Very much enjoyed our time in Uzes at this perfectly located flat. All main historical and cultural sites within a few minutes walk. Easy access to outdoor activities such as cycling and swimming. But flat is situated on 3rd floor with no lift access, and internal spiral staircase to access bathroom and top floor, so not suited to everyone. But it worked for our family and we had an unforgettable stay. Oliver was a kind and considerate host. Always easily accessible and quickly sorted out any issues that came up. Top marks from us. 🙏

The apartment location was perfect for us, right in the heart, with the terrace view to the castle, just as in the photos. The apartment was larger than I expected. It was great to have a kitchen and be able to shop at the markets and local wine shops. Owner/host was so helpful, especially when we needed a local doctor. Everything clean. Fun to lean out of the window downstairs and watch the street below. The host leaves you lots of information to help you find your way around. Internet excellent. It is 51 steps up to this place, so be aware if you travel with lots of heavy bags! Bathroom upstairs (spiral staircase) so take this into account. I would happily stay here again and recommend it. Five stars.

Great location!
My wife and I rented this apartment in Uzès, and it was great for us. It is a very roomy apartment with two levels. The location in the heart of the old city was wonderful, with many shops and restaurants very close by. Oliver was very easy to work with and had an apartment book with many recommendations of restaurants and things to do in the area. We would rent this apartment again if we are in Uzès again.

Traumhafte Lage 2 Geh-Minuten vom zentralen Platz in Uzes.
Checkin und -out waren sehr entspannt.

Loved Uzes - stairs to bathroom, no
It was easy to rent this property for 6 weeks and it’s in a perfect location - nice view from terrace, if you can use it. The place was dirty when arrived. Needed dusting, vacuuming and one bed upstairs hadn’t been changed from last guest. Lots of room for 2 to spread out. Nice kitchen with view and we cooked many meals. Could use a coffee machine. I think this apartment is probably used more often for people staying short term for which it is perfect - right in the middle of everything.

Great location.
The location couldn’t have been better. We did not have a car and had no trouble getting around town, hiking to nearby towns, or getting farther afield with the bus system. The apartment is on the top floor with a beautiful view, but that means there are a lot of steps and no elevator. That wasn’t a problem for us, but could be for some.

Charming apartment in central location
The apartment was comfortable, quirky and very centrally located. The host had left a lot of useful information about Uzes and the area for us. We enjoyed ourselves very much!

Perfect perch
While here we watched the flag fly over the Duchy and, had royalty looked our way, no doubt they would have been envious of our accommodations. Oliver was an exceptional host, the apartment delightful and the rooftop deck . . . well, as good as it gets.

Excellent location. Helpful host.
Arrived and settled in to a heat wave! Fortunately there were fans available. Pictures of home were accurate. Could use a baking dish or two and a shower curtain. But those are my only suggestions. Thank you Olivier!

Excellent location in Uzès . A very clean and well appointed apartment and tastefully decorated.
The owner really looked after us and met us outside the city wall, advised on free parking and then escorted us to the apartment.
The bathroom is up a spiral staircase . And a lovely bonus is the rooftop courtyard, private and welcoming.

Artists Apartment : Highly recommended
I've just spent a wonderful ten Spring days in the Artists Apartment. Exactly what I was looking for. In the centre of Uzes, it has the market, shops, galleries, Mediaeval town on the doorstep, secure parking (recommended) a stroll away, beautiful longer walks out into the immediate countryside if you want them and, beyond that, all the region has to offer.
It's on two levels and on the fourth floor which involves stairs but this (importantly) guarantees peace and quiet. The town can feel busy and the apartment is a very pleasant space to withdraw into ---- with that roof terrace in the back of the building providing a place away from it all to sit, relax, enjoy the sunshine.
It's well cared for, simply and nicely decorated (original paintings), with a good working kitchen and a generous amount of room to spread out into. Oliver is a friendly and helpful host without being in any sense intrusive, easily available at all times and happy to provide suggestions and guidance.
I recommend this apartment very highly and have already told friends about it.

Perfect location, friendly owner, great stay!
The rooftop terrace sold us! It was so nice to sit in the sun with wine and bread and the privacy with the views is just ideal. We stayed for a week in April, and other than a few rainy days, everything was exactly as we expected and better. The artist apartment was clean, simple, and had everything we needed for cooking and lounging. We stayed with our 5 month old infant, and had a great stay. We moved to the upstairs bedroom after the first night, as the washroom is on the 2nd level and the stairs are quite noisy to navigate at night. Oliver was a wonderful host and we highly recommend his properties as we very much enjoyed our first time to Uzes. We hope to come back!

Pleasant, charming apartment in ideal location
The Matisse property was perfect for what the two of us wanted from an apartment in this gorgeous French town. It was just as described in the listing and was clean, well-maintained, and ideally located off the main (and very pretty) square. It had all the facilities we needed to enjoy our two-week stay. Oliver, the owner, provided excellent customer service and many useful tips to enhance our enjoyment of the whole area and was a pleasure to deal with. We loved the location, near shops, restaurants, and the Sat. and Wed. markets. Adding to the character of the loft bedroom is the charming and minor challenge of avoiding bumping one's head on
the beautiful ancient beams, but one easily gets used to that. This property is to be highly recommended to anyone wanting a comfortable and perfectly situated residence in which to to soak up the atmosphere of this lovely town, to which we hope to return someday.

When the Artist's Apartment wasn't available Oliver was kind enough to put me in the Sculptors Apartment which was perfect for me. It was spacious and quiet and just minutes walk from Place aux Herbes and other attractions and facilities in Uzes. Oliver organized drawing classes for me with the local residents and made sure I was equipped with all I needed. I didn't have a car so having the bus stop just around the corner was a bonus. Oliver has a detailed description of all the attractions and places around the area including recommendations of the best restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. I couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend this property to others planning to visit and stay in Uzes. I will definitely return. I would also recommend you check out Oliver's website - he is an amazing painter. Thank you Oliver.

A really unique and charming experience
This little apartment in the centre of Uzes was a real charmer. It is comfortable and ideally placed to enjoy the village/market atmosphere of this pretty historic town, the region and french country life style. Markets, shops and restaurants all at your doorstep. The owner Bevan is very helpful and provides excellent local knowledge and experience to enhance your stay. A great place!!

Perfect in every way
We loved our stay in this apartment. Every detail small and large has been taken care of, ensuring a comfortable yet exotic home-from-home feeling. During our two weeks in this delightful and historic, sympathetically-renovated large duplex, we could choose to open the window on the west side to the murmurings of local chatter on the tiny street below, or on the east side, open the kitchen window or climb upstairs to the rooftop terrace, second bedroom and large bathroom with washing machine, where one had only silence and the spectacular views over medieval rooftops, accented by the Ducal palace tower and flag. The width of the apartment was about 17 metres ensuring an airy and cool lower floor in the extreme heat of June/July. We spent many afternoon hours sunbathing, reading, drinking rose and then dining on the terrace in complete privacy. Lots of useful reading material and tourist infomation.
One wanted for nothing. Excellent wifi, free worldwide phone calls (really!) French tv, well-equipped full American kitchen with pantry basics, laundry facilities. And if you wanted you could have a bath in full sunshine decadently mid-afternoon as the sun poured through the skylights onto the bath/shower.
Our position in this friendly and bustling little town could not have been better. 50 steps down to the street, hairdressers, wine shop, clothes shops, butcher, fabulous gift shop owned by Marie France, Nougatine pastry/boulangerie/tea rooms all within a few short steps of the front door on this pedestian-only street. The famous Place aux Herbes is at one end, with its many markets, live music gently wafting some evenings, and cafes, brasseries, restaurants abound. We felt no real need to patronise restaurants as all the food we loved could be sourced and cooked/eaten in our delightful apartment.
Oliver was an attentive yet non-intrusive host. Everything was bright and clean. Double bedroom below, twin beds upstairs.
Because of the spiral staircase to the bathroom above, it would not be suitable for anyone with leg or hip issues (not ours though).
Every adjective in this review is deserved. We can't wait to return.

Wonderful Uzes
Being in the middle of Uzes for a two week holiday was just marvellous. We liked the bustle of the place and the possibility of an evening stroll around the streets. Undoubtedly, the terrace was the thing we enjoyed the most about the apartment. We found it peaceful enough to sit and read or watch the changing colours of the Duché d'Uzès in the sunsets. We had most of our meals out there too. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom was fine: we thought the apartment was perfect for our holiday. We felt very comfortable here - what more can you say?
Near Uzès there are some places of beauty and interest too. We went to Les Concluses, Pont du Gard, and other places close to Uzès. We also visited Arles, Montpellier, Villeneuve-les-Avignon and Orange - all about an hour's drive away and worth visiting.
All things considered, this is a great destination - a lovely apartment and a fine town. We would both recommend it wholeheartedly.

Lovely apartment!
My Husband and I spent a great week in this apartment. It was exactly as described. We found it to be clean, airy and fully equipped. Spacious enough for two or four people. The clothes washing machine was a bonus. Oliver was very helpful with information about parking, shops, etc.The location was perfect in Uzes, with the fantastic Saturday market right outside your door and a choice of cafes just a stroll away. There was no better way to end our day than with a glass of wine, gazing at the view from the terrace. I would recommend this apartment to people who wish to explore Uzes and the surrounding areas.

A great place to enjoy the delights of Uzes
We were delighted with the apartment, which was much more spacious than we've had elsewhere. Its central location means that you only have to step out of the door to be in the heart of things and yet its secluded roof terrace overlooks the rooftops enabling you to enjoy peace and quiet too.
We found it to be clean and very well equipped, the decor simple and the artwork inspiring. Yes, there are lots of stairs, but what else do you expect from a medieval building. So what if you can't stand up to shower - relax and have a bath!
Teenager's View
I'm 13, I loved this apartment, the room I had had 2 beds so my friend was able to stay over for a night! It was fab! My family and I also went canoeing and I recommend Kayak Vert, if you want more info, if you stay in this flat, look at the visitors book and the long article is mine. We spent a long and happy day at the river just next to Kayak Vert, the river is called Gardon, I jumped off rocks and there was beautiful scenery all around. I recommend the Uzes Market for shopping, (especially teenage girls as I am) and the ice cream parlour, less than a minute away from this flat. The ice cream place is called Passion Vanille and you can't get any better ice cream! Amazing! The flat was clean and tidy and we loved the paintings, I messed up my bedroom quickly but thats what us teenagers are like. Well, it was a really good holiday and thats all I can say. I really recommend it to teenagers and their families. No moans and groans here! :D

I loved this place!
I am a regular traveller in Europe and I have to strongly disagree with the negative review this property received. It is exactly as described, clean, spacious (for a European property) with a very well equiped kitchen which is great if you want to try something from the excellent butcher downstairs. Yes, you have to climb some stairs, but you climb them up to a fantastic view of a gorgeous town and you are right in the middle of it!! I will recommend this property to my family and friends.

a great holiday
We stayed a week in the apartment and found it as described and very well cared for. We were welcomed warmly by the managing agent who explained how everything worked and advised us on parking and restaurants. We particularly liked the clean, unfussy design of the interior, with its colourful paintings, mostly by the owners, who it turns out are quite well known artists. The kitchen has everything one would expect for a short stay, and in addition a lovely view from the window. In fact all the windows at the back of the building look out over the roof tops to the medieval castle. The bedrooms were very relaxing and the beds comfortable. Considering the location in the towen centre it was remarkable quiet. The sunny roof terrace which is the size of many a living room is even better than it looks in the picture as the view extends on two sides. Its space seems to spread into the apartment, thanks to a pair of sliding patio doors. The only slight snag is that the bathroom has been constructed under the roof which allows sufficient space for whatever you need to do, ironing etc, but prevents the fitting of a normal shower over the bath. We had baths instead or if in a hurry used the hand helld shower. No problem with that. It was wonderful to be right in the heart of this gorgeous small town. We liked a little restaurant called 'Les Femmes de la Méditerranée. A great holiday.

Not pleasant experience
This property was inferior. One had to kneel in the bathtub in order to use the hand held shower attachment because the wall bracket was broken. The window blinds were dirty. The Wifi didn't work. There was only one small fan for two floors. Many flights up to a big disappointment. Lots of noise because of the location. We left after one night. An expensive experience.
