About this house rental
Gray Goose offers more than its beautiful, expansive views and three decks to enjoy them: three bedrooms (two kings and a queen), each with an en-suite bath, fully stocked kitchen, gas fireplace, great WIFI, flat screen TVs, hot tub, loft, washer and dryer, games, puzzles, indoor and outdoor covered dining, and more.
As you step onto the covered deck, you'll see the first of the 180 degree views of the mountains, stretching from Rumbling Bald to Chimney Rock. The first floor features a comfortable living room with gas fireplace; dining room, seating 8; kitchen island, seating three; and well-stocked kitchen that includes granite counters, a coffee maker, blender, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator with water and ice on the door, plenty of mugs, dishes, silverware, pots and pans. We have stocked the kitchen as we would our own homes. A hallway leads from the kitchen to the laundry room, coat closet, and large master king bedroom with its own large bathroom, accessible from the hall and bedroom, and featuring several granite counters and a tub/shower.
The upstairs includes a large loft with a double bed futon, a second master king bedroom with bath, again featuring granite counters, and a smaller queen bedroom with its en-suite bathroom with granite counters. All bedrooms include large closets, and all bathrooms feature custom made mirrors, cabinets, and shelving.
Your dog is welcome to enjoy Gray Goose with your family. We have enclosed the back deck with a large swinging gate, so you can keep your pet from chasing the many deer, rabbits, and other woodland neighbors, including a neighborhood bobcat, who traverse the yard below.
For your information, we have a security camera that records the front steps and front door. We leave this on between rentals. Once we see that a guest has used the given passcode to access the cabin, we will disarm the camera for the duration of the stay.
We keep the inflatable kayaks, floats, and inner tubes in the partially finished basement. There is a ping pong table down there for rainy days as well as a game table for puzzles.

The cabin was beautiful and comfortable, with plenty of space for 3 friends and I. We enjoyed sitting out on the back deck, the hot tub in the evenings, and the swimming hole near the entrance to the community. Getting in and out of the community was very straightforward. I would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful log home on top of a mountain the lake and swimming beach is further from the cabin than it looks in the picture I would definitely love to stay there again

This was a perfect cabin for our vacation! It had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the kitchen the most! It’s super spacious and for us lovers of food. The deck was a very, very close second. There was nothing sweeter than putting the kiddos down for bed and sipping a glass of wine in the hot tub while watching the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. And the kiddos favorite part was the beach and all of the provided beach equipment in the basement. This was the perfect cabin and we hope to be back soon! 10 out of 10!

Overall we enjoyed our stay. There was a mix up on host end when we were staying but as soon as I reached out for the information we needed for check in, they took care of it right away. However, since they weren't expecting us, the property hadn't been properly cleaned. On the up side, the cabin was awesome. The views were great and our family really enjoyed all the amenities and beauty of the surrounding area! Great place to visit!

The cabin is beautiful! Perfect size and space for gathering as well as privacy. Lovely views of the mountains. The lake and Broad River in the neighborhood were an easy walk and great mountain experience. 15 minute drive to Chimney Rock State Park. Owners are easy to communicate with. We will be back!

This cabin was so beautiful pictures didn’t do it justice. Very large kitchen and eating area. Fireplace and hot tub were amazing. Everything we needed for a secluded mountain weekend with girls.

The property was wonderful!. The house was cozy, and the kitchen was well stocked. The fireplace kept the entire house warm. The hot tub was amazing. My kids loved the nature walk at the front of the neighborhood. Great location, easy access to everything. we will be back. Communication was great between Jennifer and Deborah.

We decided to do a family trip for Christmas this year, but planned it to be after the holiday, so choose western Carolina, to take in the Ashville area. The cabin we stayed at had a great location, close to Lake Lure and was well kept up with a great view of the surrounding valley and mountains. We definitely enjoyed the peace and quiet and took in some of the local food and attractions every day. We recommend the cabin for anyone looking to get away from normal life for a while.

Gray Goose is a lovely home with amazing views. Our family spent Christmas here, and it was overall a great experience. The listing gave the impression that there was a river directly behind the property, which was not the case. We also had concerns as the listing stated that the cameras on the porch would be turned off upon entry to the property. This was not the case, and it truly felt like the property owners could watch us any time they wanted. It was quite obvious when the cameras turned on, and this made our guests feel uncomfortable. Overall, a lovely place, but we will not return, as we felt our privacy was invaded.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving stay at Gray Goose. The kitchen was well-equipped for everything we needed to cook a big meal, and we all loved the hot tub. We’re hoping to come back in warm weather when we can enjoy the lake and swimming hole!
Management was friendly and communicative, too. Thanks for everything!

Loved Grey Goose house and the view. Unfortunately it was extremely cold but we stayed nice and toasty inside with the fireplace and heat. Thanks to Deborah for reaching out and making it the whole experience easy!

The property is a wonderful 3-bed 3-bath as advertised. We arrived after 5PM which caused us problems getting access to the property thru the security gate. Eventually we got in. There are beautiful mountain views and zero lake views ... and the lake is a long walk away so prepare to drive if you want to spend time at the lake. The area is also wonderful ... but Wifi and cell service is patchy so be prepared for patchy. Undoubtedly a great place.

Great stay at Gray Goose! Neighborhood had accès to river for floating and fishing and beach access at small lake. Cabin had everything you need in the kitchen, plenty of linens, family games, and perfect sunset views over the mountains. ~15-20min ride to chimney rock park/chimney rock village. Easy check in and wonderful communication throughout the week.

Property was as described and the morning views were spectacular. The house didn't lack anything and had what you would need.

Grey Goose is in an ideal location. Beautiful views, out of the way, yet easy to get to. Being in a private community near a smaller lake means that you can walk down the hill to the beach or the swimming hole (It's a haul, but doable) and swim without the crowds and boats of Lake Lure. But you could always drive over to the main lake. The beds were comfortable, the sheets were top-notch, and the cabin was great for families. The wrap-around deck offered three sides for hanging out, depending on whether you want a roof over you, the sun on you or a table at which to work. And the internet is very fast and reliable, if you have to get work or if you want to stream content.

Our family of 4 adults (plus a small dog) had a great time at this cabin. We had great weather all week and went to the private Riverbend community lake almost every day. Having the kayaks and floats provided by the owners was great! We just had to transport them down to the lake and back each day. The cabin was spacious and we had plenty of room. The views to the west from the large deck were amazing. And the hot tub on the deck was awesome! Ping pong in the basement each day was alot of fun also. The large Ingles grocery store was just a few miles away and they had everything you could ever need. We spent a few hours in Chimney Rock village one day and we spent a whole day hiking at Dupont State Forest and walking around Hendersonville. Moe's BBQ in Hendersonville was delicious! We did not try any of the local restaurants in Lake Lure or Chimney Rock.

Gray Goose was just as advertised. The home was clean and had everything we needed to cook with. The host was very responsive and even let us check in early and check out earlier.
We spent a lot of time on the deck. The view is amazing. It was a wonderful and relaxing weekend.

We were six adults celebrating 3 birthdays and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay more. The house is only one of three on the street so it’s very quiet. My dog loved lounging on the expansive deck and walking the area. Hot tub was clean and perfect (as was the home). Everything we needed was available to cook meals and there was plenty of seating inside and out. We definitely will be back!

The cabin is in such a gorgeous location, secluded, yet easily accessible. Daily walks around are a must! Incredible views from the hot tub, fully stocked kitchen and very comfortable beds. We'll definitely be returning!

We live at the beach and wanted a cozy trip to the mountains to kick off Christmas week. We had the best trip exploring the surrounding area, spending time in the nearby towns, climbing mountains, and taking in all of the amazing views.
Deborah was so kind and welcoming. She really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Our only wish was that we had planned a longer visit.
We can’t wait to visit this special place again soon ❤️

My husband and I, and our best friends rented this house last minute weekend getaway before the busy holiday season! The pictures do not do this place justice. The house was so clean and spacious, and every bedroom having an attached bathroom was a huge plus! The large deck made the best spot for morning coffee and evening grilling. The hot tub was perfect. Everything you need is within 10 minutes of the property. We had some miscommunication with the property owner at check in, but she was so sweet and helpful to make sure we got everything figured out. We are already planning a trip to come next year.

We had a very nice stay at Gray Goose. Cabin was very clean and well supplied. Nice views off the very large balcony. Each bedroom was nicely sized and had its own private bath. Large kitchen and good size dining table inside and out worked well. Evening hot tub soaks were great after a day of hiking. Dog accommodations worked out well also. We hope to come again next year.

Relaxing and secluded but close to all the fun!
Our stay at Grey Goose was wonderful. The cabin was clean, full of amenity, and spacious. The kitchen was very well appointed and the view was unbeatable. The Sunsets could not be beat!
The hot tub was clean, working, and well maintained, and the covered decks were perfect - even in the rain. The home itself felt very secluded and relaxing, but there was plenty to do in the neighborhood, including a beach/small lake (for fishing, swimming, kayaking), waterfall, adventures on the river, and second swimming hole. Owners provided floats and kayaks for guests to use, and my boys (age 7-15) were worn out with all the things to do! We were a few short minutes from town, grocery, and restaurants, and enjoyed many local sites. We were about an hour away from Asheville, and were able to make a great day trip.
The owners were kind, communicative, and responsive - in addition to making great local recommendations. We will definitely return to Grey Goose!!

Lake Lure retreat
We spent a week in this beautiful Lake Lure cabin. It was my husband and me, our 2 daughters, ages 28 and 25, and 2 dogs. We relaxed on the deck, saw lovely sunsets from the hot tub, and enjoyed the lake. We were part of a family reunion with everyone else staying at Rumbling Bald. This cabin was close enough and far enough away to participate in family activities, but we loved coming home to our peaceful retreat.

Perfect for our family
The house is set up perfectly for a family with older children. Love how each bedroom has an en-suite. Nice and spacious rooms. The house is a bit dark and we wished the hot tub was warmer, but otherwise loved our stay!

Mountain Home Delight
Needed a roomy place to stay while working and competing in a horse competition at nearby Tryon Equestrian Center. Grey Goose mountain cabin-home worked-out perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms, baths, large kitchen and dining, wrap-around deck complete with hot tub to enjoy the NC mountain views.
Communication before and after the use of the home was outstanding and made the check-in, check-out a breeze. This mountain home made the challenging and stressful horse competition less so. Thank you.

Lovely Place
We loved this place and the stay. We were nervous at first as the process was different than our other VRBO stays including they send a seven page lease to sign and require a $500 deposit via Venmo outside the VRBO process. While this was uncomfortable, the process went smooth and they did return the deposit after the stay. Overall, the neighborhood was amazing with river running through it with entry and exit point so I was able to take my daughters down some rapids. Great value and lovely home. We reached out to the owner a couple times and each time she was quick to respond and quite helpful.

Great cabin for family get away at Thanksgiving
This cabin was awesome location and the views of the mountains from the wrap around deck were beautiful! We had 3 families stay here for Thanksgiving and it was perfect. We were able to cook everything in the fully stocked kitchen. Riverbend is a nice community and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the lake!
