style furniture and acessories. Our hostess was quick to answer questions and provided all the information and recommendatiins we needed for an excellent visit to this quaint and fun destination!

The house was clean and had everything we needed, especially the kitchen. We were able to cook a meal for nearby family. The house was ready for us. The instructions for entry were clear and easy to follow. The drive to leave the property is somewhat narrow, so the driver needs to be cautious when leaving.

This was a great rental in all aspects...from the booking through check out. We requested an early check in as we were traveling with our twin babies and our host was gracious and accommodating. The location couldn't be any better for the wedding we were in town for which took place just across the street at the Barlow. Conveniently located across from a great organic local market which was a plus. Comfortable, spacious, and charming spot for our family stay. We would definitely return if we were ever to spend time in Sebastopol area again.

Very spacious, clean and good attention to amenity detail. The negative inherently with property is the street noise This would have been more tolerable if the AC had not ma functioned on second night. Call to management went unreturned.

We loved staying here and walking across the street to all the great restaurants, breweries and shops at the Barlow. The house is big, clean and has lots of charm. There’s a porch out front and a nice little patio out back to enjoy the weather. Keep in mind, because of the great location there is a bit of noise from the street. The room in the back is quiet but the rooms in front can hear the traffic. But the host is thoughtful enough to provide white noise machines so for most people it should be fine!

Our group of 7 had the best time staying in this house. It was roomy and comfortable. The beds and sheets were so soft, we slept great! The owner was so sweet and responsive! She gave us tips on where to go and how to spend our time while we were in town. The location is walking distance to the Barlow which was great for our group! We will be staying here again!

Spacious, clean, charming home
The property was as depicted - even nicer in that it is even more spacious, bright and clean. Street noise was a bit of an issue for some in our party but the owner has installed good windows and has white noise machines; plus the downstairs bedroom does not get the same impact. Positive trade off is convenient location. Loved proximity to bike trails, good food, downtown, and the home is well appointed in a charming and personal way with lovely accessories that don’t feel like generic vacation rental stuff but someone’s own good taste. Beds comfy, kids room sweet, plenty of soap, shampoos, towels etc. Ready communication with owner, really nice experience for our Thanksgiving holiday stay.

Perfect
5 ladies on a wine trip. Perfect location, loved walking to Barlow, there was some car noise but we knew that before and there were sound machines in each room.

Sebastopol
The home was beautiful, perfect for 4 adults and a young child.
The Location was good but right on the busy highway going into Sebastopol. The lovely patio was too noisy to enjoy.

Beautiful house conveniently located by the Barlow
A spacious, clean home with comfortable beds. Enjoyed the outside sitting area to relax. Convenient location does come with traffic noise, but closed windows help block much of it when in the house. We'd stay here again!

Great layout and comfortable home!
Thank you for sharing your lovely home. We enjoyed our time reconnecting and relaxing! The traffic noise really didn’t bother our group, just make sure you close the windows and noise disappears. Sound machines were a nice surprise if you like to sleep with white noise. Would definitely return and recommend this home.

Beautiful home, great service!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The owner was very thorough and the property was quaint and nicely appointed. The only minor thing that I would point out is that, even though the house is nicely tucked away, it’s on a busy stretch of road so there is some road noise. Bring earplugs and you will be perfectly happy!

Great house
Beautiful restored home in great location in terms of being close to the Barlow and downtown Sebastapol. Home is on hwy 12 so lots of traffic noise. The owner gave very detailed house instructions and also said that there can be traffic noise so we were aware of it. Had a great couple days in the house!

Beautiful home, location has plusses and minuses
This is a beautiful Bungalow that was clearly restored with great love and skill. It's clean, well appointed, and has a cool layout that easily provides both shared spaces and privacy when needed/wanted, which was great for our group of 3 adult siblings, gathering for the first time in 2 years for an East/West coast reunion. The beds are super-comfortable and you can tell that care was taken to provide a selection of pillows on each so that any guest would be able to find the perfect place to rest their head. The only surprise was that the pictures and description somehow gave us the impression the house was tucked away, when it is actually on a main road, with a steady stream of both truck and car traffic. If you are sensitive to road noise (and we realize not everyone IS), we figured it would be good to know about the road ahead of time so you can plan accordingly. The great thing about the location, though, is that you are literally steps away from the Barlow - a very cool area with all the shops, restaurants and entertainment you could possibly need for a great vacation.
