I love the location and the house structure was great

Dolphin watch was an amazing place for us to enjoy the wildlife at Edisto. Each day we saw 20 or more dolphins and we were also blessed to see several horseshoe crabs. The shells are plentiful and the waves are calm so all can enjoy the water without issue. We highly recommend Dolphin Watch!

Edisto nevers disappoints! We stayed in Dolphin Watch A this past week and had a wonderful time. Walking out the back door to the beach is great! The accommodations were very nice for our family group of 12.

Excellent location! It's on the bay side, so the ocean waves are nice and calm. BEAUTIFUL view! We saw dolphins each day we were there. The kitchen was fully stocked including lots of pots and pans and service for 14 or 15 people. There were several games available to play. A chest of beach toys were available outside for the children.

Declaimer: Our family wanted to give this property 3.8 stars but we can’t use decimals in our ratings, so please take note of that before reading the rest of the review.
Our group of 13 had a wonderful beach vacation. This waterfront property is perfect for little kids who may have limited time on the beach before needing a nap or snack. We were able to spend a couple hours out in the waves before returning back for naps and home cooked meals. This house is wonderful for large parties of 10-12. There’s plenty of plates and utensils, kitchen items (a kitchen aid, in fact, and two coffee makers) and seating downstairs under the home for some simple, quiet outdoor time. The house could use a little work with fit and finish (and could have used a deeper clean before our visit), but it was still a great time regardless of the imperfections.

We had a great weekend staying at Dolphin Watch! House was big enough for a family get together and the proximity to the beach was great.

The home's location is what salvaged our family trip to Dolphin Watch. The home itself was fairly clean, but the home is in desperate need of updates. The property manager was great; lots of communication and very helpful when we had questions. The home was clean; but the condition of the furniture and overall home was not comfortable or inviting. The owner could easily invest in some upgrades and take the time to update a few basic pieces and this home would be a welcoming place to stay- particularly given it's beautiful location.
This is not what we expect when we stay at Vacasa properties and the cheapness and condition of the furnishings left us very disappointed.

Furniture in the main room was worn out, it appeared to come from Goodwill. There was no pantry in the kitchen and the washer and dryer were also in the kitchen. There was no place to put your dry goods and with the washer and dryer in the kitchen, it was extremely cluttered and uncomfortable. The drains in the bathrooms, seemed to be clogged and drained very slowly.

We absolutely loved staying here! The house was very roomy, clean, and accessible to the beach. Although it was a bit chilly for sunbathing, we loved being able to easily go to the beach for bocce and horseshoes. The kitchen had everything we needed, the whole house was very clean, and we had plenty of room to hang out and also some alone quiet time if needed. We loved the huge table for playing board and card games and for eating together. We will most definitely stay here next time! We also enjoyed being at the end of the island. Looking out to the ocean and seeing the other ocean and the inlet was beautiful! 5 star, would highly recommend it!

Great house with comfy beds & plenty of space for 12 with stunning sunset views & just steps to the beach. Loved the sinks in 2 bedrooms, worked so well with so many people, was like having extra bathrooms.

The neighborhood was nice, but the house is on pillars so it shakes the whole time you are there because its windy near the ocean. The beach is not nice at all. Its more dirt than sand, and the walls are super thin so you can hear the dad next door yelling at his kids the whole time. The door on the shower in the master was broke and there was a "do not use" post it on the door.
The view out the back window was gorgeous at sunset. There is only one restaurant in town and it is PACKED to getting carry out took about 90 minutes longer than they told us it would

The number of bedrooms and baths although most unused by us and the distance to the ocean were the finer points to this rental propriety.

Plenty of room for our family of 8 adults. Had the items we needed to cook our own meals. Enjoyed walking the beach and seeing the Dolphins. Botany Bay beach was very interesting.

Loved the sunset views but the home is in desperate need of refurbishing. Probably not a major problem if you come during good weather and can be outside the majority of the time. Also the deck is quite small so don’t expect to have a large group outside on it.

This is a large waterfront home with beautiful views of the sound. It is NOT an oceanfront home with the sound of crashing waves right outside. If you like Edisto beaches for the surf and have kids who want to boogie board, this is not the house for you. Also, for the price paid this home needs some work. There were several dangerous screws on the boardwalk, holes in the drywall, broken fridge and trashcan parts, and rusty hooks, drains that didn't work, and shower doors that would not close in the bathrooms. The carpets and floors were dirty throughout when we arrived. There also were no beach chairs. I emailed Vacasa 2 days before our visit to ask about this, and no one responded. Finally, workers arrived to perform work at the property before our 10am check out time on the last day. Considering that check in is at 4 (and not a minute earlier) and check out is at 10, we should not have felt rushed in our departure. The beds were comfortable but the living space felt cramped for our large group.

Location is wonderful. Close enough to Charleston for a fun day trip but far enough away for a relaxing time at the beach. We had enough bedrooms for our family of 10. Big kitchen and dining area with plenty of seating! The house is a bit old and could use some TLC. The carpets are in need of a deep clean or being replaced. Wonderful deck with beautiful views.

The location is perfect if you have kids. The water is calm and shallow compared to the rest of Edisto Beach. The house definitely needs some repairs and furniture is way too big for the living and dining room. The mattresses are like sleeping on concrete. My son chose to sleep on the couch because his bed was so hard. We had to have maintenance out several times do to leaking windows and doors, sinks and tubs not draining and the refrigerator could not handle (cool) the amount of food that had. The local office and maintenance people were amazing and responded quickly, the after hours number not so helpful. Overall a nice house but bring coolers with plenty of ice and if you can a mattress topper.

We’ve never stayed on the sound side but it was perfect!
The house was good sized with a well stocked kitchen and clean. There’s some wear and tear items that could be fixed up (downstairs bathroom shower) but overall we enjoyed everything and would definitely go back.

Perfect location for beautiful sunsets and for all activities during my Son's wedding weekend!!! Beach was easily accessed, as well as restaurants, and groceries. New mattresses slept perfect! Plenty of parking for 3 cars! Unit-A has everything you could possibly need for your stay there! Dog friendly and plenty of room for all of us!! Thank you for sharing your home!

Beach is at mouth of Edisto river so no worries about strong undertow for children. Nice views.

We really enjoyed watching the dolphins! Loved the quiet beach. The house was roomy, great for a big group. We had 8 or 9 all week and were definitely comfortable. Edisto Beach is a great quiet town, friendly. We saw lots of deer too! We will be back. :)

I stayed here with some extended family and the location (edge of ocean and marshes in a low-key, incredibly beautiful beach area) as well as pet-friendly nature of the property made it a great stay for us. That said, the house itself was 'okay.' It was service-able but the carpets seemed grimey and the bedding was meh (at least in my room). NO BEACH TOWELS OR UMBRELLAS ARE PROVIDED so pack accordingly (I saw 'towels' in the amenities and incorrectly assumed this extended to beach towels so we had to go purchase those). In short, there is no real beach gear at all except for a few plastic chairs which I consider an oversight for a house on the beach at this pricepoint. The kitchen was reasonably stocked and the layout was good. If the property had some refreshing, it would be a five-star.

Overall, we loved layout of the property and the location.
There are several issues with cleanliness to include mold in bathtubs and shower curtains, stained bathtubs, stains on carpet, pillows and sofas.
Despite the issues regarding cleanliness, we loved the location. The views were spectacular and access to the beach and fishing were perfect for our family. A few upgrades would make this a perfect vacation home and we would love to return.

Our grandchildren enjoyed themselves due to the easy access to the beach. They could quickly run in for lunch and a snack and resume activities of playing in the sand. We were able to put up our tents on the beach easily which wasn't that far to transport them.

Checkin and out was very easy. The house had some areas that were in need of repair. However, we did have a storm while there and the house shifted with the strong winds.

We loved the island of Edisto - quiet, family friendly, dog friendly and easy to get everywhere. The food at many restaurants was great. The Briney Swine, E&O, Pressleys, SeaCow and One4 Coffee were all delicious and the service was amazing!
This house is a few updates and cleaning away from a 5/6 star home. It is in a fantastic location, it had a lot of room and bathrooms and most bathrooms were recently updated. The bedrooms had too much stuff and the floors and carpet need to be cleaned better. I’d recommend removing all the carpet from downstairs. There is also too much stuff in every room of the house…. Just made it feel cluttered and again not clean.
This is a great place to see dolphins, the walks on the beach were fantastic!!
Also, the Wyndham allows you to buy a daily membership to their pools and amenities which was perfect for us. So no worries about getting a house with a pool!

Thanksgiving Reunion
The view was amazing. The location was perfect to see the sunsets and to view dolphins swimming by. The house was accurate in its description about the rooms and location.
There were a few minor hiccups in the house but nothing big enough to spoil our trip.

Off season trip
The view here is FANTASTIC. Beautiful sunsets every night we were there. I'd totally visit again. All of the bedrooms are well furnished. Two of the bedrooms are down stairs (one of them has a view of the water and attached bath), four bedrooms upstairs (one of them has a view of the water and attached bath) and one of them might have a view if you strain your neck out the window. Upstairs is carpeted, and it could use a good cleaning. The downstairs is well furnished, sat eight for dinner several times. The counters, sink and faucet have been recently upgraded. There were only two wine glasses in the cabinets but a bunch of other glasses, and plenty of plates, bowls and silver. Appliances - washer and dryer are new, I've never used a flat range and that took some getting used to, the red toaster burns toast very quickly. There were even crock pots and blenders. The coffee maker was fine, but they don't have any coffee or filters (basket type), so get them in on the way. We had to go out for the supplies that are usually provided in a place like this. Fortunately there is a grocery on the island so you don't have to go far. Finally - this place is pet friendly and I really appreciate that (may be why the carpet upstairs needs a cleaning). But if you have a small curious dog please note that there is a mousetrap behind the washer. Fortunately it just scared my dog but, I am really shocked that they would have a mousetrap (like a snapping mouse trap) in a house with pets and not let you know it's there - we would have blocked him out out that space.

Beautiful place for our family reunion
My family had a wonderful time at Dolphin Watch. We saw dolphins almost every day and my brother saw a manatee. The house was great. An elevator would have been nice for a couple of us with difficulty climbing steps. A new set of baking sheets for the kitchen wouldn't hurt. We loved it!

Great location. House could have been better cleaned and properly supplied (only 2 dish towels for a week). Overall enjoyed the house and location. We saw many dolphins. I would stay there again.

It’s All About The View!
Great house and location. Our family had an awesome time! We loved watching for the dolphins each morning and afternoon. The hammock was very relaxing when wanting to enjoy a nap. Look forward to our next trip.

First Time at Dolphin Watch
We enjoyed our first visit to Edisto Island. The view from Dolphin Watch was spectacular; we saw dolphins every day. The house was well-equipped, although some improvements could be made (e.g., sink and tub did not drain well in the downstairs bedroom, the remote in the main bedroom downstairs did not work). Overall, however, we had a thoroughly relaxed visit and would recommend a family stay at Dolphin Watch.

Vacation Heaven
Everyone was impressed with the house and it's amenities. The beach although a walk ,was very peaceful. We got to see plenty of dolphins and even manatees.
