It’s a beautiful and unique house
Not for people who likes minimalism

The location was good, the town is small so everything was near. There was tea, coffee, biscuits and a kettle in our room which was a nice touch.
Me and my partner arrived carrying all our belongings on a very hot day. We walked up the drive and passed a group relaxing under a tree. We said hey and walked into the house to do our check-in but couldn't find anyone to check us in. After a while, I went back outside to ask the people relaxing outside if they knew who worked there. They all did. I thought it was quite unprofessional that no one came to help us, it wasn't very welcoming.
After that we had no issues with the staff, everyone was nice enough.
Overall I felt the vibe of the place is a bit strange and the house really needs some work. I think because everything's quite old it doesn't feel super clean - there's some mildew on shower curtains and stains on the ceilings. I didn't enjoy not having locks on the doors but I only became aware of this once I'd booked and read reviews of others.

Think of this as your eccentric great aunt who lives in a crumbling mansion. The place just oozes charm and character. If you're looking for something nice and shiny, do yourself and Casa Grande a favor and go stay at one of the new condos down the street with the IKEA furniture. This place has all kinds of blemishes but staying here is truly a heartwarming experience. The owner has been doing this for 50 years so she has hosted tens of thousands of guests here. The breakfast was one of the best we had on this trip, you'll meet travelers from all over the world as laughter echoes throughout the house. It really was a one of a kind, deeply satisfying experience.
The property condition - but...

Location
Son planned a party for owner that lasted late into the night with loud music. Wish they would had let us know prior to our stay so we would be advised and had the option to book elsewhere also that they would be so preoccupied they wouldn't have time for guests. Afer we checked in our room had a smell of raw sewage from toilet that emmitted an odor into the room that was awful. The toilet was not even attached to the floor. Place is in need of lots of repairs. Would never stay here again! Worst place I have ever booked. Don't waste your money.

Very Friendly Ambience and lots of character. The property has a historic feel which creates a lovely environment to stay in. Staff were extremely friendly, helpful and courteous.
It needs a lick of paint and a few minor fixes but nothing major. Nothing to stop us having a wonderful time.

Incredible mansion with lots of character and quirkiness. Wonderful staff and vibe. Eating the delicious breakfast all together is great as you meet all the guests and the place has a real family feeling. In the centre of town with parking. We will be returning next year. Loved it

Sally and the girls helping her are SUPER nice and they really did everything to make me feel like home. They even stayed in their free day to prepare breakfast for me sooner than the usual time because I needed to leave early. Exceptional!

what an amazing kooky old guest house. breakfast with sally and all the other guests was amazing, very quiet but central location and the building had such charm
not much, there was a couple of mosquitoes in our room and one of the twin beds (turquoise room) wouldn’t be suitable for tall people because I’m 5”2 and my feet were touching the wall, but I actually found it really comfortable

Casa Grande was super convienent. It was a 10-minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes to a local market & restaurants. It was a charming old mansion with an amazing Dragon Tree with a quiet sitting area. It felt so peaceful. Sally the host was so caring and accommodating, she loaned us a phone charger for the night. The breakfast was a great spread of fresh fruits, cheese, bread, jams, and spreads. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.

Great location and very friendly staff
The building and interior including furniture needs some investment. It's a lovely building but could be charged more if some investments were made.
