everything was great

The location was excellent, very close to the center. The hotel was also a museum. The bedroom was large and comfortable although the bed squeaked.
The breakfast was very basic. The hostess who assisted us spoke so quietly that it was impossible to hear her.

The hotel interior looked good, and there is an interesting museum gallery of local historic artworks and artefacts. There are some fine plants in the courtyard but it's a bit of a stretch to call it a garden.
Our room was small, without comfortable chairs or even a wardrobe. The window overlooked the courtyard so the room was poorly lit, overlooked and didn't feel private. Bafflingly, there was no coffee supplied with the coffee maker and when this was queried the staff said, no, they didn't provide coffee pods for the machine. They did bring us coffee on request but with no phone in the room we had to go downstairs to ask for it. The stairs are polished wood and slippery so extreme caution is needed. Finally, and not their fault, it was a local holiday weekend, the roads outside were barricaded or stationary and we couldn't get a taxi without walking several blocks and waiting in the road for half an hour, so nearly missed the event we had come to see, then repeated the experience on the way back. The hotel has no restaurant and there were none still serving nearby although it was only 9.45pm. With hindsight we'd have picked a hotel closer to the venue.

I don't often give rave reviews, but with Casa Bolívar Hotel Museo, I'm making an exception. It's a gem! An oasis of tranquility and comfort in the heart of the city. The staff's terrific and the total experience was excellent!
Nothing! There was nothing that I could complain about. Everything more than succeeded our expectations. My wife was thrilled with her massage and we were both pleased with the breakfast.

Well cared for old home with a ton of character. The staff could not be more hospitable or helpful.
Really nothing much to put here. Breakfast is available and can be brought in from around the corner but it is a little awkward as the restaurant is not really set up for takeout.

The location of the hotel was excellent. you can walk to everywhere in the town from here but it was really quiet at night.
The hotel itself is a beautiful building and had a room laid out as a museum. We didn't have breakfast here but it is served in an internal courtyard. A lovely place.
The strange thing about our room was that there wasn't any hanging space or drawer space. No wardrobe, no drawers. we had to fold our clothes up on a chair! There was a coffee perculator but only some herbal t-bags in the room.

This property is uniquely beautiful as it’s been restored to resemble a museum. The upper floors look down on the restaurant. The rooms are lovely with modern bathrooms.
Nothing.

the room was nice an big. enough space for the two of us nd great location. however, most rooms of the hotel are without window. the rooms are still great, just be aware of that fact. the rooms with the window are facing the street and it is at times quit loud.

kitchen exhaust found its way to out room. No ventilation in the room.
Not enough staff to attend kitchen, no food available when we arrived, breakfast took forever.

Really great facilities and helpful staff.
I needed to find out whether buses left Loja and travelled to Peru or just to the border. My Spanish isn’t good enough but one of the ladies at the reception phoned up the bus company and got the information for me (they currently stop at the border). Another of the reception staff booked a taxi on my behalf for 3am and provided me with all the details of driver and directions by WhatsApp. Really appreciated all the help.
The hotel is amazing and restored really well. Didn’t make it to the museum but it looked good through the window. The room was huge and the shower is fantastic.
Everything was great!
