My husband and I live in ATL and needed a getaway. This was the perfect little spot, right in the heart of Tybee! We could walk to everywhere we wanted to be. Right next to the water with everything we needed for a great price. Loved it!

The location was great! Within walking distance (steps) of both the beach and eateries/bars. Quiet and cozy. Exactly what we needed.

The room was so small that you could barely turn around in it and the overall place was run down with junk placed all around it. There wasnt a mirror or sink in the very tiny very unevened floor bathroom so.i used the kitchen sink to shave and when i did the smell of sewage was so strong that i had to open the door and turn on the exhaust fan. I opened the cabinet below the sink and the sewage smell was so bad that i had to leave the room. This smell was continuous during our stay. We got up around 7am the last 3 days of our 6 day stay not because we wsnted to but because someone was doing carpentry work below us in what appeared to be a ice cream shop and the power tools were deafening. We were right on the strip so the drunks at the bars gave us no peace at night. But what really sealed it for me and my wife is that we were requested to strip our bed of all linen before we left and it was then that we realized that there were about 4 large piss stains on the matress that we had been sleeping on for the past 5 nights. I will NEVER stay there again or sugest that any of my friends do.

If this review was based solely on customer service and location I would give Carbo House a 5 star review. They were quick to respond when I had questions and you can’t get much closer to Tybee Island Pier and beach. We loved being about to walk down to the beach in a matter of minutes. There were just a few things that added up to make this not the most ideal stay I’ve had. For cost I could overlook the slightly shabbier look to the room than is picture and the crooked floors, but it felt like they skimped on a few aspects that could have elevated the entire stay. While the bathroom soaps were new, the kitchen soap, coffee products and seasonings offered were all clearly used and unclean. Personally I prefer products in hotels to be single use for sanitary reasons. Also the bed was not comfortable. It offered no support and we found ourselves waking up sore everyday. Also I wish they would have mentioned in the description that due to the building being old there is absolutely no soundproofing. Construction was going on the entire time we were there and the couple of times we tried to nap during the day it was super loud. Honestly I wouldn’t stay here again but the customer service was great and location was awesome for the price.

Air worked great.the kitchen worked well.the shower didn't have enough water power, and the bathroom had no sink to wash hands you had to do that in the kitchen sink

Okay so let me say we are not extremely picky but this place wasn’t up to our standards.
Pros very convenient and you can walk to the beach and restaurants. You can park in the lot instead of paying for overpriced parking at the beach.
Cons
It was very clean for the amount of fees I paid.
The fridge smelled like fish and under the bed had not been cleaned
They didn’t provide a full roll of toilet paper to start us with and no paper towels. They should have a scrubbing pad for dishes if they expect them to be washed.
Parking was an issue because the guest parking was blocked by old truck and junk.
The wi-fi password wasn’t provided and I had to call and get it.
This is in a ruin down historical building which we loved but it need to be cleaned up.
They were working on an apartment under us every day sanding for hours. I talked to the guy he was really nice but geez. We were on vacation and the residents are aware it’s rented out.
One evening walking back from the pier we sat down on the front porch. We had been there a couple of minutes tops. A lady came out of no where and asked if we were staying there? I should not have answered her because I was alone with my son. I said yes. Then I asked do you live here? She said she was the manager or something. She said people sit of the porch that don’t live there. It was rude.
Also on unsavory characters live there.
Maybe okay for a couple but not a mom and child.
It was not very peaceful.

It was right by the city where there’s lots of gift shops and places to eat. Not to mention less than 3 minute walk to the beach! Killer deal didn’t need to drive anywhere

Charming single room perfect for solo traveler, or couple. Super close to the beach. Clean, quiet and comfortable!

The studio was clean which is important. The only cons are low water pressure in the shower. The shower drain was clogged as well. There were sufficient toiletries for our 2 night stay.

The room was very clean, & it was decorated really cute. Its in a perfect location, right on Tybrisa near the shops, restaurants, & the beach. The kitchenette had most dishes & cookware one would need to cook, minus a skillet. The neighbors were very friendly & helpful. My only issue was with the lack of anyone to bring necessities if they were needed. I ran out of toilet paper & had to go buy it bc they never responded to my 1st message saying it was low. The 2nd message, when I told them I was completely out, was answered & I was told someone would bring some. That never happened. No one came by the room ever to see if we needed towels, wash cloths, or anything else. There were several towels & wash cloths when we checked in, but we stayed a week. The room does have everything you would need for several days tho. As long as you don't need anything while you are there, it's a great place.

Location location location
The location was amazing right on a strip with lots of shops and bars and right by the beach. The room was cute looks a lot like the pictures minues the pipes on the ceiling but the building is very old and has a lean to it but was still nice considering the age. The bed was very comfortable but the room is just big enough for 2 people.

The space was clean and close to the beach.
It is small but comfortable.
The biggest issue is that there is a smoker in the next apartment and it comes into the room. And the walls are very thin and you can clearly hear all the conversation going on outside.

If you don't like cigarette smoke , don't stay here.one of the neighbors must smoke around the clock
1- cigarette smoke smell seemed to permiate into the room , especially the bathroom . We think the downstairs neighbor lives there and smokes all the time . This was a major turn off for my wife and me .
2- The bathroom (ish) , the toilet has a substantial tilt to the left as does the floor , presumably due to settling of the old house. (not a deal breaker though ) Water presure was pretty week so it took a while to rinse soap off . Again not a deal breaker .
There is no bathroom vanity and to their defense , no place to put one . That being said they could hang a mirror where you could pull up a chair so a lady could get ready . Tho only mirror in the place is about half concealed behind a lamp shade . The shower is a small fiberglass unit that squeaks at the floor while you are standing in it .
3-The property itself was very junky and cluttery. This house also serves as long term rentals and apartments so the porches and parking areas have acquired quite a bit of junk .
4- the ceiling fan ticked like a metronome which drove me crazy so I turned it off ,and it would be an easy fix .
-In conclusion, we weren't looking fo TajMaHal , we looked at the pictures and decided to roll the dice on getting a place for a couple of nights on the cheap . We rolled snake eyes , you get what you pay for . I wouldn't consider staying here again even it were free . These observations were made just sleeping here ,we didn't spend much time here at all .

If you don’t mind improving
If you are used to roughing it but appreciate a clean bed and clean hot shower, this is the place for you! The beach, restaurants, bars and stores are all in walking distance. If you drive a short distance you can visit a lighthouse and an Aquatic Science Center.

The room was nice and comfortable. The room was clean, and included everything I needed to be comfortable. The thing that I did not like was that the building is really old, so the walls are thin. Every time someone walked outside the door, you could hear and even physically feel absolutely everything. Also, because the walls were so thin between the room, the room smelled of smoke because there was a smoker next door.

Last Minute Vacation
My boyfriend and I couldn’t have asked for a best place to stay while visiting Tybee. The location was one of the biggest advantages, walking distance to everything you honestly need. Being that close to beach made our trip even more stress free. The Cabo house is beautiful as well, really gives you the old Savannah feeling. Perfect place for a couple getaway. We will be back!

Tybee Island Hidden Treasure
This location was the best, walking distance to everything important. This room was simple with everything you could need. I must say even the bed was more comfortable than expensive hotels we have stayed at. Parking is off the Main Street and the whole area felt very safe.
