About this house rental

Newly renovated 1940's Bungalow located in the heart of Mayberry. We are within walking distance to downtown shopping, restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. We are literally around the corner from Wally's Service Station where they offer rides in the squad cars. Pilot Mtn park is a 15 minute drive south on hwy 52. It has some amazing views and hiking paths. Speaking of walking paths, Mount Airy has some beautiful paths downtown, along the river.
We are in close proximity to several Yadkin Valley wineries. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a 15 minute ride north of us. It's a beautiful sight anytime of the year but Fall is amazing.
This home has 3 bedrooms (queen bed, full bed and bunk beds - 200lb limit on bunks) 2 baths (one tub / one shower) and is full of charm.
We have two porches and a deck to sit and relax on (smoking permitted there only, not inside the home) and enjoy the NC weather.
Our home has WiFi, cable TV, fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Extra linens are available and the beds are freshly made.

We have parking to accommodate 4 cars.

We take cleaning serious! We do our best to provide you with a clean, comfortable environment.

Pets with good manners are welcome. We only ask you to please close the doors to the bedrooms you are not using. Please also know that there are gaps in the fence where a small dog can slip through. Don't forget to bring your pet's favorite bedding with you so they are comfortable.

Children should be over 5 years old. Please be aware that we have cleaning supplies within reach of small hands.

Liz the host was wonderful from start to finish. Booking was super easy and all questions were answered quickly. My cat was allowed to stay. House is just blocks from downtown Mount Airy. Many wonderful things to do. Most enjoyed was the squad car tour and the Andy Griffith Museum. Love the chocolate soda at Walker’s. Barney’s Cafe and Snappy Linch were also a highlight if you’re a fan of the Andy Griffith show.

The House is beautiful and very clean. I met the owners and they were very nice and accommodating. We have stayed in many homes over the years in Mount Airy and this one is the absolute best one. It is close to town and easy to get in and out.

We absolutely fell in love with this home during a long-weekend stay!! Everything about it was so charming and beautiful <3 The owner left candy, snacks and even pizza rolls and breakfast sammies in the freezer, we felt so cared for! Huge kudos for also redoing this home - we saw it on Google Earth and were taken aback by how much it's been approved! Can't wait to stay again!!

The craftsman house is adorable. The neighborhood was quiet and very walkable. With rocking chairs on the front porch, candy and snack jars on the countertop, water bottles and soda in the refrigerator, the house is well stocked and so cozy. We would definitely recommend staying here.

My dad is a lifelong fan of the Andy Griffith Show. For his birthday, we brought him to see Mayberry/Mr. Airy. It did not disappoint. The trip was made even more special because we stayed at this precious place! Truly a gem!

The owner went to a lot of expense of rehabbing this home to a very nice short term rental. We're Realtors, Investors and also own short term rental properties so we know a Nice Place when we see one! From the above average rehab to the homely decor this was a great place to stay! We highly recommend this place!

We were visiting family in the surrounding area and this home was the perfect base. Easy walk to Main Street for the Mayberry experience. Easy drives to Pilot Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Good location for visiting the wineries. Fantastic host, who answered all questions before arrival and some even after we arrived. Beautiful house that reflects the area. Exactly as shown. (I wanted to put the paisley chairs in my suitcase.) Well provisioned for visitors, even those who want to cook. The outside space would be a treat, but it was winter for us, so only a few mornings on the front porch in the sunshine. Very quiet neighbourhood. We can highly recommend the property.

This was by far the loveliest home we have booked through VRBO ! Very clean and all the amenities were top shelf , as well as the furnishings and bedding . The " Bank Street Bungalow " was tastefully decorated for Christmas that added a homey feel to our stay ! The house is an easy 5 min. walk into town . We went to a concert in the Earle Theater and it was a 4 min. drive . Visited several wineries all under 30 min. away .We cannot say enough good things about our stay.......THANK YOU

We had the best time! We came to visit some of the local wineries in the area. The house itself was comfortable and very charming! There were five of us and we had plenty of space. Our favorite part of the house was the back deck, where we could just laugh and relax! Thank you for a fantastic stay!!!

The home is completely renovated and quite spacious with an open concept. Beautifully done. Very clean and well appointed. It was so relaxing to sit on the front porch with a glass of wine and actually hear the birds. Very quiet neighborhood with the main street within walking distance. Highly recommend.

The BEST place to stay at. We are planning on another trip just to enjoy and relax at. The house was perfect, very nicely decorated and very comfortable. Description was correct. Our hostess was very responsive to any question we had. Pricing was very good. We LOVED it!

This was a wonderful weekend trip. When we arrived we took our luggage in and left to walk downtown. A lovely walk and such a delightful downtown. This home is fully furnished. Liz even has some treats on the counter with a candy dish and a cracker jar. A perfect rocking chair front porch. The beds were a bit firm for our family but that is preference personal choice. Highly recommend. This house has everything from A-Z! You want be disappointed. Already planning our next trip. Liz was a delight and very quick on corresponding. Make this your next visit you'll be glad you did.

Of all the homes we have rented in the past few years this was beyond a doubt the best property. Clean, well decorated and convenient. We spent 13 days here and thoroughly enjoyed the home and the Mt Airy area. This property is close to so much that it made for a most enjoyable stay.

This house was perfect! Lots of attention to details-not only beautiful & comfortable, but very clean & had everything you could need!!! Plenty of space to spread out inside, & great porches outside! Within easy walking distance to everything downtown… We hated to leave!

Our visit was to celebrate 51st anniversary. House was in a perfect location to walk to downtown Mayberry. House was well equipped for our stay and fenced back yard was great for our dog. Neighborhood quiet and safe. Loved the updated kitchen. Best VRBO we have stayed in. All family members were impressed with house.

The house is so welcome and cozy. It actually became one of the main attractions to our trip. After spending time in town we couldn’t wait to get back to the bungalow. We discussed how we would like a house just like it as our retirement home. We hated to leave. Very nice, quiet neighborhood. We loved sitting in the rockers on the front porch sipping tea and listening to the crickets and frogs. ❤️
