Never again

Very friendly staff, great location.

There was a very unpleasant smell in the rooms. As soon as we were given the keys to our room and we went up to our room, we were greeted by a whole swarm of cockroaches. They were everywhere, calmly moving across the floor. Not just one or two, but a whole crowd of cockroaches. There were ants crawling in the kitchen as well. It was simply horrifying. We immediately decided to leave and find another hotel.

If I could get my money back I would! I would never stay at another of these

I liked the friendliness of the staff

Everything!! It was disgusting smelled like smoke and the sheets were not clean. You could see liquid running down the wall next to the bed across the room. The floors were the filthiest I have ever seen.

Do Not Stay Here

Nothing.

When we arrived the front desk window was locked. I had to call the hotel number from my cell to get someone to the desk. We check in go to the room, there is hair all over the tub/shower, sink. I go back downstairs. Request new room. I can’t access the second room key will not work. The front desk person had to come open the door. That room had fake fingernails in the bathroom floor, hair in shower. The hallways leading to rooms covered in dirt. The hotel smelled of weed. I tried contacting the manager through front desk and by email by no one will speak to me.

Never again will I stay there

My dog could stay there

Staff!Housekeeper practically kicked us out at 9am after I came out of my room to take my dog out. Since I had more family on the trip she followed my son at 10am when he went to my sister's room to tell her we were leaving and kept telling him the way out was on first floor. That made me very upset so I grabbed my stuff and left I was never rude but I couldn't tolerate the rudeness on her part. It was a Hispanic lady. I also waited in the lobby for a very long time during check in and check out because the lady in the front desk was outside smoking.

More like a dorm than a hotel

Star was very welcoming and outgoing at check in! Property & rooms were clean and fresh-feeling. Decent stay for the price. The shower was more spacious than I expected, with lots of shelving. We appreciated the feeling of being more secure with the lobby doors (to get from the lobby into the main building) being locked at all times.

Walls are THIN; can be very noisy. There are no curtains over the windows, only basic blinds. I woke up at 430am thinking it was later in the morning because of how much light came through the blinds. The rooms are VERY basic. Simple metal bed frame (very noisy). No decor/lacks cozy feel. Only 1 night stand. Shower water pressure was nearly nonexistent.

Don’t waste your time or money

the location was great

everything else. I rented the room for a family member. i reported that I had a relative coming and their name was added to the room and I was told she would have to show her ID to get the room keys. When my relative got there, the front desk was completely closed (which it wasn’t listed anywhere that the front desk closes at a certain time). There is a phone where you can call for assistance which my relative did. She explained the situation (that her name was added to the room and she had her ID to verify her identity for the room keys). the employee told her it was “double booked” instead of verifying the information my sister provided. she then called me and I had to drive to the location to sort everything out. I was NOT happy and there were huge water bugs in the room. Also, the TV did not work so thwy had to watch tv on a laptop. At $200 for one night, this was a very crappy hotel and resulted in a ton of unnecessary inconvenience. Also, my card was billed twice. one of the charges is supposed to fall off but that means $220 dollars is in limbo until it does. Thank goodness I wasn’t relying on that money for food or anything. It was an overpriced mess. the staff did seem eager to resolve the issues when I spoke to them. Do note that ANY of the typical amenities such as a hir dryer or iron have to be retrieved at the front desk even though it closes at a certain time. There are no kitchen appliances (pots, pans, dishes, etc.) in the room and have to be purchased separately. I will not return nor would I ever recommend this place. it is likely only up and running because the staff does work to fix problems. Had the room of been as updated as the lobby, maybe it would have been worth it. But to pay that much for an old motel room with a cheap kitchenette, it just isn’t worth the headache or risk of infestation.

Very good

Room was exceptionally clean and beds were quite comfortable.

Barebones amenities in rooms. No coffee pot, no blow dryer, no tissue. Bath towels and wash clothes provided, but no hand towels. Two small bars of soap and two very small bottles of shampoo.

Horrible experience!!!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!!!!!! RUN!!!! I booked two rooms on January 10th and I was notified on January 14th while I was already in Jacksonville that the hotel was overbooked and they could not accommodate our family. The manager was unprofessional, not helpful and horrible. He told us that he was book us a room with a neighboring hotel and we were informed after 4:00pm from booking that he LIED! He never contacted us, never tried to accommodate us, did not try to find another hotel and refuse to call/ speak with me personally. All the surrounding hotels are booked as well. So now we have to drive almost a hour away for another hotel. This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with a hotel. My family drove from Alabama only to be told, we overbooked our rooms and we can’t help you. By far the worst experience. I’ll be filing an official complaint with corporate and BBB.
