Everything was perfect!

I loved my stay in this cozy house in Bessemer. The house had everything I needed for a week-long stay. It felt more like staying with family than staying in a sterile, sparsely-furnished rental. Everything I could have imagined was provided. The host was very helpful and communicative. I hope to visit again next summer.

This is a very nice house and yard. The owner kept us informed about how to keep house temp comfortable and offered suggestions of activities in the area.

The home 2as very clean, organized, a lot of things, like a ninja blender, air fryer, spices, etc. The oven is a little slow to heat up. The stairs are a bit steep and short so beware, but it is an old house. The bathroom shower head is a bit short, and the bathroom upstairs is very narrow, not suited for tall or wide. The yard looked nice, didnt get to use all amenities as we were using this as a base to our other daily activities. The owner was very kind on short minute notices, it was very secure and safe. I would highly recommend this property.

We have stayed several times in the UP and this was our favorite property. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and we saw several deer walking around and an old sweet black lab that walks around the block. Host is always available and you can communicate with him at any time. The internet is very good for any remote workers or gamers, you will be just fine. We were able to DoorDash meals which was such a convenience, as we own a restaurant and didn’t want to have to cook. But if you do want to, everything you need is there with a lot of spices available. We will be back!

The house was cute and had everything we needed. It was also super clean. It’s in a perfect location as well. My only complaint, which is not the owners fault, is the amount of junk you see in the neighbors yard looking outside the window. Also, the fireplace is great for cold nights.

This miner’s cottage provided my family with an authentic UP experience! We were only a few minutes away from Big Powderhorn and Snow River skiing. The location is also close to the Black River National Scenic Byway and area eateries in Ironwood and Bessemer.
The property itself provided plenty of room for my family including three teens. The cottage is comfortable, cozy, and just the right amount of rustic to remind you that you are up North. The owner keeps the property well stocked allowing you to focus more on fun than shopping.
This property would be perfect for hosting a group of skiers, sledders, hikers, or ATVers.
The owner was an active communicator and showed genuine interest in our enjoying our stay. The location is in a quiet neighborhood in Bessemer, MI.
Be aware that Bessemer is a small town that is working its way back from it hay days as a mining community. It can look a little worn and rough in places. Many of us have come to appreciate that as the story of the UP and consider it part of the experience. Just be prepared for quaint and rustic vs a glitzy resort vibe.

We would highly recommend staying here for anyone traveling near or around the Porcupine Mountains with pets. This place has everything one wound need and than some, we especially enjoyed the indoor wood burning fireplace during the Fall season. Joe checked on us throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We especially liked the fact the home had been within short distances to the beautiful waterfalls in the area.

You have a large blended family; so, finding accommodations in a typical hotel, just won’t do. Traveled for a family wedding on my side and all of the family enjoyed this place; not an easy feat with my step kids. We didn’t have much time but enjoyed that they were games available for all ages and a nice roomy open living & dining space. We hope to return here again sometime.

Very cute home and perfect for our getaway! Very quiet neighborhood and lots of dogs around. Worked out great with our little dog! Joe was super helpful with information on where to go! I loved little girl point and hunting for agates! So beautiful! We would definitely come here again!

Excellent accommodations - very cozy in a nice quiet neighborhood. The stairs to the second floor were a bit of a challenge for us over 70-year-olds. A great stay!!! Would definitely stay here again.

House was clean as a whistle. Everything was just like posted. 100x better that a motel! Loved it.

Where to begin with this property. To start we had been searching for about a good week as well as calling or emailing hotels and motels trying to get rates and quotes for our week. As we were searching, every time we'd come back, we kept coming back to this property. We finally bit the bullet and started taking a harder look at it. This was my initial contact with Joe, the property owner. Joe was more than gracious in answering our questions.
Reservation was painless and so easy.
Joe continued to answer any and all questions we had before we arrived. The instructions for check in and general rules were very clear and concise. There was a book with the same rules plus some extra things, plus a guide to local menus and establishments. The home far exceeded our expectations. It was cozy, simple, and perfectly suited our needs. Check out was just as easy and perfect after a long weekend.
I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking in the area. We plan on utilizing this property as soon as we return to the area.

We were in town visiting family and spending most of the time at their house. This is exactly what we needed-a place to sleep and grab a quick breakfast before our daily adventures. Desk space was a pleasant surprise as I had to work some while we were there. Quiet neighborhood.

Nicely appointed classic house in Bessemer. Lots of thoughtful details, including everything one might need for an enjoyable stay.

Perfect setup, great price, and near the slopes. Three skiers and a dog enjoyed three solid days of skiing. Property owner was great and extremely helpful. Firewood needed a bit more drying time, but one message and the owner had a load of dry firewood dropped off! Great service and made the stay even better. Highly recommend if you want to explore the area and have a cozy place to come back to. Already planning for next year!

We needed a place to cozy up after skiing at Jackson Creek and Black River Basin all weekend and this place checked all the boxes. Nice and close to the hills. Clean. Warm. All the basics we needed. My kids were thrilled about the bunk bed. The owner communicates well. Is it fancy? No but it didn’t need to be and we weren’t expecting it to be. Overall very pleased and if we come back to the area would rent it again.

This place was the PERFECT choice for my snowmobile trip to the UP. Couldnt beat the location with the trail just 2 blocks north! Lots of places to eat, many ski mountains and best snowmobile trails in the country! Was suppose to be 4 guys but only 2 guys made it, which was still ok! Plenty of space! Will be recommending this one to others and will be returning next year!

This is a great North woods house close to all the ski hills in the area. We found this house very relaxing after a day of skiing, like a home away from home. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Visited for a family ski trip. Cozy home close to multiple ski resorts. Easy communication with property manager. Would stay again if we plan another ski trip in the UP.

Such a great place with all the added little touches of home. The living area is so cozy with the fireplace. The dining room is perfect for gathering, eating, and socializing. The kitchen has everything you need. The bedrooms are warm and cozy. The bathrooms are great… but the strong shower is amazing with great hot water! It has all you oils ask for a winter retreat. Joe is so great too! We have made this our annual tradition!

This house is cute and cozy, and a wonderful location. You are literally 8 minutes from Big Powderhorn. The fireplace created a warm place to relax or read. We truly enjoyed our week in this house. Joe was a very gracious host, and kept the driveway plowed after each snowfall. We'll definitely consider going back. I worked from the house and wifi worked flawlessly. No issues during any of my Zoom meetings.

We stayed at this property to enjoy a couple days of skiing both White Cap and Big Powderhorn. The house was close to these mountains as well as the local grocery store and anywhere we wanted to go. The fireplace was amazing to come back to after a long day on the slopes! And Joe was a great communicator throughout the entire process. Would definitely stay here again!

Joe and his wife checked in with us periodically to see if we needed anything and to recommend possible activities. Due to a blizzard we were inside for more time than we had hoped. But it was a nice cozy cottage feel.

We enjoyed the stay, the fireplace is awesome, it’s an old place so if you are looking for an adventure this is a the house you are looking for. We stayed here more than a week, the only thing that they doesn’t have is the laundry machine and dryer. But there is a laundry mat close in town. But I hope that they will put one on our next stay.

Quaint. Retro cottage feel. Unique/neat aesthetic, nice elements that lend to the overall character of the dwelling. Pet friendly listing (although we didn’t come with our pet but a pet bed was present). My son and I stayed here and it was fine. Joe appeared kind.

My fiance and I had a great stay this Fall - we loved being able to bring our dog with us! If you love the cozy cabin feel then this place is for you. We will definitely be considering Joe's place when we come back to the Ironwood/Bessemer area!

Joe was a great host! We had everything we needed. Perfect getaway location - amazing outdoor activities with creature comforts still nearby!

The weather was cold and snowy during our October trip but that made this home all the cozier. The home has everything for a comfortable stay. I especially appreciated the upgrades of the new touch controlled thermostat and the easy access lockbox with motion activated light. Perfect size for us and our college aged kid. The hearty food at nearby restaurants was delicious after working up an appetite exploring the Black River beach and the waterfalls. Ironwood and Bessemer have lots of shops and museums to visit. Can’t wait to go back and keep exploring the area. The host was friendly and helpful. Thanks Joe. We had a fantastic stay in your home away from home. Jane, Mike and Jay

The host was wonderful, they checked on us daily. Close to stores, restaurants and town. If you are looking for seclusion this is not the home for you. You are in town. Close to skiing. Lovely fireplace. had everything needed for a home away from home stay. We truly enjoyed our week away from everything and the host was always helpful.

This property was cute and clean. Very homey and had a wonderful kitchen. It was perfect for just the two of us but would have also worked for a family or group of friends. The area overall was quiet and we loved standing out on the bedroom porch. It was also not too far from stores. Walmart is 7 minutes away. We were there to hike the Porcupine mountians. It was about a 50 minute drive to the porkies but was close to several of the waterfalls in the area. Our host left us thoughtful pamphlets with suggested hikes, bakeries, and restaurant recommendations. Overall this place was the perfect spot for our trip😊

Very clean, in a quiet neighborhood off the main roads, with a lived-in and well-loved feel, my husband and I along with our 2 dogs could not have chanced on a more perfect place for our first Vrbo stay. From the selection of books with a little something for any taste to the variety of music CDs, the thoughtful touches were everywhere. There was a collection of little rubber ducks, an array of pebbles arranged on the edge of the wainscoting in the bathroom, 2 big comfy sofas, and a well-stocked kitchen. Our check-in process was seamless, and when the kitchen light fixture suffered a burned-out bulb, Joe stopped by promptly to fix the problem. Communication and expectations were clear, and we were completely comfortable in every sense. Thanks so much, Joe--we really enjoyed our stay and wish it could have been twice as long!
