Perfect place to stay. A great range of hot drink options. Lovely view over the lock. Excellent communication. Beautiful room. Very comfortable bed. Walking distance to everything. Next to a funky micro pub and lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. Decent shower and quirky finishing touches around the room. Would definitely stay again.
We only haven't given it a 10 as there's no breakfast available. Other than that everything was spot on.

The location. It was easy to find with the given instructions. The locking system on the door made the place feel secure. The entrance and stairs were well maintained. Good quality toiletries. Parking space.
The cold room. Heating must have been on a central system that was off. Room not big enough for a chair so have to sit on the bed. However was so cold snuggled under the duvet to get warm. Twin beds comfy enough but pillows bit lumpy and hard. Water not hot enough in the shower. Poor decoration in the room, looks unfinished in places. The building looks as if it is still being renovated. Adequate for a day or two but not for longer.

Lovely room in good location for town centre. Instructions provided by host for finding, accessing property and parking were very helpful. Also advice given on where to find a good breakfast nearby. Room was well equipped and very clean.

Great location right on the canal and next to a nice pub. Rooms were lovely. Bed comfy / cosy. Some nice details in room. Good communication from owners.

Great location with parking. Well appointed rooms. Very clean.
Last time we stayed in Room1 which was much nicer than the room we had this time. Room 3 was quite small & had single beds
4.3
lovely location
Nothing, it was all good
4.3
The bed was comfortable and the views were amazing
Better signage for its location.
Warning of the stairs in room.

Really nice room, comfortable beds and modern bathroom. The building overlooks the canal at the front and Its away from the road at the back so its really quiet. Its just a short walk to the main street where there are pubs and cafes. There are no staff on site so you enter using a keypad system, which worked fine as you get good instructions in advance. But you are also sent a contact number and email in case of any issues. Definitely would stay again.

lovely quaint room, close to all amenities
was cold but soon warmed up

Stayed in Room 1 - very comfortable room & bed with plenty of tea/coffee etc. Great location in centre of Newark but also quiet with lovely views. Lots of useful information sent through in advance.
Nothing!

The room was very well presented, and was very cosy. We had a lovely river view in room 1. The room was very clean and tidy. The location was tricky to find but the owners gave us really detailed directions, which helped us find the rooms easily.
4.3
location and uniqueness.
a bit pricey for room only.

location
parking bays were next to pot holes

We stayed in room 4 which was spacious and had a separate seating area. Convenient for the town centre and a dedicated parking space. The Swan and Salmon pub next door was super convenient and we had a great meal there.
We felt there wasn’t enough tea and particularly coffee - only 4 coffee bags for two people (it winter and cold!). Our room wasn’t restocked but Toni did come down when we called to give us more coffee.

Very cosy and great views. Lovely lounge area to chill, away from the bedroom.
Car park was very tight and not obvious it was for hotel use only. A tight squeeze for room 4. Would be good to have access to the heating as times didn’t match or convenience.
4.3
Room was very stylish and comfortable. Lots of lovely little touches that made it feel very homely. And a big plus was big mugs to have a cuppa. Would recommend. The view across the lock was lovely.
There was no wardrobe so hooks and hangers would have been good
4.3
The location
The room was dirty , very bad to access the the property, no one was their to welcome you , no breakfast option , just very poor all round, we vist Newark often and normally stay at the Beaumont hotel which is far better than this one , when we booked we wasn’t told it was 2 single beds , the beds where some steal structure which was very uncomfortable, for the price we excepted better

nice location, nice sized room.
the code to get into the building did not work, the duvet and pillows where feather so I had allergic reaction. The spring in the bed where noise. The bathroom sloped ceiling I kept banging my head and I’m only 5’7”.

Breakfast was not included so we took our own. The only thing missing is a fridge, which would have been useful.
We loved the location and the fact that we had a parking space right in the centre of the town, very close to all amenities.
As stated above, the inclusion of a small fridge would have been useful

we did not meet any staff, so cant comment on that. Room was pleasant and bathroom nice. Nice to watch the boats just outside the window, on the canal
A little hard to find as it is not on a road as such, you have to turn into an arch on a high street, which is confusing, a map or photo would have been useful. Didnt like the dog bed and blanket next to the bed, it looked really grubby. If that was ditched the room would have felt much cleaner. I am sure many dog owners bring their own kit anyway.

Warned that breakfast not provided but good popular cafe very near. Plenty of coffee, tea and biscuits in the room. Very clear instructions about how to find the riverside building and find the room. Room not huge but full of character and our room had a spacious bathroom. Parking on roughish ground but space designated for our room. Would recommend to friends.
Some simple instruction about how the shower works for those of us with less modern showers at home!

Lovely location in centre of Newark overlooking the lock
