Self-contained, spacious (travelling solo), and peaceful. Alice had thoughtfully prepared mini mince pies that were in the kitchen when I arrived (just days after Christmas) as well as some milk, butter and hot drinks capsules. Oh, and an honesty box/mini bar outside in the porch. Convenient and nicely designed facilities and a very comfortable bed. I was there for a mix of work and leisure, and needed space and silence to focus. With the forest on the doorstep, a few good pubs in walking distance, and a supermarket a short drive away, this was perfect.
Alice, let me know that there had been gasworks outside for a while. Unfortunately, this left a very muddy place to park on the weekend I was there. Not the owner’s fault, but a slight issue when loading and unloading the car (as a solo traveller).

The Beehive is located right next door to the Forest of Dean, with numerous public paths to explore and enjoy. It was spotlessly clean, with a very comfortable bed, a kitchen with everything needed. We loved how quiet it was and Alice welcomed us with a delicious cake waiting for us - a nice touch!
I must mention the cleanliness again, which I’m very particular about - if I could give 20 out of 10 on cleanliness, I would: simply second to none.
The Beehive was a fantastic base for exploring the great outdoors and it offered everything we needed, and more. The attention to detail was outstanding - the well thought out interior and decoration, the thorough and informative instructions for the tv and for entering the property, the suggestions pack, the fire safety - you could tell that Alice and Rob have put so much thought and effort into it all.
Thank you, Alice! Planning our next visit to The Beehive!
It’s open plan. I had a Teams meeting to attend and no privacy was a bit of an issue. My partner and I managed to work around it and I am only mentioning this in the interest of keeping travellers informed, rather than as a criticism. Note to self: cancel all meetings during our next visit. :)

Lovely little gem. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything was there what we needed and a delicious honemade Carrott cake was left for us as well as milk and butter in the fridge, lovely touch :)
Bus stop just around the corner and a lovely walk through the forest where we ended up in a pub (Miners Arms) the food was delicious and staff were really friendly.
Would definitely recommend both the Beehive and the pub :)
Nothing.

It was beautiful, excellent decor. Clean and tidy. Very homely
The code to get in went to my junk folder - not anyone's fault but if you're staying here I'd keep an eye on your junk emails.
The hosts came down and let us in, so us not receiving this caused us no inconvenience. Just a little bit of advice for those booking

The property was well presented. Immaculate and had all the creature comforts. It was warm cosy and a home from home. The owners had thought of everything. It was a home from home.
The only thing we didn't like personally was having to park on the road. And the fact it was situated in the middle of a housing estate.

Alice and Ben the owners were so welcoming but also valued our privacy. The accommodation was so well maintained, clean and like new. It felt spacious as good use had been made of the space. It was good to be near to the owners in case anything went wrong.
Leaving.

Everything was perfect, spotlessly clean and had everything needed for a beautiful relaxing break. The bed was amazingly comfortable after a day out and about exploring the beautiful surrounding area. We had an amazing stay, steam train just around the corner and the pick of some good pubs in walking distance... recommend the woodman. The hosts were lovely and available if anything needed and the carrot cake was delicious! Definitely couldn't have picked better accommodation and will definitely return.

Thank you for the lovely accommodation and the chocolate cake...I could not eat it all!
Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and there was lots of hot water.
I liked the radio/bluetooth speaker and phone chargers being provided, really thoughtful devices.
I liked all the little beehive touches and I thought it was good value for money. The location is good with lots to do in the area.
The local pub, The Miners Arms was friendly.
Not much! It was all good. Perhaps a drainer by the sink? It was all very good.

Everything. The property location is amazing. Secluded yet not to far away from the town Lydney. The property was exceptionally clean, with a bunch of useful amenities in the property.
The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious with a lovely shower.
When we got in there was also a carrot cake waiting for us to enjoy. Which was a lovely touch.

Location was fabulous, the forest was a 2 minute walk away and the property was close to a number of attractions in the area. The property was nicer than the photos led me to believe. Bed was comfy. Spotlessly clean. Warm. Well equipped kitchen.
Nothing. I was perfectly happy with the accommodation.
