We enjoyed the stay and the breakfast which was included ticked all the boxes

We liked the old style pub hotel feel.

I think for the price and staying over Easter it provided everything we needed as we were in the area for the Stawell Easter gift race.

Great Pub rooms and facilities.

Its a pub! It did what it said on the box, clean and tidy rooms with 3 large shared bathrooms for the floor. We all loved the period charm and the friendly staff. I loved the free breakfast (choose what ever you want - I had the bid breakfast - Yum) - Dinner downstairs was also excellent.

No aircon in the bedrooms from memory, maybe a bit hot in summer?? Didn't bother us.

Really nice place to stay if needing a short over night stay.

Great location, very comfortable room & bed. Nice looking bar downstairs.

One of the reason why I chose this place was because it offered what looked to be a great breakfast. Arrived only to find the breakfast started at 8:30 and as I was travelling for work this was too late.

Wonderful stay, great host and would happily come again. Best showers

Our stay was wonderful, the rooms are spacious and comfortable and the shared bathroom facilities are fantastic, exceeded expectations - outstanding shower water pressure and only a short walk from all rooms. As the chef was away the owner insisted on reimbursing us for breakfast.

A good place for an overnight stay if you don’t mind shared bathroom facilities.

The location was convenient and the staff very friendly. The decor of the room was nice. The convenience of having a bar and restaurant was a positive factor, as well as being able to park out the front.

It was not clear on the website that the rooms did not have an ensuite- only shared bathroom facilities were available. There was only one PowerPoint in the room with many leads attached. There was a glass panel above the door which let in light every time someone used the bathroom or toilet opposite the room, so we were woken frequently throughout the night.

Great value for money option to break up the journey.

Great location on the Main Street. For me it was to break up the travel distance from Melbourne to Adelaide to get a head start. very friendly staff and ideal with a classy intimate Bar and dining options downstairs so you don’t have to go anywhere else.

to be picky I found the bed a bit soft. Shared bathrooms / toilets were very adequate, clean and served the purpose well.

Coat hangers in the wardrobe would have been handy More information needed regarding wifi password breakfast times delay in getting hot water to the showers Perhaps a simple handout brochure on arrival would have covered these issues

We enjoyed a relaxing long weekend staying at the Barkly and exploring the area.

This is a friendly, great value hotel to stay at right in the main Street of Ararat. Clean, well presented room with convenient access. Bistro menu offered a good selection and breakfasts were freshly cooked to order. we enjoyed talking to the friendly staff and plenty of locals enjoying the Barkly.

Shared facilities but it was ok as it was budget accommodation and there was limited accommodation available. An event had booked out most places.

A short but pleasant stay.

Rob was a great host, he was both interested and interesting to have a chat with. He came across as very unflappable. The hotel bar, room and facilities were all very clean.

Amazing accomodation, fabulous staff!

Absolutely amazing 💯. Loves this place. Owners and staff went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. The food was amazing from dinner to the breakfast! Fabulous atmosphere in the bar for drinks. Ever so friendly. Will definitely be back. Can not recommend this place highly enough 👍 Thank you so much for your kind hospitality.
