This is our second time staying here as we love this home. We've even had the "if it came up for sale and we had the money" talk. It is perfect for me, my husband and our fur baby. We love the front porch and that you can hear the waves crashing. This came in handy this trip as we were there for Tropical Storm Debby. While the power was out we were able to open up doors allowing the breeze to come thru while also latching the screen doors to keep our fur baby in. We used the outside table to eat and put together puzzles. And who doesn't love a swing?!?! The kitchen is pretty well stocked. I was unhappy with just one cooking pot but after reorganizing a couple of the bottom cabinets I was able to find another one. I will say the refrigerator needs to be replaced. It is missing a shelf in the main compartment and there is duct tape on the door shelfs to hold things in place. The bathrooms are nice and have great water pressure. We were surprised to have hot water since we were out of power for almost 24 hours. We do wish there was a TV in the master bedroom. We knew there wasn't from our last trip so we brought a small Ruko TV from home. On the subject of bedrooms they do not have good airflow. The center of the house was always nice and cool but the bedrooms are roasting! We put the 1 fan we could find in the doorway to help bring air in from the living room but it was still hot. We also love the area underneath the house along with the Weber grill that came in handy being we had no power and the island was pretty much closed. There is tables and chair down there along with another swing and a hammock. While this house does need some attention it is not enough to keep us away!!! We will be back to Sand Quarters!!!

Bedrooms are very small. The location was nice as it was very close to beach access.

We greatly enjoyed the close proximity to the beach. Home was spacious and well decorated with plenty of seating and lap blankets for relaxing. Enjoyed fully furnished kitchen! Easy walk to the beach!

Loved the location of this house, further down the beach, but on a very quite street.

The space under the house and the screened in porch are great! The house needs some attention (pullout couch needs new mattress, toilet and shower need attention). Easy walk to beautiful beach.

This place is comfortable & inviting. I love it here. Especially in the mornings with coffee on the porch listening to & watching, what appears to be the community rooster! Love seeing the deer walk through the yard.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay at Sand Quarters immensely. It’s located on a quiet side street with an easy walk to the beach. The house had everything we needed. The screened porch with the porch swing facing the ocean was our favorite feature. We will definitely stay there again.

The house is nice and cozy, close to the beach, parking underneath the house is great when it rains. Not being able to adjust the thermostat is an issue as it was quite cold. One small recommendation would be to stock it with some Tupperware with tops. We had no way of storing our leftovers.

House is in a great location. But could definitely use some updating. The washer smelled so bad of mildew, almost al the vents had rust All over them. Refrigerator and dishwasher could be replaced also, very old and outdated. Also the guest bathroom had a constant smell of sewer.

The grass wasn’t cut. One of the bedrooms stays warm. Doesn’t cool down and we were told that you were aware of that. Sofa bed is terrible need a new one. Trash can was full and didn’t get picked up til Wednesday the 6th. The downstairs area was filthy. We had to spend almost 2 hours cleaning it. The refrigerator took 2 days to get cool. The closeness to the beach was great. I really feel that I deserve some kind of a refund. Renters should know that only 5 people can stay comfortably with the sofa the way it is and the room that doesn’t cool. Way overpriced

The house is in a perfect location, right by the beach and the neighbors are all respectful. It does need some updates on the inside and a the appliances could use replacements. Other than a few small cosmetic issues the little house is great for a beach trip. We’ve stayed here multiple times now and it never disappoints.

Sand Quarters had its good qualities. It was in a nice location with close proximity to the beach, it had plenty of room, a good layout and all of the rooms had fresh sheets. The house, however, is in need of a deep cleaning and some renovations. The carpet in all the bedrooms was very dirty and stained, as were the couches, we had to cover them with a blanket to feel comfortable sitting on them. There was a lot of dirt and dust throughout the house. The dishwasher is rusted and pieces of metal are breaking off leaving very sharp rusted medal shards sticking out everywhere. Again, the house did have its good qualities, but the overall state of the house made the stay a bit uncomfortable.

Quiet, close to the beach, great porch for rocking or eating. Good parking underneath for 5! Cars.

We had a great vacation at Sand Quarters in Edisto Beach. The house is in a good location close to the water and was very clean upon arrival.
It was well stocked with dishes and all the necessities for our stay. We especially appreciated the already made beds with linens and towels. Checking in and out was a breeze.

Great beach house
Sand Quarters is a great Edisto shabby chic beach house. The Vacasa amenities were great, too (linens and towels, cleaning service). We found evrrything pretty clean. The kitchen was well stocked for family dinner.

Masters week getaway
The house is a great location and a great layout. The front porch is also a great addition. Only about a three minute walk to the beach! I feel like the owners could do a few things to improve the house… the screen door desperately needs replacing, the house needs pressure washing, the rocking chair on the screened in porch broke when we sat in it, dishwasher could be replaced, and the window sill in the kitchen was full of bugs. A little attention would go a long way! It’s a gem of a house and a great location. Attention to some details would really help! All in all, Edisto is a wonderful, laid back beach and we enjoyed our stay.

Great for a family trip
This was a GREAT LOCATION! I liked how cozy and shabby chic it was. The home was perfect for me, my wife and two toddlers. It was an easy walk for the children to the beach and the rooms were comfortable. I like how close the house is to everything.

Not Happy
Three friends in town for a wedding and found bed bugs in the one room the first morning after we checked in. Management company told us to seal off the room and that they could not relocate us since we had been exposed to bed bugs. The place can use some serious attention. There are exposed wires in the dishwasher, filthy garbage can bottom, carpet is gross, ceiling fan hanging by exposed wires, mattresses in purple room look to be 20 years old. Would not stay again and no one was brought onsite about the bug situation. According to the calendar people were behind us and I guarantee nothing has been done! Investigate to make sure people are leaving and having BED BUGS follow them HOME!!!!!

Nice location and easy walk to the beach
The positives here are the location is almost center of the island (not too far to the only grocery store on the island (about 2 miles), and not a difficult walk to the beach (not more than 4 or 5 minutes). The AC and the internet work well in the house. The bed in the Master was comfortable. The bathrooms have been updated. There is only one TV in the house (living room). This home has everything that you need but some of the rooms still need a little updating. We enjoyed our stay.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this house; the first time was 10 years ago. At that time, we could tell that the house needed some work. Very little has been done to this house to keep it in good repair which prompted this review. First off, the kitchen is about 30 years out of date. All of the appliances have rust on them and need to be replaced. The dishwasher racks have rust all over them; I was actually trying to remember when I had a tetanus shot when loading the dishwasher. There is rust inside the door of the microwave, rust on the refrigerator and rust on the bottom of the oven. The 2-green sofa/loveseat needed replacing 10 years ago but yet they are still in the house. You practically sink to the floor when you sit on them. There is water damage in the ceiling around some of the AC vents. None of the outside light switches are in working order. The indoor/outdoor carpet on the front deck is degraded. All the exterior doors need replacing; locking the doors is useless. When they are locked you and push on them and see them open. It is very obvious that the owner’s do not care that this house is in great need of repairs nor do they care that the people that pay a lot of money to rent this house don’t have any comfortable seating. The general cleaning of the house was okay but it needs a deep cleaning. I opened the kitchen window and saw a pile of dead bugs that had been there for years. It is really a shame that this house is left in this condition because it is a really cool house. On the plus side it is very dog friendly. There is an outside kennel if you need it and a great dog lead that provides lots of room for your dog. Property Mgmt was good. We had one issue that we had to work with them on, they were responsive and got it taken care of within a reasonable manner. There will not be a 3rd time for us in renting this house unless there are some drastic changes/repairs done to it

This was our first experience with renting a house for vacation. I guess our expectations were a little higher than what they should have been. The house is very close to the beach. Maybe a 2 minute walk. Atwood representatives were very easy to deal with when I called. The outside appearance is a very nice home. The inside of the house needs a really good deep cleaning. The refrigerator handle was noticeably dirty with greasy hand prints. Cupboard doors had splash marks of food/drink on the outside. During this critical time (COVID-19) I would think that cleanliness would be top priority. I wiped everything with Clorox wipes before family touched anything. Because of this we opted not to use any of the dishes, cups, silverware unless we pre-washed them. The bathroom tub drain was clogged when we arrived. The mattress in the master bedroom has outlived it’s recommended use. I would not recommend this particular property based solely on its cleanliness.

Awesome location and great little beach house!
We made a last minute decision to do a getaway on Edisto. Sand Quarters was the perfect place for our family. The location is great. A very short walk to the beach! It's in a quiet area and has a nice yard. We loved sitting on the screened porch with our kids and our dog. It's a great beach house!

House is a short walk to the beach but that walk includes crossing a street that has no crosswalk or stop signs. We were there in October and there was little traffic but I could foresee this being a problem during peak season.
The house is designed with lots of common areas to enjoy quality family time. I loved the front porch, back deck and the downstairs patio are with swings, grills. However, 2 of the bedrooms are very small and the beds are the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. The mattresses were cheap and the box springs bounced and squeaked every time we turned. In addition, the pull out sofa had lots of broken springs and was unusable for sleeping. Atwood company was professional and accomodated us as best they could - they sent someone right away to provide us with a blow up mattress and the gentleman oiled the joints on the bed (which helped the squaking a little).
THe house itself doesn't seem that sturdy either as we felt vibrations when the washing machine and dryer in the kitchen were running (beds and floor softly vibrated). The couches are worn along with the dishwasher. the kitchen was well stocked but lots of old plates and even some broken my mom stated, this is a nice, clean home but the owener needs to invest some money in upgrades and repairs. We enjoyed our stay and had fun, nonetheless.
