About this house rental
Tucked on a private five acres in the middle of the national forest, The Burrow has everything you need to feed your soul!
Perfect for cozy getaways or large gatherings, The Burrow boasts three floors of fun. The loft has a TV sitting area, a toy hideaway closet that children love, and a king master bedroom with en suite bathroom and walk in closet. (The master bath is a walk-in corner shower, and on the small side.) The main floor has two queen bedrooms, play pens in each closet, a full bathroom (standard tub/shower), a fully stocked kitchen, and a huge family room with a wall of windows overlooking the national forest. The basement has another full bathroom (large walk-in shower), a bedroom with another queen bed and a twin bunk bed. The basement also has a huge game area with another TV sitting area, pool table, ping pong table, a wall of Nerf guns, two twin bunk beds, and a full over full bunk bed - with three additional sleeping mats under the bunks. Every kid’s dream come true!
Wi-Fi is provided but fair warning: you’re in the middle of the forest and it’s not super mega blastoid speed. You’ll have difficulty streaming. There is also no TV/Satellite service. We do provide two large binders full of DVDs for all ages. And there’s more time to enjoy the plethora of board games, card games and puzzles!
We’re also proud to boast that the Burrow has central heat and A/C in the main areas- a rarity in a Payson cabin. The bedrooms come equipped with their own heaters and fans as well.
While the house itself is a blast, you won’t stay indoors for long. The star of this show is NATURE. The wraparound porch lets you soak up the beauty of northern Arizona from every angle. Then there’s the hammocks, Gaga ball pit, volleyball net, spike ball, ladder ball, bocce ball, horseshoes, and several other outdoor games. Our fully wooded five-acre lot backs up to the national forest, ready for you to enjoy. And we can’t forget to mention the countless hikes and trails right outside the door, as well as lakes less than thirty minutes away!
NEW- We are now pleased to offer garbage service! We have two bins that are picked up every Thursday. Anything that doesn’t fit in the bins must be hauled away. The bins are located at the end of the street by the mailboxes.
For our disabled friends, keep in mind this house does require stairs and is not wheelchair friendly. For friends with young children, we provide two stair safety gates, two play pens, and one strap on infant seat/high chair.

This was the perfect get away place. We live pretty local to Payson and needed a weekend away. The privacy and space was perfect for us. Will definitely be staying here again!

We loved going to this remote home that was so big for 11 people it never felt crowded and there was sooo much to do! We brought our quad and got to ride it right outside the property! We loved the deck and the kids loved the hammocks, bridge and room to go on adventures!!! I really don’t have a complaint other than it seems like it hadn’t been used in awhile so seemed a bit dirty but we got to bring our dogs and loved it!!! I thank Rebecca for keeping in touch with us so quickly and we just felt at home! We would definitely go back!! Sooooo much fun for the 4th of July!! Thanks for allowing us to feel comfortable in your home!!

CABIN WAS JUST PERFECT!!! WE LOVED IT , AND WILL DEFINITELY BOOK AGAIN!

The cabin is located just outside of Payson with Tonto with excellent hiking in the area. The area has a couple of other cabins but they were not occupied during our stay so it was very secluded and quiet. PLENTY of space and amenities in the home. Fire pit was excellent and tons of wood to utilize. Plenty of beds and rooms with fun things to do for all ages.

We loved the house. It was exactly as described in the listing. The owner has provided everything we could possibly require. Our kids had so much fun. Would like to return sometime soon.

Very well-equipped cabin with so many activities and spaces to relax. We want to come back and stay longer next time! Thank you!!

This cabin is wonderful for our family everything you need in the kitchen & outside. Didn’t have to bring our own tables & chairs for our reunion activities. They have lots of beds, living spaces inside and out. It’s perfect ♥️

This place was perfect for our large group. There was plenty of space for the kids to play and space for the adults to relax and hang out! Looking forward to staying again to play in the snow in the future.

All the seating was wonderful. It gave us the opportunity to have our own space or to hang out together. Although there are some neighbors, the cabin still feels isolated. All the different fandoms was fun!
Really enjoyed, the only never was the temperature of the upstairs bedroom but that's just because we came in July. With the fans, it wasn't too bad.
Thoroughly recommend!

This was literally the perfect place for us to stay!!! We had such a blast!!! Thank you so much

Had to drive on dirt road for a bit and didnt care for all the 4x4's zooming by and creating more dust, but it was very remote so we liked that. The home is dated and could use new pool cues for sure or the table will get ruined. We also found a dirty diaper downstairs and we left the place very nice. It was big and accommodating for my family and the big round dining table was great. Not far from Woods Canyon Lake where we went boating and fishing. Overall it was good for our family and we enjoyed it.

The house was comfortable and had plenty of room for our group. The quiet and peaceful surroundings were just what we needed for the weekend. Thank you for helping make our stay enjoyable!

Loved this property offered such a beautiful stay. Time flew and stood still at the best moments. Hope to be coming back soon. Gorgeous views, lots of things to explore and play.

We were looking to get away from the business of life and give our some good play time. It was all we could ask for. The kids played outside all day and games down stairs until falling asleep. The big kids found movies and games to keep them busy. The adults enjoyed watching from inside. We were totally comfortable chatting and cooking inside. So many helpful items in the kitchen, even an instapot!
Our beds were comfortable, and all the children and babies had a place to sleep. It was a great experience and I'll tell all my friends!

We had such an amazing time at the burrow. It was tucked away in the woods and a perfect getaway. We went there for my birthday with friends and family to hang out and enjoy nature and we did just that. Highly recommend! And we would definitely go back!

I took my show choir for a rehearsal retreat and we had everything we needed for a fantastic weekend.
The road in is definitely dirt and with all of the rain a small or regular car probably wouldn’t be able to navigate some of the bigger washouts, but our vans and crossovers did just fine.

Property is exactly as described and pictured. This property is in a secluded part of the forest which makes it very enjoyable. Do not let the seclusion fool you. It has all the amenities you need to enjoy yourself. From the comfortable mattresses to the air hockey and pool table made the interior a hot. Outside was amazing, very spacious property with many activities provided by the Watsons made it a great family get together. Definitely will be back soon.

Perfect spacious cabin for multiple families! We all enjoyed ourselves and had so much fun during our stay. The views from this place are breathtaking! Thank you Watson family for an amazing stay. We hope to be back very soon 🏔🌲❤️

We took our management team to this cabin for a leadership off-site. The amenities were great for our needs--lots of beds and lots to do at the cabin and the property--both inside and out when we were not having workshops and meetings! We enjoyed hiking on nearby trails and enjoyed the weather and quite that only a forest cabin can produce.
We're already planning on going again next year!

Great relaxing retreat for family
Our large family had a great time. Location beautiful and quiet. Perfect deck to relax and keep an eye on kids. We had an amazing weekend.

This property is so family friendly and our group had the best time. There is so much to do inside the house - air hockey, pool table, nerf guns, games, tons of couch seating for movies, and fully stocked kitchen. The outside is even better. The wrap around shaded porch, tons of chairs, trees everywhere hiking right outside the house, outside games, large firepit and tons of parking.
Owners are so nice and flexible - easy to work with.
We will definitely be back! Highly recommend for a couple families - plenty of space. Thanks for a great weekend location.

Adorable cabin in the woods
Wonderful cabin in the middle of nowhere close to the Rim. Lots of outdoor activities, volleyball, pool table, ping pong, and fire pit. Owners were extremely responsive and a flexible with our schedules. Kiddy paradise!!
Could use some updating especially in the kitchens and bathrooms and some of the mattresses were not very comfortable. Some nicer patio furniture would go a long way to enjoy the beautiful view.
Thanks for a wonderful memory!!

A great time for all
We had a large group of 10 adults and 4 children so it was difficult finding something to properly accommodate us. This place had flexibility for that. The large family/living room and dining area was PERFECT for interaction and everyone to feel they were part of whatever was going on or to do their own thing. We didn't get to take advantage of everything as the snow made it a bit of a challenge for the outdoor stuff but the kids had a blast nonetheless! Owner couldn't be more responsive and informative! Thank you! The kids LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the toy room (they called it the "GET OUT" room but you have to stay there to understand). The stairs provided an EXCELLENT spot for a 14 person group photo instead of going outside and freezing. The closest thing we had to an issue was that there were obvious signs of a previous stay before us, but nothing that hindered our stay. The master shower is a little on the small side, and has low water pressure but my wife and I were the only ones using it. so it's not like it created a line for the shower. The other showers and all faucets seemed to be just fine. I feel that it would be better to share the requirement to pack out your trash in the description of the property as we had to change our planned vehicles to accommodate this part.
Don't underestimate the opportunity for some great picture taking along the dirt road leading to the house - very picturesque and beautiful! Overall, our stay was a LOT of fun, family memories were plentiful, and it was very fairly priced for what you get.
