We rented this house for six weeks. We had some friends and family stay with us over the course of our stay. We had lived in the area several years ago before moving to the mainland and know the location to be ideal, with close access to many restaurants and shops. We did cook some meals and found the kitchen to be well equipped. The hosts live on the first floor and were very responsive to our needs. The view, of course, is spectacular.

Great place to stay and more … Super view of Diamond Head, Waikiki, Downtown Honolulu and east towards Hawai Kai … Spectacular sunsets … extremely relaxing.
Amenities were very close … We would recommend this home away from home to everyone looking for great value and an extraordinary experience … Kirsten is a great host and will keep you informed before and during your entire trip.

I loved this house from the get go. We stayed for a whole month. You will love the views from the deck. The whole house is big and roomy. There is no air conditioning, which my family had some trouble adjusting to, but by the end of the stay they did not want to leave! And Cristin brought extra fans and suggestions on how to keep the house cool for the heat of the day. Steep hills (comes with the view), big beautiful kitchen (ants greeted us, but again, comes with the territory-keep your kitchen clean and they go away). Authentic Hawaiian living is what you will get when you choose to stay here. It rained every day, but that just brought rainbows, and with the covered porch, you could sit outside and enjoy the views of the storms coming through. My only real complaint is the bus stop is at the front of the house. Convienient if you're using it, but loud if you're not. Lots of birds to listen to, we saw a parrot several times. And Cristin could not have been a better host! We would stay here again!

Cristin was a wonderful host. She made the check in very easy and promptly answered our questions. Her home was very comfortable and spacious and the view from the patio was fabulous. The location was centrally located to many of the places we frequented. It was definitely as advertised!

We stayed at Maunalani Heights for 6 weeks, with friends and family coming for a week at a time. Cristin and Soo are outstanding hosts. From the time I made the reservation, Cristin’s communication was great. Super quick responses to our questions and always accommodating our needs. She shared local tips for shopping, markets and restaurants. The amenities were amazing, we did not need for anything! This was the best equipped kitchen and home we have ever stayed in. We hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve with no trouble! The home was super clean, comfortable and cutely decorated. The lanai is amazing! The views!!!! From the sunrise, the ocean, Diamond Head to the sunsets!!! Fabulous! Loved it! The location worked great for us! We loved our stay there and will come again!

Superior in every way
I can't say enough about how great this property is and how extraordinary the hosts are. Cristin and her husband clearly work diligently to keep this home in excellent condition--everything is maintained in good working order, and the entire place is super clean from the floors, furniture, bathrooms, windows, kitchen (cupboards, drawers, appliances ..... ALL!), closets and linens, to even the deck furniture. You can feel the love the owners give to caring for this home.
The rental is a second floor unit above theirs, so I would have expected to hear their family below, but the upstairs is unexpectedly quiet. The location is as central as you can get for Honolulu, and the deck offers a panoramic view of an expansive portion of the south shoreline. Our hosts went above and beyond providing a safe and healthy environment during our month-long stay, a few examples being that they left a breathtaking flower arrangement for us on the deck one day which was created from a diverse array of indigenous plant life in their garden; another gift came from their boys leaving some freshly picked mangoes for us to enjoy; yet another is when I asked permission to pick some plumerias in order to make a few leis for a visiting family member, they not only graciously said yes, they also provided some needle and thread for us when I found that the local stores had run out of those lei making tools due to the recent graduation season.
If there were a 10 star rating, I would give this rental a 10. So grateful to Cristin and her family for embodying the true aloha of the islands and facilitating an absolutely wonderful stay on Oahu.

Home away from home
Absolutely amazing place to stay! The house is in a perfect location for branching out and exploring the island. The view from the lanai is breathtaking. The lovely owners have stocked the house with everything you could possibly need, including beach toys, chairs, umbrella's, towels. I can not recommend this place highly enough. I hope to make it back someday. Thank you for sharing your amazing space with us!

Brilliant spot to enjoy the view
The Kennedy's property was a great place for us to base ourselves during a time of turmoil across the world. After experiencing the worst bush fire season on record in Australia, coming to Hawai'i was going to be a vital part of my mental health and Cristin's property was a big part of that. Being able to sit and watch the beautiful view of Diamond Head without feeling any pressure to do anything else was great. The house certainly oozed relax here charm. Massively disappointed in Hawai'i governance decision to limit this type of accommodation, as I would definitely Not choose to stay in a big expensive hotel. I wish the Kennedy's all the best and hope that they'll still be able to share their beautiful part of Hawai'i into the future.

Perfect View of Diamond Head
We really enjoyed our stay at Cristin’s house. The view was amazing. The balcony was great to sit and watch the sunrise and sunset. The location was perfect for our vacation. It was away from down town Honolulu but within a 10-15 minute drive. We explored the island so the location was great to access all the different parts of the island. Cristin was very nice and gave us some good recommendations. The house was well stocked with everything you needed including beach chairs and snorkeling equipment. Our family would definitely stay here again on our next trip back to Oahu!

Great find on Oahu
This house was amazing! The view the view the view!!! Wake up to a full Diamond Head view from the Master. Sit on the lanai and enjoy the evening breezes. The house isn't new but is so comfortable. So close to Diamond Head, Waikiki, easy drive to Hanauma Bay.
Cristin gives you great instructions and shows you around the first day, then leaves you to yourselves unless you need her. Mahalo, Cristin, we will recommend your home to others and hope to return someday ourselves!

Family get away
The house was the perfect size for our family vacation! It was centrally located and away from the busy Waikiki area. We enjoy going to the beach and there was quite a bit of beach gear for us to use. We went to the beach everyday! It was also nice to have access to laundry room. It was very warm and humid for us since we are from Washington state and not use to that. It would've been nice to have air conditioning. There was a nice breeze each night to cool off the house but having the windows open you could hear every vehicle that drove by. Especially the loud buses. Overall, we enjoyed our stay! We miss Hawaii already and can't wait to go back!

Nice Location and Awesome House
We were an adult family of 5 who stayed at Cristin’s house in June. It’s a nice house and the first thing I thought (other than the spectacular view) was that I could live in a house like that. All the adjectives one typically gives to a small house apply…quaint, charming, cozy, and comfy…it’s a genuinely likeable house.
Cristin met us as we arrived and gave us a tour of the house and provided recommendations on where to go. For example, she said to go to the Costco near Hanauma Bay rather than the one near the airport because it’s less crowded (although there’s no gas station at the Hanauma Bay one).
The kitchen, pantry and bathrooms were well stocked with supplies. As of this writing, there were plenty things left by previous guests, like shampoos, sunscreen, and lots and lots of travel books. Cristin also provided a handful of snorkel equipment and a couple beach chairs for our use.
We happened to visit when a “heat wave” of 90 deg F was going on (we’re from Arizona and are used to 115 deg F during the summer, thus the quotation marks). Leaving all the windows open provides a lot of cooling wind to come through and it was indeed refreshing. However, a small room air conditioner in the northwest bedroom would have helped a lot. This probably isn’t a problem during normal times.
One small thing to be aware of is the road noise can be a little bothersome when trying to sleep. This is nothing a couple earplugs won’t take care of. In fact, I found I slept better with earplugs than I normally do at home without earplugs.
To summarize, this is a great house to stay at with a great view and real charm. It’s well stocked with just about everything one would need for a Hawaiian vacation. It’s perfectly located for quick trips to diamond head, Waikiki, Honolulu and Hanauma Bay. There are a ton of good restaurants within 5-15 minutes drive. Cristin was awesome and even mailed my mom’s forgotten glasses to her free of charge after we left.
This house is highly recommended and we would stay there again.

Perfect Oahu location
This property is perfectly situated close to many wonderful things to do, places to eat and beaches to enjoy on Oahu. The view from the balcony is stunning and the breezes really keep the place cool. There is a full kitchen and a outdoor grill but honestly we walked down the hill to coffee and pastries most mornings and ate out all over Oahu. Check in was very easy and Cristin had some suggestions on what to do when we first arrived and got the house tour. Otherwise, she and her sweet family are downstairs if you need them. Having laundry available was very nice! It was amazing to be able to relax after surfing, hiking, museums, tours, beaches, and sightseeing in a real home. Cristin was very generous and let us stay until the early afternoon on our last day so we could hike the Koko Head trail. We were there 10 days and I think you could stay 10 weeks or months and still not see or do all this island has to offer. Mahalo Cristin for sharing your lovely home!

This house was perfect for our family! The views of diamond head can't be beat! It was clean and comfortable. There were even kids toys which is a great amenity when you have an almost 3 year old! We would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic Views of Diamond Head and Waikiki
Great location in older Honolulu area with many nearby multi-cultural restaurants. Walking up the stairs to the front entrance on the lanai leads to the breath-taking and unobstructed views of Diamond Head, Waikiki and eastern Oahu that are impressive both day and night. Easy to navigate to all areas and a good base for exploring. Highly recommend touring the North Shore driving along the east side and visiting the Hawaii's Plantation Village toward the west near Pearl Harbor. Good value.

Very clean and very comfortable. Extremely well stocked, even has kids toys. Beautiful view. Great location. Perfect size for us with 5 adults and one toddler - would still be comfortable with 6 adults and 1-2 toddlers. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice stay
We had a very nice stay for our Christmas holiday. The house is in a very good location since we were able to drive to several nice beaches, easy reach, esp. to Waikiki. Driving in the neighborhood can be challenging at the beginning because of the steep hills, but it is fairly easy once you familiarise yourself with the roads.
The most impressive part of the house is the amazing of view of the ocean, Diamond Head and Waikiki high rises.
There is some street traffic during the day, but very quiet at night. The neighbours all around were super quiet throughout our stay of two weeks during Christmas.
Cristin was very responsive and helpful, we had a great stay at her house.

Fantastic home with amazing views
We had an excellent stay with six family members in this lovely home. It is very clean, comfortable, well appointed, and has charming island decor and a spacious layout with plenty of room for a group. The lanai is huge and the views are absolutely incredible. Highly recommended!

Everything you need and an incredible view!
This home is in an amazing location - close drive to all parts of the island. It had everything we needed for a family holiday, including everything we needed to cook two holiday dinners. I don't think you could get a better view anywhere on the island! Cristen was there for us whenever we needed anything.

Relaxing
Very nice and relaxing stay. The rooms were comfortable and had nice air flow. The view of Diamond Head and the skyline was spectacular. Only problem was my carmera. The view of the skyline could not be duplicated at night with my camera or my smartphone. Yet it was clear with no obstructions. I would recommend staying here to everyone.

Great view, wonderful hosts, nearby park otherwise not much walkable, on a huge hillside
Very spacious, kept up well, wonderful owners who are super responsive, lots of books and toys for kids, decent kitchen, nice grill on Lanai. Lack of AC gets pretty hot midday but cools off in the morning/evening. Nearby park is walkable otherwise have to drive for everything else. On a steep hill with great view, lots of road traffic on road below house makes some noise with windows open. Was a great home base for traveling by car around Oahu. Hosts super helpful with local recommendations. Would book again.

This was a very nice, clean, well maintained property, conveniently located for access to the H1 freeway. We had a nice stay, but there are both Pros and Cons to mention:
Pro: Location location location...the views are phenomenal, and many hours were spent enjoying Diamond Head and Honolulu/Waikiki throughout the evening, night, and morning. Sunsets were phenomenal as were the Friday night all to brief fireworks over Waikiki. We took advantage of the kitchen, which is clean, modern, and well stocked and prepared a number of meals eaten on the porch.
Cons: There is no air conditioning, so becomes very warm if the trade winds are not blowing. The street is very noisy well into the night and early morning with traffic; the sounds are muffled if the windows are closed but to do so means no ventilation. The back bedroom has no privacy, as the neighbors can look down right into the window; shades can be drawn but then the room is stifling warm due to lack of ventilation. The open garage is small, and the parking slot for guests is steep and makes it difficult to squeeze out of the car on the passenger side.
1.5
This house was centrally located to all of the spots we wanted to visit. The homeowner was very friendly and helpful. The sleeping conditions were uncomfortable for our family due to no air conditioning and the lack of trade winds. Anyone staying in the non-summer months or families not used to A/C might be okay but it was definitely warm when trying to sleep.

We had 4 lovely nights in this beautiful spot. It is ideally located for easy access to everything, but far enough away from the crowds to be very enjoyable. The view was spectacular, and we sat on the lanai in the mornings and evenings enjoying it to the fullest. The property was very clean and well appointed, and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. We enjoyed grilling and eating on the lanai. Cristin was very helpful with pre arrival information, and very helpful during our stay as well. Our party of 6 (4 adults and 2 teenagers) found the space to spread out, and we have no complaints. We highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Honolulu without staying in Waikiki. You do need a car, but parking is no problem, and access to everything is just minutes away. Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home.

Mikahala Ocean View was a great house for our sibling reunion. Very clean, and we've never had a VRBO house that was as well stocked as this one. Cristin greeted us with fresh mangos from her neighbor's tree, and was very helpful in helping us find our way around. View from the lanai (where we spent many hours) is amazing, with Diamond Head off in the distance, Waikiki, and a full moon! Very well stocked kitchen. Thank you, Cristin, for making us so comfortable.
2.5
We enjoyed our week-long stay here. The view is amazing - from Diamond Head to Waikiki and the house fit our needs extremely well. We had 4 adults and 2 children (2 and 5 years old), so the 3 bedrooms worked well for us. We made a lot of use of the lanai from breakfast to watch the morning light to evenings when we used the gas grill. The kitchen has everything we needed and the bin on the lanai had boogie boards, beach chairs, and other beach supplies. The owner also provides beach towels and access to the laundry room. She even brought us some fresh mangoes one afternoon! It's also a short drive to several grocery stores and only about 10-15 minutes to the beach.
Our only issue was some street noise in the master bedroom - the bus line runs on this street, so it's convenient to take the bus but we could hear the bus going up the hill at night.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we come back to Honolulu.
2.5
We had a very relaxing and memorable stay at this house for our families coming from US and Japan. Every morning, we enjoyed the amazing view while having breakfast on the lanai. We even saw the Friday night fireworks over Waikiki from the lanai. The house was very spacious and comfortable for my 18month old son to run around and for the adults to hang out. It had everything one would need for a Hawaii vacation - beach towels, boogie board, beach chairs and mats, beach toys, snorkels, everything! Cristin was very accommodating and even shared some of her baby equipments for my son. I would definitely stay here again!

The house is clean and comfortable, like home. It has great view. We loved it!

This beautiful house is surrounded by tropical trees and flowers. We enjoyed the cool breezes and sweeping views of the ocean, Diamond Head, and Honolulu from the spacious lanai. The house is fully equipped with everything, including all the gear you’ll need for your beach excursions (towels, chairs, toys, boogie boards, etc.). It was never more than a 7-10 minute drive to all the places we wanted to go in the Honolulu/Waikiki area. Having our own parking spot on the property was very convenient! Cristen gave us a warm and friendly welcome. She gave us tips on where to dine on nearby Waialae Avenue and we discovered a few on our own (our favorite was BREW’d Craft Pub). We really enjoyed our stay and I highly recommend this gorgeous property to other travelers!
2.5
The house was very clean and had all the amenities we needed for our stay. Tons of fresh white towels, kitchenware and an amazing view of Diamond Head. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

A little piece of Heaven!!! Loved the house! A very peaceful place to unwind.
Fully equipped with everything including Aloe Vera! Absolutely would stay here again. I would bring a smaller car though. Parking was tight.

Our family had a wonderful time in this comfortable, three bedroom home. The view from the lanai, living and dining rooms and master bedroom was spectacular from early morning to late at night. The home was spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. I really loved the neighborhood. We took some nice morning walks up to a park and down to the town for coffee. The Kaimuki neighborhood has some great restaurants that we enjoyed (The Edge, KokoHead Cafe, To Thai For and The Curb). The location is very close to the H-1 for easy drives to Waikiki and other locations to the east and west. The hosts were very welcoming. This is a great home to stay while visiting Oahu!
