This place was even better than we thought — a wonderful location, beautiful house and pool, great breakfast. We hope to come back many times

The location, charm and history of this property is absolutely fantastic!
The amenities are lovely and the pool area gave welcome relief in the heat we experienced. Quiet, peaceful and beautifully decorated not to mention the views are sublime … and we all absolutely loved our breakfast hamper!
For a property of this standard and price a few
things like external lighting (on timers) would help highlight both access to the front door and the beautiful courtyard and pool area after dark.
It was also very hot when we stayed and we could not get cold/cool water in shower .. so perhaps some instructions would be useful for foreign guests.
The main issue however was the cleaning ..
The outdoor furniture was untidy/dirty and the orangerie floor needed sweeping.
Flower arrangement was quite dead in the library, main dining table did not get wiped down after other guests for our entire stay .. along with bins in rooms needing to be emptied after room service.
These are not major but this is SUCH a stunning property that a bit more attention to detail would correspond to this type of clienteles expectations.

beautiful boutique hotel, excellent value, huge bedrooms with stunning views. great pool and well furnished interiors. breakfast is very cute - each room gets a basket in the morning in the kitchen. A real sense and experience of the region. all the guests were cool younger (under 40) couples. we stayed in room “Eleanor”.
no staff, didn’t bother us, but if you’re looking for full service this is not it.

You are lord of the manor in a house impeccably appointed with a taste for art and artists.

Staying in this historic residence is a most unusual and marvellous experience. It gives an opportunity to experience a uniquely grand old mansion for an affordable price. Our accommodation was spacious and splendid, the views from our room and from the delightful courtyard terrace were exceptional. This is not a normal hotel or B& B experience and staff are not resident, so guests are largely alone in the building.
Nothing that inconvenienced us.

a wonderful experience, a hidden gem
high quality, everything 5 stars + mixed with history, views, the feeling of village. Incredible

the property itself is beautiful! the place is amazing with everything organised so great. you don’t see the hosts but everything worked well. there is only 4 rooms so it is not too crowded in comunal areas. the pool is small but with fresh water and spectacular view. it is like sleeping in a museum ( at the time was a small exhibition of an artist at the downstairs of the house ) Breakfast baskets were awesome!
I only didn’t like the automatic emails I was getting from the hotel about asking me to pay when we already payed it all but this has nothing to do with the property!

location is fabulous, the views are amazing. The house is quirky, with beautiful old furniture. the swimming pool is lovely, huge room sizes, and a lovely breakfast was left in a basket in the kitchen.
No working air con (despite being advertised as having air conditioning) so didn’t have one decent nights sleep.
This property seems to operate as an air bnb but is advertised as a hotel. Staff were a rare occurrence, only really saw cleaning staff in the morning and no hotel facilities as such.

Unique place, loved that it was not a hotel, but convivial, artistic. Felt like a home and we treated it as such. By far our favourite place. Please keep it that way!
