I think the.place Waa pretty good. But could sleep as it was too loud and noisy the bed was amazing . But once the noise stopped 345am the some one was cleaning up a.d smashing bottles in the bin. So yeah
To noisy only become quiet at 5 am woohoo

Not much.
Pretty grimy, terrible ‘cube rooms’ that are like prison cells with no temperature regulation whatsoever. Common areas were grimy and sticky.

Awesome vibe, lots of people all super friendly and many social events on to choose from. Staff were incredible, super friendly and helpful and always seemed to be plenty of them around to help. Kitchen was cleaned regularly and facilities kept mostly tidy. Lovely nature-based hostel as not in town centre, surrounded by trees
Bit out of the way compared to other hostels in Byron, so a bit of a walk into town. Unfortunately it rained a lot while I was there, my dorm was a teepee so incredibly damp and quite a bit of mold. Not their fault that the weather was bad but ridiculously expensive considering it is effectively camping. Teepe accommodation should definitely be cheaper than dorms, and people warned of the dampness if weather is bad Also a very large hostel with lots of people camping out back, so was some problems with stealing.

The front reception staff day and night were friendly and helpful. Thanks guys.
The promo pictures, writeup and telephone call spiel do not match the accommodation on offer. I stayed in an Island Room which had mould all over the ceilings. Not recommended at all.

Unique. Sense of community

Literally nothing except for the jungle setting and sunbaking by the pool, but even then we were harassed by other guests shouting at us to play volleyball when we were clearly trying to relax.
The bathroom facilities were so absolutely disgusting that it literally made me vomit. The toilets were literally full of human excrement, the showers literally clogged with hair, nothing had been cleaned, for the entire stay we were there. We avoided using the bathrooms or showers at all times and dreaded it when we had to. When we asked a staff in the kitchen where we could find a cup she looked at me like I was asking for a million dollars and rudely replied "I don't think we have any." I had to eat my cereal with a fork as there were literally no spoons. The price for this place is an absolute JOKE. We paid less for a 4 star hotel on the Gold Coast. My sister and I, and many other guests we spoke to are appalled and should be refunded. The only redeeming quality of this place was the nature surrounding it and the pool.

Great location, bed was comfy.
The floor was filthy, it had a visible layer of dust/dirt on the floor and mat.
Walls are so thin so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper.

The location and staff are also friendly .

Probably the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. I stayed in a private room which wasn't cheap; it not only didn't match the description or photos, but it was filthy. There was hair and dirt everywhere. The bathroom was grimly. I would safely say that the bed was made, however the room wasn't actually cleaned properly in ages. Cobwebs throughout the room, Layers of dust on the fan, Mould on the small fridge in the room.
Walls are super thin so you could everything from the room next door. The outside area is very loud with music supposedly stopping at 10. Music was still being played at 3am. I couldnt connect to the wifi in the room.
The main kitchen was disgusting, with the sinks full of dirty dishes, the fridges were stuffed and looked disgusting. The whole hostel needs a major deep clean and chaotic free for all atmosphere as the staff seem to be nonexistent.

toilets weren’t clean, kitchen wasn’t clean, food got stolen, and rooms were too hot. don’t stay here if you’re not a hippy

cost wasn’t too bad compared to other places
came with my partner in a private room for 2 nights for a wedding. Entering the room it was extremely small but not a issue, we just didn’t like there was a dirty cup and spoon left in the room from the last people, it was noisy and we had random drunk people trying to get in our room multiple times when we was sleeping. Definitely not good for couples at all (backpackers only!) also there was no air con so very hot in the room. We felt so uncomfortable we even looked for other accommodation as we didn’t really want to spend 2 nights there.

My sheets were not changed or I was not offered a clean bottom sheet and I stayed for 9 nights, I would have been happy to change it myself.
Rooms too hot with just a ceiling fan or have bigger windows to allow more drafts. Or if the ceiling fan was in the centre of the room where it was equal would have been a lot better.
Shared kitchen...The cupboards and fridge spaces needs to be allocated to people on check in and given a box or bag with their name and check out date so food can be thrown out not just left there to rot and take up space or some system. in place, fill to overflowing. And I am not sure what you do with the lazy guests that don't clean up after themselves after cooking and eating and putting their smokes out in used dishes. Puts a downer on the overall stay,
More than one soap dispenser in the shared loos upstairs, hooks to hang your bag up behind the toilet doors and in the shower as you need somewhere for your clean clothes or toilet bag, The whole place was always cleaned every day including the carpark area pool to it never looked dirty, just untidy due to lazy guests, dumping their rubbish, its a shame as I guess they treat the rest of Australia like that when they are travelling around, a few spoil it for the rest of the overseas travellers.

Good location - 15 mins walking distance to the centre of Byron Bay and it’s beaches. Friendly staff. Great place to meet new people. Many facilities like a garden, pool, volleyball field etc. Overall, we would recommend the Arts Factory Lodge.
The kitchen was often very dirty and people didn’t clean up their dishes. It also seemed a bit small for that many people. The communal bathrooms were unacceptable at some times. (Our room was clean though.) Wall and ceiling of out private room seemed liked they could use a new layer of paint. It was quite loud at night and people didn’t stick to the 10 p.m. quiet time on the weekend.
3.5
the beds weren’t completely uncomfortable
there was yoga in the morning
it was filthy with turkeys roaming around the kitchen
the staff were rude and unhelpful
the doors of the rooms don’t lock
there are no charging ports near the beds, just 2 for the room at the door (even though it says there are in the description)
everyone (staff included) smoke weed all day and in the eating area
If you book a dorm, chances are you’ll ended up in a tent

Good location and relaxed vibes
The bathroom needs a renovation, the toilet was leaking water
3.5
location was very good and staff very friendly
music playing until 3.30am and then starting up again at 08.30. wall’s paper thin and communal showers and toilets
3.5
Location was kinda close to the beach and that there was a pool
The rooms where extremely hot and small for the amount we paid for and our bedding had blood on the sheets.
3.5
close enough to town to walk in
There were not enough bathrooms and they were not cleaned enough
Very noisy with music playing all the time even late at night.
